  • Hauntingly beautiful. Every time i listen to them sing this time i get goose bumps.

  • I am captivated by all of them! Their voices, faces, smiles, charm, everything! However, I personally like Kathy best- she's freaking pretty, sounds like an angel and she sings alto, like me. :)

  • I too really liked Janet, partially I just thought she was way cute and also because her sisters seemed by comparison so grown up to me.

  • Lennon Sisters > Kardashian Sisters

    Enough Said.

  • @TWilson6250 ..BS...the Kardashian sisters are trash...these girls had class.

  • I can't pick between them. I'll just take all of them.

  • Sorry everyone, but I was always partial towards Janet - I think her eyes sparkle, but maybe only for me :)

  • AM I the Only one "in love" with Kathy lol..apparently Peggy was and still is the "little darling" of all male posters in this page :-). THey are all beautiful, indeed and each one of them had that special look in their eyes and very precious smiles.

  • You all know they are old ladies today, right.... The youngest is well into her 60's .... The two oldest Dianne and Peggy retired, both in their 70's. Some of the comments kind of creep me out..... Take a cold shower with some saltpeter. Yes it is very angelic and sweet, before my time but I appreciate it. I love the SNL spoof on the Lennon Sisters where one has big forehead and tiny tiny hands.

  • Four of the most beautiful and precious girls ever.

  • LADY GAGA, GO CHOKE YOURSELF TO DEATH...!!!

  • Left to right... Kathy,Dianne( DeeDee), Peggy and in front, Janet !

  • Please tell me their names:

    Top:

    Bottom:

The one with the LPB on her dress:

    The other one:

  • Janet is such a showgirl at such a young age. The way she moves her eyes around is precious.

  • great video, allways love this song.

  • Even Kathy is more attractive, and the littler one is cute! I dunno, i don't get it!

  • Ok so i jsut figured out who is who, and Diane is by far the prettiest. Peggy's forehead isn't proportional!

  • @SerendipitousJ - Are you an engineer? Peggy's forehead isn't proportional? Do you keep Tuperware in your China hutch? I am trying to be polite, but I have to know what's wrong with you.

  • Which one is Peggy?

  • @SerendipitousJ On far right

  • The angels in Heaven could sound no better.

  • I always thought Diane was the most beautiful but when Kathy grew up she was my favorite. All so pretty though.

  • Natural talent at it's finest.

  • HEY! You guys leave Peggy alone. Me & Peggy go back to the 50s. Staying at Grandma's house on Saturday we were "subjected to Lawrence - but staring at Peggy, and sometimes Kathy, got me through.

I would have married her on the spot.

  • Peggy paid for her beauty -- a crazed fan murdered the girls' father years ago.

  • @smokinzack Definately no fault of Peggys, everybody loved her!

  • @smokinzack You are correct. I grew up with them, went to elementary school with them and their brothers. I will never forget the funeral for their wonderful dad Bill. That was in August, 1969. Bless their whole family.

  • so wholesome

  • who's Peggy?

  • @vladlenko2006 The one of these 4 beautiful girls that's on the right !!!

  • @fordman4444 I see.... the youngest girl is so funny :))))) she looks like my mama in her childhood

  • You're hitting close to home now. I used to watch it as a kid in '58-kool! They're such a beautiful group of excellent singers. Regards, '62 Mathew St. (Total Retro Rock)

  • Brings back memories of my mother. She used to hum this song when I was a kid. Thank you.

  • @DominicPrudhomme Well of course it's based on the Chopin melody -- it's a direct lift, and done on purpose.

  • @DominicPrudhomme Sounds like a big hit from the 50's to me !!!

  • Note that every sister is performing the song with different facial expressions. They are not like four puppets on a string. There was never a sense they'd been instructed what to do every second but rather that they'd been beautifully rehearsed.

  • All four are lovely. But if I were, say, a 14-year-old boy living in that era, I would have had a major crush on that youngest one Janet. Oh, that smile just knocks a boy over!

  • These girls were genuinely talented. You don't hear young women that sound this well anymore. Just skanky Brittany Spears, and hanna Montana.

  • how far america has fallen.

  • What is the the song name by the Lennon Sisters that has the lyrics, to be "Pretty and Rich".

Google search for Mobile Audit Club for a few fragments of truth from the front lines of the American Holocaust.

  • hmmm...polonaise by chopin

  • I too had a sever crush on Janet.. I grew up with her and was forced to watch the Welk show until she came on .. from then forward.. everyone else had to watch Around me.

They sang at Melodyland in Anaheim CA.. Diane introduced her parents and they were sitting in the first row right in front of me.. After the show, I got down to her dad and asked to meet Janet... 30 mins later I was standing there talking with the sweetest petite young lady I have ever known.

  • EXCEPT the dancers and MY LENNON SISTERS. I LOVED them then and I love them now. I was TOTALLY in love with the youngest of those stars. I tried to call her phone but my parents wouldn't let me make a long distance phone call.

  • These days I LOVE ALL the Lawrence Welk Shows. When I was a little kid I couldn't stand most of the silliness of the program EXCEPT

  • I will have to agree with you 100%. Dee Dee is the perfect "Girl next door " . No doubt about that, but my heart still belongs to Peggy, she is just the prettiest ,sweetest little gal I have ever seen !!!

