  • Great info!

  • Thank you for sharing. Very helpful, I am ready to start planning to help my family and others. There will be some hard times ahead, more so than we have ever seen. I want to help if I can. Thank you for helping me. :)

  • Thanks for the info, it help me find bags of wheat. Next time i go i will ask about corn and oats.

  • Excellent video!

This is what I'm talking about, people helping people! You see these punk kids protesting, they don't want 'corporate accountability' they want free school, free healthcare, free money, and they want to take it from US.

  • I stand corrected , after I talked with some friends and some research . We do get some nutrients from corn in the form of starch . And this is needed in our diets as a whole . However we dont get near the amount from FEED corn which is what is sold for animals and doesn't taste near as good as sweet corn . If you want corn in your preps then take some frozen corn and dehydrate it and to less that 4 percent water and then package that away .

  • The human body doesn't digest corn . If you are gonna store dry goods then beans and rice are much better as the body will digest and process these instead of just passing it thru .

  • @KSPrepper Absolutely correctly, though I suppose it is as much a mental thing as anything. Beans and rice, beans and rice, beans and rice. Toss in corn, and all of a sudden your meals just got 50% more interesting! That and it's just filler, really. At like $18 for 100 lbs you really can't go wrong with getting a single bag. Just don't store it like MKMason did... store it PROPERLY.

  • @KSPrepper I have never heard that Corn is not digustable. Thx, I'll look into that. I swore that was what was making my kid so tall! Native Americans used corn as one of 5 major foods, two others I can think of are beans and squash. I'll post a list of "my essentail" foods next week for anyone it might help save time?

  • Yes, food for human consumption must meet higher standards than animal feeds, but the growing methods, aside from organically grown, are the same (some exceptions). If you store pancake mix, flour, corn meal for very long, you will have bugs feeding in the containers because the eggs were packaged with the product. The only effective way to combat this problem with dry goods is to store the product in sealed containers with nitrogen gas, then all you eat are the eggs. Corn bread, really? Taste?

  • @algae1000 I heard about a product called denatured earth. its like crushed up sea shells and stuff that you can add to your dry goods. the compound drys the insect eggs out and kills them before they hatch. aparently its mixed in at grain cylos to help combate bug issues.

  • Doesn’t animal food have to be held to a higher standard then human food?

I store whole corn. I put it in 5 gallon cans and put in the freezer for a month. then again after a week. I will tell you if I find a bug. Ground corn cooked in water taste alright a slight bit sweeter then grits add salt sometimes flavoring. You can make corn bread also but that requires flour.

  • It is true that all grains are grown in pretty much the same way with regard to fertilizer, fungicide and pesticide application. It is in the handling and processing post harvest that distinguishes what it is purposed for, humans or animals. (Exception is organically grown) I don't think many realize, though, that feed corn for animals and people corn are completely different in taste and palatatability. Feed corn tastes like tree bark and has little sugar, but if that is all you have,.....

  • @guywhotalkshotair123 When the "S*it Hits the Fan" ;-)

  • @Laurafisher480 My first job was at a McDonalds. Trust me. You don't want to know what goes into some of those foods. Especially the breakfast egg products. Disgusting stuff.

  • untreated grain is edible for both man and beast. Also if you can't flake or grind it up you can spout the grain for you and your animals and have way more nutrition.

  • untreated grain is edible for both man and beast.

  • I HIGHLY recommend you do NOT buy 'unknown field grain' to can and stock, or to further-dehydrate and stock. Ask ANY farmer who is familiar with modern seedstock...most commercial grains and seeds for agri-farming is now divided into NON-HUMAN-CONSUMABLE and FOODSTOCK. There is soybean that you cannot digest, but makes good fuel-oils, and corn that makes lots of oil for fuel, but is bad for human digestion. Don't buy indiscriminantly for your bugout stocks!

  • check out places like Amish communities, the one I go to sell a lot of bulk items very cheap. My family go there twice a year and load a truck full of grains, flour and herbs for cheap, and another plus is they bake the best stuff.

  • So, where can we actually find these grains in the cheaper large quantities as shown here?

