  • Hahahaha, oh sethbling. "You know how girlfriends are" xD

    Very nicely done :P

Oh, you might want to check your download link; a lot of people here say it's broken.

    Keep making videos! :)

  • dl link is dead

  • download link is dead then now i haz to try building it mahself ;(

  • but if that's there where will the house be?

  • why do you always click your tongue when u make a point?

  • It tried making a seven digit system, but it is not possible due to the distance. Perhaps if the controls were at the midpoint instead of the end it would work. I did cheat on my version, I used the wireless redstone mod which made thing SOOOO much easier. It took me at least an hour to work all the bugs out, even though my version matched yours perfectly (besides the wireless). I do have to use a minecart with a chest in it or it won't work.

  • if you push a buddin

  • "Cre... Credit goes to her... but of course i built the whole thing"

    ROFL

  • Broken in 1.0... The powered rail that is pushed will not lose its power when it is dragged back

  • There is just one problem,if u press all buttons fcrom left to right six times it will open =/

  • @TehNoiz Nope, each time you press an incorrect button, the cart will return to the first spot. You really do have to press the buttons in the correct order.

  • @sethbling It says 404 error for the download :(

  • it doesn't work on 1.0.0 :(

  • Link broke :(

  • for me, it works in my test world perfectly, but when I put in my other world, the track between the powered rails would turn towards a rail I dont want it to go to. i am a bit dissapointed

  • "you know how girlfriends are"

i know someone who aint' getting laid today xD

  • in 1.0.0, some tracks retain power causing the minecart to skip or fail all together, it seems to be a block update bug

  • @TheAssassin409 There's ways around it though.

  • @TheAssassin409 You just have to apply a block update to the part fo the rail that is powered. I'll try to upload a video of how to do that if I have time later today.

  • 404 - Not Found ....

  • Nerd.

  • why is their one dog who dislikes

  • do a tutorial plz!! :)

  • I finnaly get it!!!!!

  • nevermind i get it

  • wouldn't it only reset if you pressed yellow?

  • Im using mincraft 1.8, for some reason, tracks dont get moved by sticky pistons, u think u can update this or something? or maybe help us find a way around it?

  • Comment removed

  • this is cool

    well done!

  • you could also add an alarm to it. same thing like u did with the confirmation notes, except a different note combination. and mayb adding a clock in between would be cool so the alarm will keep going until u shut it off :D

  • lol 123 videos

  • does this work in 1.5?

  • My pistons don't move track. Is this new?

  • Isn't this actually a permutation lock?

  • Your girlfriend seems pretty cool...

  • So simple and useful. Brillliant

  • Hmm, very intersting yet simple to make and use,

Im gonna make one of these for my house cause i want to have a door bell system, but i dont know how to get in when i leave without making a hole in the wall. Ill use this = D

  • This is epic but simple

  • thatsssssssssss epic

  • I was just being myself when something horrible appeared. I wasn't subscribed. It's ok now, I fixed it.

  • you make the most epic stuff!!!

  • Does this work in 1.9 prerelease 3? In single player for some reason some parts of the main track will RETAIN the power from the reset track, ruining the whole system. This must be a bug with the actual game though. I'm unsure if it's like this in SMP. Is anyone else having this problem?

  • @Barozine I actually think I saw something like that in 1.8 SMP. Interesting.

  • @sethbling This minecart combination lock is really great! :D i am am making a binary one that is infinitely extendible for super long combinations (yay!) all because of this great idea!

  • @Barozine I'm having the same problem. It's really annoying.

  • @Barozine Hey, I found a solution. When the minecart hits the sensor track have some redstone connest to track and it resets.

  • @Barozine y i had. i built a second piston for each code and a second resetline to push the rail back. and i put some dirt between the piston and the rail, so that the rail isnt next to the piston.

this version works in 1.9.3 too

  • @Barozine Same problem

  • 2:20 rain has been turned off..... I AM GOD!!!

  • Wouldn't it be easier to use Logic gates?

  • Dude i dont think you are an addicted freak... no i dont think you need to get a job, and yes your videos are amazing!

  • This is EXTREMELY more compact that mine that used redstone.

  • EPic!

  • How do you get extended reach?

  • @bwjclego I've actually built and tested this E/W in SMP, so I know for sure that it does work.

  • @sethbling You are right, it didn't want to work for me at first, but with enough coaxing the machine worked great. This is now the most effective locking mechanism i've seen yet.

  • I would LOVE a tutorial on this xD I've been trying to figure it out for a solid hour now...

  • it doesn't work with 1.8.1 :(

  • like the idea, wouldn't be to hard to break the combination though...

  • @Kasry123 there's 3125 possible combos.

  • @QueAwkwardNoises well in theory there might be but because of the auto reset you can guess it quickly...

  • @Kasry123 It isn't theory. It's fact. With five colours (possible 'combos') and colours can repeat, and it's 5 clicks, then it would be 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5. That is 3125. Combo locks irl have automatic resets. Please, go open a combo lock in 5 minutes. Without knowing the combo.

  • @QueAwkwardNoises s'cuse me i had a fault in my way of thinking :) i thought you d be able to hear when the cart gets pushed onto the reset track again which of course makes no sense the sound s the same when it gets sent to the next bump or the reset track... :D my bad

  • @Kasry123 No worries!

  • 1 dislike XD

  • Sorry Seth but it does only work (i dont exactly know wich of it) facing north east west or south ?? coused by the railconnection ..

  • PLZ tutorial

  • great invention but needs a punishment...which would be very easy. u'd need a second return trak tho. then on the first return trak have a pressure trak that activates whatever punishment. and the second correct code trak bypasses the pressure plate.