  • Peggy seems to be a favorite of many who are commenting here. I have always thought there should be a picture of the teenage Dee Dee in the dictionary next to the phrase "girl next door." And, like, millions of others, my reaction to Janet has always been -- "Isn't the little one adorable?" But they're all lovely and talented, aren't they?

  • I wanted to grow up to be Janet Lennon! (or Hayley Mills...LOl)

  • This is the kind of decensy we lost , nowadays all you see seems stressfull and rushing while a song like this one is soothing , i miss the old days .(even if i still am young .)

  • @iscrapman I miss the good old days (even if I'm 68)

  • Gee I love U tube.....

  • Wow look @ young singers today, mostly trashy.

  • UNCLE JOHNNY would be Proud -

Uncle Jimmy Lennon - a master Tenor in his own right- and the announcer at the downtown Los Angeles Olympic Arena -

and famous big Band Solo male featured singer-

  • Oh,Peggy with those beautiful, beautiful eyes, you are the ultimate !!!

  • good, amazing, this is a re-edited version of the hero impromtu of Chopin. sweet. meaningful.

  • That Sounds A lot like Chopin Polonaise op.53

  • Only the sweetest melodies need apply.

  • That's because it is, with lyrics. Too many shots of absinthe? ;-)

  • That's because they were sweet girls. They were decent sisters. Unlike the skanks now like Brittany Madonna et al

  • I cherish this time period and these memories!

  • I'm just old enough to remember when they became tabloid fixtures, especially Peggy--in the late sixties they were on almost as many movie magazines as Liz Taylor and Jackie O. Those were the days...

  • I remember all those mags. They kept trying to find a scandle on the girls but never could!

  • Yeah, the stories were so tame, so lame...but the glossy magazine covers were BEYOND melodrama!

I LOVED those old movie magazines! Still do. Years ago I stumbled into a little place called the Nostalgia Shop that had all these dusty cardboard boxes filled with old Photoplay, Movie Mirror, Rona Barrett's Gossip and the like--for pennies each--and my reaction must have convinced the store owner that I was having convulsions. lol!

  • Oh, yes, Pretty Peggy! She definitely is the stunner of a beauty. Peggy will always be special to me, too, because she's just sooo dreamy.

  • She resembles her wonderful father, much more than the other three. Probably not many people outside of family have seen his pic, but she does resemble him. Sad he was killed in 1969.

  • Peggy certainly is the stunner of a beauty. She will always be the absolute Livin' End in my heart.

  • A time when beautiful music was still easy to be found!

    A classic!

One of the all-time great "girl" groups!

  • can someone please name the girls as they are standing?

  • kathy on the left, dianne on the top and peggy on the right --little janet in the middle. it is kathy who is the stunner of a beauty, not peggy--hehehe

  • They are all beautiful, but Peg is just special to me!

  • Kathy-DeeDee{Dianne}- Peggy-and Janet in frt.

  • they're blessed sisters.

    BIG THANKS to GOD.

    and thanks for uploading.

    in such olden days,

    true singings prevail!!!!

  • Peggy sure is a captivating pretty little gal. The way she sings straight to the camera is so romantic... and she does have perhaps the most beautiful eyes and loveliest smile on the planet!

  • Yes! Peg is the MOST in my eyes ,, But the other girls are just as beautiful and cannot be left out!

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, yes! Peggy is sooo beautiful...with the most beautiful eyes and loveliest, most precious smile on the planet, Peggy will always be the dreamiest!

  • Oh!!! Peggy,How beautiful you are !! The most beautiful eyes on the planet...

  • This is a very difficult song based on a classical theme. It almost defies feeling because it has no highs or lows. The Lennons through a thoughtful and clever arrangement develop the song to its maximum potential.

  • @waynebrasler The sisters all aged well; I think that's traceable to having early show business experience in taking care of one's health and appearance, and of them all living family lives where home life was kept as normal as could be under the circumstances. Their religion also played a role. By all accounts, their public selves were their private selves and they didn't feel squeezed to play roles in the interest of public image. They enjoyed life and people.

  • Thank you shirlgirlwhirl for this posting.

How cute was that Janet Lennon? I don't think she has changed that much since!!

The Lennon parents, sadly deceased, must have been soooooo proud.

  • Heavenly !!!

  • The Lennon Sisters will forever be my favorites! I collect their memorabilia and I too love my Lennon Sisters snack tray :-) I have it all displayed in my kick back and relax den :-)

  • I will love these girls and all their singing "till the end of time". Every performance they do is so amazing. How many other fans have the Lennon Sisters-Lawrence Welk collectible snack tray on the wall or shelf of their favorite room like I do? Their smiles just make my day.

  • I do, I do! I've got their cute 50's snack tray mounted right above my TV, so their wonderful smiles are the first thing I see in the morning to start my day!

  • Yes Simonski Sisters, please! They were awesome.

  • Beautiful girls singing so beautiful. Could you please post at least one Semonski Sisters video, preferably one of them singing the some song that the Lennons have song so I could get a comparison? The Semonski Sisters were hired after the Lennons left the Welk show; I could not find one video by them on youtube.
