Funny thing is, she has a minor inner ear imbalance, so she occasionally tilts her head back and forth to compensate. She's so adorable, and so is this dog!

Pembroke Welsh Corgi's can make fantastic pets. They are ranked 11 out of 79 Dog Breeds for training. Which means they obey the first given command 85% of the time.

My sister's Pembroke Welsh Corgi is very quiet, which is normal with proper training.

They make great apartment dogs if you train them not to chew or bark.

Though, shedding can be an issue, a daily brushing would do fine.

beautiful little girl.  Our Molly is pembroke, a rescue. I cannot justify paying for a purbred when there are so many languishing in shelters, but corgis are my favorite breed, and Molly needed a good home. She was in a really bad situation, not beatings but neglect. Her safe place is still under the bed although we have lavished time and attention, plus lots of love, for the three years we have had her.

That is sad. I agree with buying purebreds when there are so many unwanted dogs in shelters. My family has two dogs we rescued from the humane society and I love them to death but when I move out I'm tempted to buy a Welsh corgi only because my boyfriend has one and he is such a good dog.

no they are not. The Pembroke corgi is born with a very short tail, which is usually docked at one or two days old, using a rubber band. The Cardigan corgi is a larger dog altogether and has a large tail. It is not docked. In Europe, some countries ban tail docking, so you may see Pembroke's with tails. But this is not usual.

Actually, you're both kind of wrong. The Pembroke comes in two varieties. The "classic style" which bred tailless (and just have a little buttflap) and the "newer style" which have very short tails. The classic style is making a resurgence due to the fact that docking is becoming illegal in many parts of the world. Cardigans, while very similar to Pembrokes, have long tails, and this is usually how the two are divided, as coloration  carries over between the two breeds.

Style has nothing to do with it. The corgi was bred through the centuries to "lose" the tail it would not get stepped on by cattle they were herding. Modern breeders dock the tail very humanely with a rubber band at a birth, to make the stub more appealing - Dog Shows are beauty contests after all! Some have natural tails but often they look really funny sticking up at all angles! My beautiful corgi was docked at birth and had a lovely behind (and no butt-flap!) and she could still wag!

Pembrokes don't get their tails docked. The bob tail is bred into the breed, FYI. They used to be bobbed a long time ago but then the naturals were bred into each other. Cardigans may be different, but many Pembrokes are bron without a tail.

Blah, such a cute dog. Reminds me of my small Corgi. Unforunately she died shortly after getting her because in Korea, petstore owners are very sneaky, neglectful, and so are the vets that are reccomended by them.
