  • this is the first time im hearing the allman brothers and i heard about them but never came around to listening to the this is such an awesome song

  • Thanks for posting. ABB is a big part of my history with the love of my life. Wish I could call him but no matter how good the phone, it won't reach into the afterlife. I should have stayed.

  • Tryin to reach my soul! For my freinf & brother Jeff never forget someone has your side, don't need a reason PLEASE understand you can always call Home! I send to my teenage daughter once in a while so she understands she can ALWAYS call home! Peace. Rick

  • I been listening to the greg only version, this one is raw and tasty. Something about brothers playing or singing together that does it for me everytime.

  • Songs with true meaning, a breath of fresh air.

  • fantastic!

  • Yep.

  • VERY UNDER RATED AND ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR SOLOS EVER!!!!! VERY SMOOTHE WITH A LOT OF SOUL!!!!!!!!

  • @0757drsj I agree. Nothing flashy but tons of heart and soul. I prefer this stripped down version to the later version on Laid Back by Gregg.

  • awsome!

  • Sweet song from Idlewild South..Duane and Gregg together-pure bliss.

  • This is the song that sets Greg apart

  • "A bit underated song...."

    Way under rated.

    Way

  • my first year in college!............GREAT Memories!

  • My favorite song from Idlewild South. Before they combined them into Beginnings. The growth from the first to the second album, and then to the Fillmore West Album is just incredible. I have a 1970 Fillmore concert, and they got way better in a year on the definitive album. Hurts to imagine what Duane would have done.

  • @surfricy And where they could have gone with Berry Oakley, as well...

  • If only musicians still made music like this my life would be complete

  • My heart ain't in it, but I'll hold the door...

  • What a sweet set of memories. One life, many loves. Thanks for posting one of the best love songs of my life.

  • @Symeezgurl You're very welcome...Thanks for your kind words..Tom

  • Gregg's Voice and Duane's Guitar. Damb.

  • I've seen this band 12 times In Clarkston, Michigan....it's not enough....Absolutely love this band......Awesomeness in the purest form

  • Nothing sweeter than the sound of Gregg's amazing voice...

  • Nothing sweeter than the sounds of Gregg's amazing voice...

  • Undeniable pure soul! It makes me cry sometimes it's so soulful!

  • One thing is for certain..... There will NEVER EVER be two brothers, like Duane and Gregg Allman, on this planet, ever again!!! There are just no words to desrcibe how their music touches people!

  • @0819Marlene How about Dick and Tommy Smothers?

  • Comment removed

  • @0819Marlene It was a joke you obviously didn't get.

  • This man's voice and the story he can tell with it is so underrated !!!! The words are powerful, but they are more poignant because they are being spoken by Mr. Gregg Allman ....There is no other...

  • I Remember

    I've been home before

    So have you...

    I remember the closing

    Of a closing door

And the things that people do

When they say they love you

    M.S. Morrison

  • one of my favorites,,thx for posting!!

  • 1970...

  • @juannrocks You are correct, my mistake...but corrected it...hope you liked it just the same

  • @TheGrabsplatter sorry liked it better when it was wrong, just how i roll.. hahaha just kidding. only thing important is you uploaded a great song for us to enjoy and thats exactly what im doing. thanks..

  • This song is powerful, in that it expresses sadness, love and a little hope as well, and I think everyone has or will feel this way at some point about someone, I do about someone right now, and I listen to this song to kind of ease that pain, great tune!

  • I think he is talking about Duane....

  • I came across this song as i was looking for it after hearing it on a film called LAST LIGHT with Kiefer Sutherland starring and Directed the film about an inmate on death row. Perfect song for the film.

  • I love this song!!

  • excellent.

  • sad, heartbreaking song.

  • This is the real deal the musics tight and greg is on point....although there are more popular Allman songs this defines the genre

  • Oh yeah. Forgot to mention. I saw Gregg Allman and Friends about 15 years ago and actually liked them better then the present day Allman Brothers.

  • Yeah, I just watched the a Beacon Hill video of this song with Derek and Warren and even though Greg's singing it's just not the same. I saw them live after Duane died and they were still great. After Berry died it's just not the same. Don't get me wrong. I still think they're really good. Just not great.

  • I forgot about this song for a long time. Understated and powerful. Thanks.

  • First time hearing this...Wow! What a great song! Thanks for the upload :)
