  • Basically they did what Babylon 5 did for it's season 4 finale.

  • There were a few good episodes at the start of each season that lead into a ton of GREAT EPISODES!!! This was not the best episode by a long shot. It was a better finale than 1.12 but there were several episodes that were better in the first and second seasons. The first season started slowly because for some odd reason Joss Whedon thought that those sum-bitches at fox wouldnt cancel him but once he knew that they were getting cancelled the plot moved quickly and the show was a lot better.

  • Personally i think the little girl was awesome, she was on Heroes and Charmed aswel

  • so you know wat happen to Epitaph One cuz all they showed on tv was Epitaph two

  • I looooooooovvvvveee Dollhouse!

  • i didn't see Epitaph One does anyone know where to see it online?

  • @koollegomovies Sorry, I don't think it's anywhere online, only available on Dollhouse Season 1 DVD, kind of lame if you ask me.

  • I really liked the episode as well.

It sort of pulled out all the drama that you'd been waiting for and took out all the useless drama that you hate.

It went really well the storyline too. I could imagine all of this stuff happening because of the Dollhouse

I especially like the scene with Topher and Adelle. I never understood their relationship but whatever it is-it's awesome to watch.

It was so different(in a good way!) to see them breakdown due to guilt of basically ending the world.

  • @TeamDarkSensations Yes, the scene between Topher and Adelle is one of my favorites of the whole series.

    Dennis

  • The kid was from Heroes season 1/2guys. This is what dollhouse should have been from day one. I gave season 2 a chance after the dreadful first season (my opinion) and have enjoyed some of it but they were so very lucky to make it to season 2. This would have been an amazing series if Epitaph One was incorporated within 2019 and 2009. Maybe a little Lost like but who cares. I feel cheated out of an amazing concept and a little annoyed after watching this crazy I know. Silly FOX

  • @JayIssa79 Yeah, the end of Season 1 was much better and Season 2 has been alot better. And of course, it's cancelled now, which is not suprising.

  • The young lady who played "Echo" in this episode is Adair Tishler. She's hands-down one of the best child actors working today, just not very well known (yet). I hear you about not appreciating a child as the main character in a series. I must say though that Adair played a better "Echo" than Eliza Dushku does!

  • @tuncanunc Yeah, she does have more emotion in Echo than Eliza, hahaha

    Dennis

  • the little girl was molly on the show heroes on nbc

  • You know, before I saw your video here, I never considered buying the first season of dollhouse. I know it had that last unaired episode, but I always though, "oh well, no big deal, I bet it wasn't that good anyway". But hearing you guys rave about it makes me REALLY want to go get it and see that episode. I'm not a fan of many reviewers [as I usually find them way too overcritical], but you guys were really interesting had a lot of good comments to make. Five Stars, in my opinion.

  • Thanks heckman42! In my opinion Epitaph One is the best episode of Dollhouse so far, though the latest two episodes of season 2 have been pretty damn good. If you are a fan of the show, I definitely recommend checking it out.

    Dennis

  • "Epitaph One" makes the entire show worth it. I'm so not kidding.

  • @waterkeeper511 Definitely, I bought the season one set just so I could watch Epitaph One again and again.

    Dennis

  • Really great episode. I have no idea why Fox doesn't just trust Joss a little more because his ideas deliver a show more people would want to watch than the brothel/chicks with guns concept Fox wants to push. If DH kept with its current timeline but encompassed more of Joss's ideas and not what an exec thought people wanted, we'd have a wildly successful show full of mystery on par with Lost. The hooker of the week thing is just not flying with audiences and it shows in the ratings.

  • Yeah hooker of the week is getting old, but I do like that they are including the other "actives" Victor and Sierra more into show. It works better as an ensemble cast versus a "star" vehicle.

    Dennis

  • Thanks for posting alrightypewriter!

I absolutely agree with you - at this point I wonder if Dollhouse will make it through the rest of this season!

    Thanks again for commenting!

    Roth

  • I also think it's hilarious that of all the episodes FOX could choose not to air, they go with the best episode of the show. Seriously, who in the company is making all these brilliant calls?

  • The same people who decided to cancel Firefly and Terminator SCC... Those bastards, hahaha

    Dennis

  • Hi Kaniamia!

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, I really enjoyed that timeline as well and hoped that the show would go more in that direction. But there were a couple of episodes this sesaon that gave me hope for the show.

    Thanks Again For Posting!

    Many Thanks!

  • I just saw "Epitaph One" and I totally agree. That episode was so fantastic. And then season two brings us right back to the high-tech whore house that is getting very old very fast. I'd much rather watch a series based in the timeline of "Epitaph One."

I found this episode also really emphasized Dushku's weak acting compared to the other actors. ("Ow, my head hurts" comes to mind...) The two scenes she was in were probably the least interesting ones.