  • I tried this. I spent alot of money buying animal wheat and feed corn, it all was filthy and the corn had millions of bugs in it. It was very moist and went bad quickly. I think I should have stored it the day I bought it.

I will not try this again, it's just not worth buying filthy food.

  • @mkmason2002 I'm not sure where you bought from but we've never had that problem. It also depends on the environment the feed is stored in before you properly store it in mylar bags, a damp room will cause your food to become moist and spoil. Bugs will infest all foods if given the opportunity.

  • @MrsNewAmericaNow diatomaceous earth food grade, use it to kill bugs, mold. works well. it will bring plants back to good health too.

    Has human health uses also.

  • @TheMarcusMark Be careful with the use of DE even food grade, it's basically microscopic glass. I would think since we know things can get stuck in the gut so can this and cause a lot of problems. You can't use it on goats because it interferes with them absorbing nutrients. Does the same thing happen in people? If you spray this stuff on the flowers, it will kill the bees. Ants also help pollinate plants too. Just to many negatives for us.

  • @MrsNewAmericaNow Honestly MKMason either either BSing, or he just bought the bags, slapped them down on the dirt in his shed, and then came back after summer - after the rats and bugs had gotten into it - and then cried about it on YT. If sealed correctly with O2 absorbers and in buckets this stuff will last ages.

  • @Jaenus80 very true!

  • Not a good idea to gamble with your health, using animal feed.

If times get *really* bad, then maybe it's worth the risk.

You get what you pay for.

  • I worked in feed stores and mills for many years. Feed store grains are not dried down enough for long term storage, it will rot in the can. Animal grains are processed within days of receiving and then sent directly to the farms. Its not economical to dry down grains for animal feed. Also feedstore grains very likey have weeval infestations, which can infect the food already stored in your home.

  • The difference in some of the products for humans or animals is the handling. Salt for salt licks is the same (as the well-known brand of table salt) but is transported, handled and packaged very differently. Toxins are not in the salt, but in the truck used to haul it or on the processing equipment. The same care is not taken with products for livestock as that for human consumption. I wouldn't recommend using animal products unless there was no other choice. There is a difference.

  • the walmart by me has 50 pounds of wheat for 10bucks

  • NO it is NOT "the same food". Animal feed is normally not as dry as long-term storage food. I helped a friend throw out 500 lb of animal feed grain from 1999 that molded in the can after he stored it. Also animal feed has a higher allowance for aflatoxin, a known carcinogen.

  • @loganv0410 I guess it all depends on where you get your feed. Human use processed food does not succumb to fungus as easily also because of the high levels of preservatives to increase profitability. NutraSweet and Saccharin is also carcinogenic and FDA approved. My feed is dry and stores well. There have been many scares of aflatoxin in peanut butter, and other human use foods. Which just goes to show you, no matter what they tell you, you don't really know what is in your food.

  • @loganv0410 your own experience should tell you that the stuff in the stores has been processed to last longer. the feed store/coop is selling oats/wheat/barley, whatever, that is unprocessed and better for you if you process it yourself. and the idea is not to buy it and store it for years but to buy what you think you will use in a certain amount of time and just keep rotating. however buying anything in bulk at the feed store will do you no good if you don't plant on processing it.

  • @loganv0410 YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!

I watched this and then went out and bought a lot of these foods. They rotted and bugs where EVERYWHERE. 10000's came out of one bag! The store owner argued about selling them to me as he said that it wasn't fit for human consumption. He was right. I lost money on this advice.

  • @mkmason2002 Then you did it wrong. Either that or you were hoodwinked. Either way, try it again if you can afford to spare $12.

  • Thanks for all the links and wonderful info! We have limited storage space but are storing all we can afford and this info will stretch our dollars!

  • @Iamrdy2go your welcome! I hope it helps you!

  • Hi, where can you buy the listed food at these prices? I'm not too clear on that.

    God bless us for eternity!

  • @TheCrystalRiver Animal feed stores. The Mormons have their own warehouses too with great prices. We don't have one within 6hr drive, so it's not cost effective for us. You can also google dutchvalley foods for great prices too and check for a location near you.

