  • To pray effectively is to pray according to God's will. It is not God's will for all of Sydney, all of Australia, or all of the world to come to Christ. Surely if it is His will, it will be done as is reflected in the scriptures time and time again. Let there be light and it was done. It is His command for all people to repent and turn to Christ, not his will. God's will has always been that the elect chosen in (Ephesians 1:4-5) Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world come to Christ.

  • @hckymrk 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance...wait what did it say? ... not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance wait one more time... not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance...ok cool.

  • @con1ah I love it when brothers in Christ rebuke or admonish in love. When it is out love and not sarcasm and self righteousness. I reply to you out of love and with a desire to teach what Jesus Himself taught and the apostles and the early church until the error of Arminus infected the church several hundred years ago. God has chosen an elect people and God will redeem those people and none other.

  • @con1ah When interpreting a verse look at in the context of the chapter, book, and the entire Bible. God does not change. God has chose people to be recipients for His grace and mercy over others since creation not because of their works but because of His grace. Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob over Esau and the list goes on. God has never chosen all, not in the Old Testament not in the New.

  • @con1ah I do not expect you to listen to me but perhaps you might to the Person we both call LORD.

Joh 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

given unto him of my Father.

  • @con1ah and again

    and again

Joh 6:64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

Joh 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were

  • @con1ah

Joh 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Joh 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Joh 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

  • @con1ah Our LORD clearly teaches that he will save those whom His Father has given Him. Jesus prior to his crucifixiton did not pray for the world.

Joh_17:9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

Brother I could go on and quote 100 clear references that clearly teach limited atonement for every 1 reference you claim otherwise. May the LORD put it in your heart to study this subject more and put aside man's teaching for His.

  • @con1ah and last but not least is God unjust for choosing a remant and not all? Read what our Apostle Paul had to say on this very subject. Rom 9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

  • @con1ah

Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

  • @con1ah

Brother before you reply in haste even perhaps in anger to what I have written I urge you to study this subject, to meditate on what your LORD and His Holy Word clearly teaches lest you find youself teaching a false doctrine, the heresy of Arminus and not the doctrine of God. The LORD's saying which I have quoted surely must be stirring your soul to re-examine you current view. GOD Bless

  • @con1ah Should you wish to have more Biblical proofs or more info on Jesus's teaching on limited atonement feel free to contact me.

  • @hckymrk Im not replying in anger at all. Your views on the elect has serious implications on the character of God. How does God come to choose the elect then? 1 peter 1:2 who have been chosen according to the FOREKNOWLEDGE of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood:

  • @con1ah The verses you quote tell of a God who foreknew, yes He knew His his elect before they were even born, right from the beginning. He knows them and then predestines them to be conformed to the image of His Son. It is His choosing, His effectual power that will bring these sinners to Christ. All aspects of Salvation are of and by the work of God alone so that ALL GLORY may go to Him, this includes electing an undeserving soul, drawing an underserving soul to Jesus, sanctifying and

  • @con1ah and atoning an undeserving soul by the sacrifice of the LORD on the cross. The simple truth is that sinful man has no interest in Jesus whatsoever. We more than happy ot wallow in our natural state. It takes the supernatural work of God to draw someone to Jesus. Faith is given to us by GOD. Do not think that this is something that we can come to on our own.

  • @con1ah Without the power of God we would not could not claim Jesus as our own.

Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. If you think that you choose God by your own power and that GOD chooses you on this basis then you make GOD subject to your will and you choice.

  • @hckymrk romans 8:29

For those God FORKNEW he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. I have no issues with us being predestined and called as the scriptures say...but God doesn't chose the elect willy nilly...its our of forknowledge he predestines which has a completely different connotation to what you are saying.

  • @con1ah Brother, I judge not the sovereign God. This is His Word not mine, His view not mine says "He is the potter and has power of the clay to make vessels of wrath or mercy. You make another serious error in doctrine and rob God of His sovereignty to save whom He will for His purpose and in turn make Him subject to man's will.

  • @con1ah By saying God doesn't chose willy nilly, you are no doubt saying that God is choosing us because of some attribute. This is very serious as you turn the Gospel of Grace into a doctrine of works. God chooses us because of something we do? We are dead, slaves to sin, not one is righteous and you say God elects us because "our foreknowledge".(The scripture you quoted says according to the foreknowledge of God, not ours)

  • @con1ah So brother where you see a God electing a person for something he does, I see a doctrine of works. Where you see a God that is unjust in choosing people without merit, I see a God of grace. Where you see a God that is unjust in electing a people willy nilly, I see a sovereign mighty God. Where you see a God that is unjust in electing a people while condeming many, I see a God of mercy. EVERYONE deserves to go to hell. The fact the he pardons any at all is testimony to His mercy.

  • @con1ah I have left you with many CLEAR biblical proofs. The "proofs" you have given me have not given support for your argument and are easily reconciled. Try reconciling all the scriptural(and there are many more) verses I have given you with what you say. Try please try reconciling the very words of your LORD "I PRAY NOT FOR THE WORLD" with your view. Truly before you post again prayfully study this subject.

  • @con1ahBrother God elects because of His will not because of our works.

Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of HIS WILL(emphasis added)

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the COUNCEL OFF HIS OWN WILL: (emphasis added)

Mat_22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

  • @con1ah Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

He has made us alive! WHO WERE DEAD

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

WHEN WE WERE DEAD IN SINS, NOTHING ABOUT MERIT HERE JUST GRACE

  • @con1ah Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

FAITH IS A GIFT, A FRUIT FROM GOD AND NOT A WORK TO MERIT FAVOR

  • @con1ah Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Sorry left the caps on. Our good works come after we are converted not before. To say that God elects because of something we did prior to conversion is folly. Grace is grace. Grace is unmerited undeserved favor and there is nothing absolutely nothing man to make God choose him.

  • @hckymrk 2 say that he dosent desire all of creation to come back to himself isnt true.the scriptures and the model jesus laid out says completely otherwise as i said before. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance...everyone is his heart. A view on the character of God is distorted if you see his calling of the elect as a random chance insead of forknowledge

  • @con1ah Brother you are batting one verse against a thousand. And even this verse you are quoting is not talking about everyone in the world, it is talking about His church.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

THE LORD IS LONGSUFFERING TO USWARD, TO US(THE CHURCH) NOT THE WORLD. THE LORD IS WAITING FOR HIS ELECT TO COME TO FAITH!

  • @con1ah Rom 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

Rom 9:19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

  • @con1ah @con1ah You need to put away that thing called human pride which somehow tells you that you are the author, even the first cause of your salvation, because according to you God only chose you because of something you did. It is human pride and not meekness that makes the soul puff up and fiercely deny a Sovereign God's right to choose, His right to redeem sinners without them having done ANYTHING to earn it!

  • Good call JameMcockle!

  • I just wish everyone who believes in a Judeo-Christian religion would stop procreating so our world can be smarter and more harmonious.
