Thanks for posting. ABB is a big part of my history with the love of my life. Wish I could call him but no matter how good the phone, it won't reach into the afterlife. I should have stayed.
Tryin to reach my soul! For my freinf & brother Jeff never forget someone has your side, don't need a reason PLEASE understand you can always call Home! I send to my teenage daughter once in a while so she understands she can ALWAYS call home! Peace. Rick
I been listening to the greg only version, this one is raw and tasty. Something about brothers playing or singing together that does it for me everytime.
My Dad was the drummer for "Two Guns-Balls Out" a band signed in 1979 by Capricorn Records with the Allman Brothers. Check out their music on youtube if you love classic southern rock n roll!
My favorite song from Idlewild South. Before they combined them into Beginnings. The growth from the first to the second album, and then to the Fillmore West Album is just incredible. I have a 1970 Fillmore concert, and they got way better in a year on the definitive album. Hurts to imagine what Duane would have done.
One thing is for certain..... There will NEVER EVER be two brothers, like Duane and Gregg Allman, on this planet, ever again!!! There are just no words to desrcibe how their music touches people!
This man's voice and the story he can tell with it is so underrated !!!! The words are powerful, but they are more poignant because they are being spoken by Mr. Gregg Allman ....There is no other...
@TheGrabsplatter sorry liked it better when it was wrong, just how i roll.. hahaha just kidding. only thing important is you uploaded a great song for us to enjoy and thats exactly what im doing. thanks..
This song is powerful, in that it expresses sadness, love and a little hope as well, and I think everyone has or will feel this way at some point about someone, I do about someone right now, and I listen to this song to kind of ease that pain, great tune!
I came across this song as i was looking for it after hearing it on a film called LAST LIGHT with Kiefer Sutherland starring and Directed the film about an inmate on death row. Perfect song for the film.
Yeah, I just watched the a Beacon Hill video of this song with Derek and Warren and even though Greg's singing it's just not the same. I saw them live after Duane died and they were still great. After Berry died it's just not the same. Don't get me wrong. I still think they're really good. Just not great.
this is the first time im hearing the allman brothers and i heard about them but never came around to listening to the this is such an awesome song

@0757drsj I agree. Nothing flashy but tons of heart and soul. I prefer this stripped down version to the later version on Laid Back by Gregg.

I Remember
I've been home before
So have you...
I remember the closing
Of a closing door
And the things that people do
When they say they love you