  • good info

  • @bodyguard2301 Your comment has been removed because as we have freedom of speech I do not have to allow it on my channel nor does it have anything to with food or preparing. Another comment such as that will get you blocked. Mrs.NAN

  • so how would you prepare corn like that? what about cleaning it for humans

  • @zcrazyhorse4me You wash it then soak the corn a day or two depending on the amount desired and cook. Much like dried beans. Mrs.NAN

  • Gawd I love this song, makes prepping feel more ... American. Does that sound odd?? lol. In any case, I am becoming a fan of your vids. As a long time prepper I am still learning and it's nice to know you're not alone out there. Keep the faith!

  • @ellorybockting Thank you and do keep the faith.

  • Great video and info! Thank you, sharing. God bless.

  • It is true that the govt is very aggressively moving forward with controlling how we obtain our food. I am halfway through the process of selling my own goods, (would prefer not say exactly what), and the red tape is unbelievable! Between the permits and requirements..unless you have a large start up fund, you couldnt even try. I do live in CA which is one of the most controlling states, but all the same...the patriots that fought in the Revolutionary War must be rolling over in their graves.

  • @MissNevada08 Yes, all with the help of S.510 the FAKE food safety bill. Scare people into giving the government more control all in the name of safety! I'm sure the founding fathers are banging their heads on a cloud somewhere...lol. You can catch us talking about this and much more on our radio show at thewatchmen (.) fm sat and sun 4-6pm est and blogtalkradio (.) com sat 9-10pm est. Thank you for the post! Mrs.NAN

  • @MissNevada08 Have yo looked into becoming sovereign? Remember the government is nothing but a company now . You dont have to do buisness with a company if you are sovereign and dont want too! go to Mary Croft on YT or get her on line pdf book. It's free on line. Just google Mary Croft and her pdf book will show up.

    Good Hunting

  • @deec269 I will check it out...thank you!!!

  • Heres a better idea go to your local hardware store get some seeds of your own and grow your own for free

  • @ARM3Percenter Can you grow a 100 lbs of corn that cheap? The answer is no, it will cost more than that to water the plants. The idea is to have plenty stocked away, so when you have to grow and depend on what you harvest no matter how little you harvest it is enough until the next years harvest. It's a lot easier to grow and look for food when your full and not starving. Hunting is not easy and knowing wild edibles and natural medicines will be a must! Mrs. NAN

  • @NewAmericaNow dude if its in the garden let it go dont water it! the rain will do that for you

  • @survivalairgunner Have u ever lived on a farm or grown ur own food? My grandparents had a farm and we grow our own food. U can not always depend on mother nature to supply the right amount of water. You will have to water ur garden if u want to produce vegetables.

There is a water war going on in the west for just this reason! Look up water rights for Nevada and California, lets not forget Georgia and Alabama are starting to fight over water too! It sounds simple until a drought hits. Mrs.NAN

  • @NewAmericaNow yes i do live on a farm in northern pennsylvania must get a lot of rain here

  • @NewAmericaNow And it's illegal in Colorado to harvest rainwater. The water that falls from the sky belongs to the government. Is that insane or what?!

  • @Sherri119 Ur kidding right? How can that be enforced? Mrs.NAN

  • @NewAmericaNow "Colorado Water Law requires that precipitation fall to the ground, run off and into the river of the watershed where it fell. Because rights to water are legally allocated in this state, an individual may not capture and use water to which he/she does not have a right. We must remember also that rain barrels don’t help much in a drought because a drought by its very nature supplies little in the way of snow or rain. Also, water from your faucet may not be used twice. Sent link

  • @NewAmericaNow Yeah it's true and completely insane. One of the reasons I'm glad I don't live out west. Of course the lower population is a draw.....

  • @Sherri119 Actually for more than a year it has been legal in Colorado to harvest rainwater. Agreed that it was insane for many years though!

  • @Sherri119 Like I give a shit if it's illegal. I'd still do it anyway lol. You should too :)

  • @1XMarksSpot I don't live there, but of course I'd collect the water. I was just mentioning it to show the lengths gov will go to, to try and regulate...even the very raindrops that fall from the sky. Insanity! Heck yeah I'd be collecting it! LOL.