  • Sounds daft but I feel a bit bitter towards Dollhouse because Sarah Connor got cut in favour of this. Summers going to be on the show which feels like an act of betrayal (silly I know). I hear Dollhouse gets about half the viewers that Firefly did humm. ps hope they give me a little closure in Sarah Connor in the form of a dvd film.

  • Sarah Connor Chronicles was definitely the superior show to Dollhouse, especially when comparing season 2 of SCC versus season 1 of Dollhouse. I think the reason FOX killed SCC was because they made no money off the DVD sales, while Dollhouse they do.

BTW The cancellation of Firefly and SCC still brings up deep resentment towards FOX.

  • i love dollhouse as it is. but even i have to admit epitah one was the best of ep. of the season. still i want dollhouse to continue as it is but i love the epitah one scenario. if they could somehow run it as two separate shows (like Buffy and Angel sorta kinda) then i think that'd be awesome

  • Yeah, if there was a spinoff that was set in the future with the Epitaph One story, I definitely would be on board.

    Dennis

  • the familiar girl you saw was Molly in Heroes. and how could anyone not like herr? She's an awesome actor in everything Ive seen her in so far (which admitedly has just been Heroes and Dollhouse, but still). they are not allowed to work more than set limit, but that doesn't mean they couldnt make it work.

  • She was good, I think what me and Roth were saying was that we don't usually like kids in our entertainment as main characters because it can get to be too much.

When we said recast, we meant that "Echo's" imprint be put into another adult character instead of having another kid play the part.

    Dennis

  • oh, that's were she is from, i knew she was from something i watched..

  • when dollhouse aired i was very iffy on it. but strangely when i watched it back on dvd idk i really just GOT it and am now captivated by it. Epitaph One was definitely needed tho, cause the whole show had a very overarching type of feel. so it's good to know it is headed somewhere interesting

  • I think the season got better towards the end, but still nothing was as good as Epitaph One. Give me that show, and I'd be really excited.

    Dennis

  • You also have to be aware that one of the main reasons Epitaph One worked so well was because of the back story that you had learned from the rest of season one. If you had just watched Epitaph One on its own, you probably wouldn't be as excited about it. But how the episode paid off by playing on the episodes before it, it will do the same with the episodes to come later. Now that we know a future, we can have the same jumble of timelines making the actual show much more interesting.

  • Definitely agree that Epitaph One worked better because of the setup of the entire season. However as a concept, I'm more interested in seeing that story vs the modern day storyline. Perhaps season 2 will change my mind, but season 1 was very inconsistent in quality.

    Dennis

  • :D wow thanks for the comment back you guys sooo rock!

i don't know about you.. but.. i am dying for new buffy...freaking dreams about it like im watching the new season and its not even made...thats soo sad right when your dreams have more fun..!?

    well thanks again

    Jessie

  • There's supposed to be a new Buffy movie, but Joss Whedon has nothing to do with it, so it's probably going to suck.

Also Whedon considers the comic book series as Season 8 of Buffy.

    Dennis

  • oh no!

you know i gotta say the same thing to what you said :p just not buffy with the joss lol...

  • Fucken Dennis. The site is pretty awesome.

  • Thanks Aldo, glad you like it. If you have time comment on the site or on YouTube!

  • Joss. S said and i swear i seen this on his goodreads page?

it said they are getting ready for season 2 of dollhouse, i havn't got the dvd box set yet i want to just havn't had the time.

    but i really love dollhouse!

i really wanna see this 13th show everyones talking about, so im sooo there!

haha.. true blood great last sunday or wha? :p they got away with alot of things...from the book really funny.. still kind of eye opening about it all..

  • Yeah, I think at the Dollhouse panel at Comic Con, they said they just started shooting season 2.

  • I really liked Doll House. I agree that it may not live up to regular Joss Whedon Shows, but that still puts it miles above most other shows on air now. I still really enjoyed it. I haven't seen the lost episode but i'm looking forward to it now.

And yes, the kids get annoying. What i would have given for them to have killed of Dawn on Buffy.

  • I agree that it's much better than most shows on the air. Just hope it becomes consistently good.

Roth hates Dawn on Buffy with a passion as well. I found her annoying, and wanted her to disappear.

  • Oh if only...if only...on Dawn ;)

    -Roth

  • speaking of fox having bad judgment remember that show that starred brad garret who played robert in everybody loves raymond, well his show was sooooo terrible and it had bad ratings yet they ordered another season I'm not sure if its still on air but it just made me mad they kept that show and not Drive which lasted for like 5 episodes.

  • Never saw Drive, wanted to because of Nathan Fillion starring and Tim Minear writing it. How was it?

  • I thought it was pretty good it would've been nice if they could've at least come out with a DVD of it.

  • I liked Drive. I thought it was pretty interesting. It had alot of interesting characters.