  • Great invention! Although I found out that this only works if the track goes North-South or South-North. If you try East-West or West-East, then it won't work properly.

  • @Barozine is that what is making my version go wrong when the pistons push the track? when the pistons retract again the track stays as corners instead of returning to streight and it breaks the whole thing. its had be scratching my head for a few hours and getting quite angry ;)

  • @Sephnroth Yep! That is exactly your problem. Although it might be some work to move it, try to have the tracks run N-S or S-N, and your problem should be fixed! Kudos to Seth for an awesome invention (and his girlfriend)!

  • @Barozine is that what is making my version go wrong when the pistons push the track? when the pistons retract again the track stays as corners instead of returning to streight and it breaks the whole thing. its had be scratching my head for a few hours and getting quite angry ;)

  • Wow your girlfriend is awsome :P

  • I love you

  • can you co a step by step tuttorial?

  • yeah pretty simple >_<

  • when the pistons move the tracks move and it screws it all up

  • thanks, i looked up your vid like you wanted me to and it did help. a lot.

  • Is it possible for it to be longer, say, using all 16 wool blocks?

  • @Tyralash Yep. You'd just need to use more repeaters to get the signal all the way across.

  • @Tyralash Okay, but it seemed like if they got it wrong, it would only extend for just the right amount of time to reset it.

  • If you dig in the sand to the right of the contraption a ways you will find a chest with random stuff! this is a true fact

  • If someone who didn't build the design was trying to use it, could there be a way for them to know that the combination got reset and know that the cart needs to reset? I feel like people would just be impatient and try it again immediately

  • One thing with SMP and minecarts is that booster rails behave weirdly on slopes

  • Wow, your girlfriend seems maybe even smarter than you, sethbling.

  • please tutorial xD

  • Genuis! This will help me with an adventure map that I'm working on. Thanks to you and your girlfriend.

  • Can I ask about which mods you are using?

  • I'm finding this to be really finicky in SMP, it never works with the reset line set to 4 ticks and it'll sometimes work when I have that line set to 7 or 8 ticks. I'm thinking that minecarts don't quite get moving as quickly when you tell them to on a server. Did you make any tweaks to your original design to get it to work in smp?

  • @iamjonathanware Nope, exactly the same design (rotated by 90 degrees). I have noticed SMP servers create different minecart behavior at different times.

  • @sethbling

    First of,awesome work

    Secondly:

I want to use this to open a secret piston door, but so that it will stay open, not only until the end of the power sent from the detector rail.,and so that I can close it with a switch,or by pressing one of the lock?s buttons. How could that be done?Would be kind if you'd help me.

  • @Intaminator You'll want to have the lock trigger an RS NOR latch, and a button trigger the reset of the RS NOR latch. MinecraftAddict has some great videos on the topic.

  • @sethbling

    Thanks.

  • @sethbling

I used your map and modified it a bit to make a Pistondoor that closes as soon as the code is wrong.I'd like to upload it,but only if you're okay with that.I just have to fix some small things before I'm done.

  • @Intaminator Go for it. I do these things so that my viewers can use them for awesome.

  • @sethbling

Thanks! I'll send you the download links of my finished work if you want.I'm almost done with the basic map.

  • Comment removed

  • Something worth mentioning ... all of those powered tracks must face North/South otherwise the tracks will turn improperly and it won't work

  • @tbttfox You can actually turn all those unpowered tracks into detector rails and this won't happen, even east-west.

  • Its hard eh, giving credit to your gf:p

  • thans seth bling´s girlfriend

  • Thanks for the credit hun!

  • gf is a minecraft pro:p

  • Can't you make it so if you enter the wrong code then you will hear a noteblock sound so you know it was wrong =) Like a bass sound =D

  • @Thakrulll You could, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of a combo lock. Just keep guessing all the buttons until you get the first code correct, then repeat with the second, third etc. It'd probably be a good idea to add a "reset" button so you can make sure the cart is in the first position when you enter the code.

  • @sethbling It could be good to have if you forgot how many times you have pressed the buttons. And you don't know where the cart is in the system. So if you have a reset that would work to =)

  • dude... i would thank the lord everyday if i had a girlfriend who played minecraft as much as i do. cheers to you mate

  • @drumanddrummer465 Nah, she doesn't play as much as me. She plays a little bit, and watches my videos. She came up with the idea of putting a bunch of TaviRider's destination selectors (I used them in a couple of my videos) together to create a minecart-based combo lock, and I developed the idea into this.

  • This is incredibly simple solution compared to a pure redstone one. It looks like it can even handle the same button multiple times in a row correct? eg: green, green, red, red, blue, yellow, yellow? The only problem with it I see is it seems slow to reset and you have to wait quite a while between button presses. Still, the simplicity makes it awesome.

  • You know how girlfriends are.

  • does that work in smp?

  • @JaiRizm0it Yep, I've built and tested it in SMP, works great!

  • nice. tutorial at some point?

  • good one =)

  • cool idea !!! So I figure instead of the note block's I could install some kind of door that would open, right ?! :)

  • @maximilianwessel Yep, that's the idea.

  • LOL, what's your GF's channel?

  • @Nonefrog She doesn't have a channel.

  • @sethbling fine... I 'll settle for her number :P

  • you do not need to set the first station to reset back to the first station when you hit the wrong button.

  • That's a cool lock. :D

Can you tell me the amount of right clicks you need for each note block for that tune pls? :$

  • @cxgamer None on the first block, 7 on the second, 12 on the third. It's called a power chord.

  • @sethbling Thanks a ton! :D
