Thumbs up to Paradigm, and yes to high end Yam, but imo Energy speakers suck. I've AB'ed them with lots of different brands, and Polk/Paradigms beat them every time. Energy sounds very dark and recessed.

my system is not audiophile, but

it sounds good, its all seperate components (not HTIB) it is capable of 120.6 db at the listening position. that spl would easily cause hearing damage.

also, what would you call the real thing?

cause a real movie theater is not audiophile.

a real movie theater is about the experience NOT the hi quality audio.

i say use high efficiency high powered speakers for HT. and leave the audiophile gear for music.

See, now when I go on YouTube and search up Home Theater to get an idea of what I should do with the 10 grand that my parents have given me to do exactly that, (build my own proffesional one) in my room, I get these kids who have these in-expensive theater in a box that they try to modify and end up making it sound worse than it did when it came out of the box, but this, this gave me some pretty good ideas, thanks a lot, i'll be using some of them. :)

Blu-ray movies actually give you true 5.1-7.1-7.2 Audio channels, plus you get true 1080p and the best games.

Actually it was his grammar not spelling that was incorrect. Plus, I have a home theater that has a stand alone blu-ray player and an Xbox 360 elite that's connected to my projector with an HDMI cable. I have a Yamaha receiver that up-converts anything I watch to 1080p (even though that's what my xbox's output already is at) and it up-converts anything in 5.1 surround to 7.1. So I don't want or need a PS3.

Many 30" Monitors do 2560x1600

Most 24"+ have 1920X1200 which is 16:10 it has 120 pixels taller which is better for computers...

2560 x 1600 is still an amazing resolution for productivity and everything but gaming (unless you have an epicly fast rig)

and on my 52" HD ready RPTV picture quality is good and sound is incredible

only thing on PS3 is blu ray and you can buy a bly ray player for around 100$

No point without a PS3? A self respecting home-theatre doesn't USE a PS3, which is only a reasonable quality Blu-Ray player. And no, the original PS3 doesn't give you proper audio transfer. They never got on board with uncompressed bitstreams until the slim, which incredibly, was the moment they stop support for reading SACDs! How amazing. First they could read SACD but not reproduce true DSD transfer. Then they put suitable transfer, once they DROP SACD!

Don't no if you missed it, but the XBOX outputs through HDMI and in 1080p. It was never intitially pushed to it, because it's lesser video buffer wasn't considered preferable to outputting 1080p. They were probably right for real-time rendering. No problem for streaming video. It just doesn't have an HD DVD built in. As for "best games", that's a hollow statement. The most prominent competitive gaming league in console existence uses XBOX (MLG).

Many people feel certain brands are they way to go but you should remember there are speakers for different size rooms. When you go to buy your sub make sure you go to a reputable a/v specialist and give the salesperson your room dimensions. Also, speaker location is very important. If you haven't already, check out some tuts online about finding the best sub location for your room.

Very nice set-up. Though I don't understand why most people place their surrounds that way... They are not even aimed at the seating position. ALL speakers should be at ear level while you are sitting - or, they should be aimed at ear level.

Dude, you are totally wrong! Surrounds need to be at ear level while STANDING UP, NOT sitting down. Also, you should NEVER aim them down. You want the sounds that comes from the speakers to not be obvious. You don't want to know where the sound is coming from... In other words, you don't want them aimed right towards you.
