Hey there Marleen thanks so much for watching. The answer is yes you have to do this as long as you have the band. You may only have to do it 1 or 2 times a year further out but yes the adjustments are very necessary for success. Thanks again and sorry so late on the response. Hugs, Melissa:)

what is a fill? What if you have problems with keloid skin?

A fill is when they put saline in your port that goes to the actual band around the top of your stomach. The more saline put in the tighter the band can get. That in turn will only allow so much food to pass through. I am not sure about the keloid skin. You may want to ask your doctor about that one :) Thanks fo r watching- Hugs, melissa :)

keloids are a type of scar I think. Does it hurt when they fill?

I've also had this Surgery and i dont even feel anything when my MD pokes me.. he doesnt use any type of numbing agent either. Some MD's do though but it doesnt hurt at all (well not to me)

Wow!That is so totally different from my fills.Mine are all done under fluorscopy.They take a quick pic or two, mark where the port is,insert the needle(no numbing required),sit me up,have me swallow some barium,while running the fluoroscopy & then adjust according to how that flows through.Once done,they pull the needle out and I am on my way.Even the needle is different from what they used on you.How bizarre!Now I wish I could videotape mine.

Congrats on your date :) I am so excited for you that is so great you are going to do so great - I just know it :) I was calm I wasn't feeling a thing when he was doing that. i think he was nervous because my husband was recording it lol.

LoL you are welcome. It only has to be done once a month for like 3-4 months and then after that maybe 3 times a year if that so not so bad. :)

The pain is one thing, but I don't think I could handle knowing what they are doing to me. LOL

I would most likely pass out. I am the biggest baby. Boy Melissa, you are brave! Do they have to do that every time?

LoL it really isn't that bad the only thing you feel is the numbing medicine before this. But this I felt nothing really. I am a total baby I cannot stand shots. Plus I never watch them I am always looking away from the needle. Yes I have to do this every time for a fill :) You are doing great by the way - Hugs, Melissa :)

lol the only thing that hurt was the numbing medicine (shot) before hand. That I didnt feel at all just pressure no pain LoL..You can handle those tattoos I know you can handle this lol :) Hugs, Melissa :)
