Hey templedragon thanks for this treasure, do you have more from this show... Marmaduke had the class to ask Peter Rowan to sing a verse of Panama Red which was written by Rowan
@danotunes Yes, I have the entire last show of Marmaduke and the band, although he had a few beers before the show, so the harmonies are a little off in places. They did a version of Lonesome LA Cowboy that I loved, and, of course, Buddy is peerless on the pedal steel.
the steel guitar player is or was one of the few guitar maestros ever he was not good he like clapton gallagher page and possibly slash are some of the greatest channellers ever except for hendrix x
I got Red sitting right next to me, thanks to our government I can smoke for medical reasons, funny 30yrs ago they throw ya in jail now they deliver to my house aint that a bitch. ah another hit.mmmmmmmm
Panama Red brings back fond memories. seen the NRPS a few times. "on his white horse Mescalito, he comes breezing through town, Bet your womans up in bed with ole" ...I

@ servozoom - For a song that was recorded in a studio using then-state-of-the-art recording equipment, and by the time some people have heard it, has been digitally remastered and originally recorded some 40 years ago, I'm surprised they can even remember the words. That Panama Red will do that to you. So smoke up, sit back, and enjoy it, anyway.
agreed :) I take back one thing from my previous comment, I would stil have enjoyed the show, but would have gone home and listened to the studio version. lol
I've never seen so many horrible camera operators in one place. Great song, I like the studio version where the line "hey pedro" is delivered with more gusto. Here it's just like "too much bother". I'd be disapointed if I payed to see this show. Sorry.
@coopz7777777 Actually this band got started with Jerry Garcia and he use it as a practice/sound board while he learned slide guitar. So they are not stealing Dead songs, the Dead stole their song!!! New Riders of the Purple Sage live on!!
Nice to see Peter Rowan up onstage with the band. Saw them couple of weeks ago. Not only was Rowan there but Tex Logan showed up to join the band too.
ah,ye-thanks
