You make beautiful music and beautiful lyrics. There's life around every word you sing, thank you for making the world a better place by filling it with meaningful music =)
just listen to you for the first time and you my girl are what real music is all about you should be proud to give your talents to our day dreams much love sam
I love puzzles, so this smoking related videos thing got me going. I figure, if you search for a video the results show text from the description, starting from the end and counting backwards up the description about 160 characters are displayed. In this videos case the following:
So good to hear you again, Leesha. This one is so buoyant and happy, musically. Don't hold me to it, but I may take a stab at covering it if it's alright by you =D
I cruised in here from the Great Ronald Jenkees web site! Seeing as how he's the greatest thing that ever lived, be it animal, vegetable or mineral, you are gonna be FAMOUS! woo HOO! btw thanks for putting your songs on Amie!
Hey Leesha! This is great! The rhythm, the singing, the lyrics- it all goes together really well. Congratulations on the new website, it looks great! I just added you as a friend on MySpace as well. Take care!
Cool new song. I like the parts where you stop and slap the wood. I don't know why the music industry is in shambles. If talent scouts want to find talent all they have to do is browse through YouTube and find you. Great songwriting!
After a few listens I am reminded of Aesop's fable "The Tortoise and the Birds." It's not a well known fable, but a good one. Basing your lyrics on proverbs is wise for this bestows a timeless quality to them that is very appealing. It doesn't hurt that your music is enchanting and the performance is top notch as well. Oops, I better not boost your ego too high or the sun will melt your wings.
I'm going to have to check out that fable... I've read Aesop's Fables, but that was years ago... and my memory is a little rusty! :D But the wings melting sounds like Icarus!
There is a lovely site (aesops-fables . org . uk) that has a complete list of the fables. I've been slowly reviewing them all, in between listening to your stuff and collecting old movies and tv shows into playlists for my channel. Well that about sums up my life at the moment, lol. Well I gotta go do the dishes.
If and when this CD gets done, I will definitely put all the tracks online to purchase--so you should be able to get them even in Switzerland! Thanks! ;-)
Welcome back, my friend. Love the new song and am so proud of you. You went from never doing a single gig to preparing to do a full length one in a handful of months. And now you have your own site and an album coming out! Look at God! Praise be to Him. I thank Him for you, you remind me that He is faithful to fulfill His promises and even our dreams.
Thank you, Omar! His faithfulness is indeed mind-blowing, especially considering that there was a time in my life where I thought I would never be able to play piano again (due to an injury)... and then just as quickly as I thought I'd lost it, He gave it back to me "pressed down, shaken together and running over"! What kind of grace is this? What a gracious, loving Father we have!
As always, a concise telling. Your transparency allows your words to flow so true and close to your soul that you automatically touch the same place in ours. The common thread of Truth and humanity sewn with precision and knowing binds your listeners. We feel as though we know you because you so eloquently express the tuggings of our own hearts. Melody, lyric and spirit all in accord once more. You're brilliant, but remember - there will always be dishes to do along the way! ~Jon
Jon, I tell you, your comments get more and more poetic! You could right the guide to "How to leave uplifting, inspiring comments on YouTube that will make a musician's day!" Appreciative and humbled as always...Leesha.
Leesha, I hope you achieve all the success you every wanted to have from your music. I know from this song the message is clear that whatever happens you will be grounded in the faith that always holds you close to the people you love.
I think is my new favorite...it has such a great chord progression and just sounds like a time weathered song that has already proven its worth. You can really tell your musical influences in this. Glad to see your back! I'm hoping that I will have a few more vids up soon, but I hate using the webcam it's hard to get relatively decent sound quality with it. Aces to you by the way for this 5 star work.

Leesha...this is so lovely! Your lyrics are astounding and the performance is, as always, peerless. As for that ending... lol...gotta go do some dishes...completely charming!
Great to have a new vid from ya, Leesha! Really cool tune, the lyrics are amazing, really well crafted, from the first stanza it's like a smack in the back of the head that says pay attention or you'll miss something! Dig the new website, Really nice setup that seems to fit you, casually elegant, and thanks for posting up those MP3's at such an accessible price, just curious, why is the one a penny more than the others? :)
The prices are different because I'm selling them through Amie Street, a site that has a built-in system that rewards people for buying tracks from unknown musicians. All songs start out free, then as more people download them, the price goes up. If listeners recommend the song to others, they get credit in their account to buy more songs... it's really cool! Check it out at amiestreet(dot)com.
wow thanks. I might just wanna write a song about that too. I love writing songs about weird english words. I once road a song about a "barbershop". so funny:P

Best of luck with your upcoming headlining gig! I'd be there myself, but it'd be a three day drive, so, well... um, good as you are, uh, what with gas prices and all. (shrug) So hurry up with the CD, huh?! Can't wait for that! =D
noliketoregister, thanks for the clarification. All playfulness aside, here is where I truly have 'a heard time getting my ahead around' the Proverb Leesha puts out as this song's inspiration. ...Her music always fills me with an urge to compliment it. But now she's a throw me (us) a paradox... Compliments are kinds like 'kisses' ... And I have ZERO desire to 'wound'... So what's a poor paradoxically confused Sub like me to do?

The lyrics are very beautiful and show a great lyric-writing maturity and sensibility.
The lyrics could even work just on their own as a poem - which is not true for all songs, and shows the real strength of the words.

Leesha, yes, I think I figured out that proverb. We should never trust anyone who tries to kiss us, and respect people who beat us up!
...Or is that an over-simplification? XD
cyberwanderer 4 years ago
Salutations.
Excuse the intrusion, however perhaps an alternate translation might clear up your purported confusion.
Proverbs 27:6 (King James version)
"Faithful ARE the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy ARE deceitful."
Full caps used in lieu of italics.
Cheers :~)