  • @Sherri119 You should also know the govt is trying to make organic farming and growing your own food illegal also. Look into that if you haven't already. Oh yeah, Join "Campaign for Liberty" :)

  • @1XMarksSpot I'm well aware of HR 875. It's all about government control (two words that should never go together).

  • @Sherri119 S.510 is the Fake Food Safety bill that will put small farmers out of business due to the new red tape. Leaving the mega food companies that poison our food as the only food suppliers. It's creating food monopolies, HR 875 passed that is why it is so important to stop S.510! Mrs.NAN

  • @NewAmericaNow You're right, my bad. (Been up for 2 days and not thinking clearly.) But I do know what you're talking about. I know Africa (am I off track again?) has been devastated by this very thing. Africa aka Monsantoland. Can only grow x-amount, and it's murder, literally, if you're caught growing real food. Control the food, control the people.

  • @Sherri119 Good for you! Please join "Campaign for Liberty" if you haven't already :)

  • GMO feed grain means RoundUp-ready grain. THere's no one making sure a farmer doesn't spray RoundUp on his fields one week before he harvests. After all, it's only animal feed and no one will notice!

  • @allencrider So, we don't consume the chemicals in the feed by eating the animal? That's insane! The toxins will build up in your body over time. There's a lot of cancer going around. As I stated ask your local feed store for organic feed! When people are starving they will eat anything. Would you rather have animal feed or no feed? Animal feed is oats and grains like the cereals you like to eat. By the way the ready made oats that people buy have NO nutritional value, check it out! Mrs.NAN

  • Lovely!

  • I am not willing to eat the grain from the feed store. I have seen how its handled. I hardly want to give it to my livestock.

  • I was always under the impression that animal feed was sprayed with insecticides that are banned on human feed products?

  • @MrBillTroop73 Do you really think that a farmer has two different fields, one for animals and one for humans? that would be to costly, the difference is that one says Quaker Oatmeal and the other says animal feed, its just like in the clothing world, your paying for brand name nothing more.

  • @adamslurch71 No, I dont think one farmer would have two different fields, , , , I do think that one farmer would dedicate his whole crop to feed, and would treat it accordingly. Am I wrong?

  • @MrBillTroop73 Yes, like I said before your just paying for a brand name. It's about where they can make money, theres no difference what so ever in the type of grain, or how its treated. if an animal can eat it and we eat that animal why cant we just skip the middle man and eat the grain ourselves?

  • @adamslurch71 If you're correct, then I fully agree.

  • @MrBillTroop73 And before anyone out there jumps on me for this I guess I should say it, the difference between Animal grade grain and Human grade grain is that Animal grade is washed twice and Human grade is washed 3 times, So there you have it, one washing difference. Id be happy with just one washing, hell I would even do it myself if I could get it cheaper.

  • @adamslurch71 LOL! I'm with you on that! And you're exactly right.

  • Also folks.. Craigslist!!!! I get tons of free stuff for gardening and canning form people that think they don't need it!!

  • @wiseroldowl See under more information to the right you will many helpful websites

  • Did someone- dog dewormer on themselves?

  • Thanx!! Great info!

  • Please don't forget to check out the links under more info and the new link for BT Free cotton products as StarrJaded has made a very important video

    watch?v=NkJtmDlvUQ8 for more information!

  • can get good medicines at some feed stores too. i used dog dewormer to rid myself of some pesky SE asain worms at a fraction of the cost vs pharmacy.

  • Good ideas and real bulk prices

hard to beat that except dehydrate your own extras in meals and spoilage.

    thanks

  • Just found your site!

    You are a blessing !

  • Am buying my wheat for $16 / 50lb. bag. A little more than feed cost. BUT it's certified organic seed. That way I know it's not GMO, or treated.

  • Love ur videos. Where do you buy ur wheat? Its a horrible thing when you go to the store and read all the ingredients of the food and there is GMO or toxic chemicals in it. I love how they tell us the chemicals are not deadly but more people have cancer than ever before, too much of anything is bad.

We should never feed our meat animals anything that we are not willing to consume, as it will be in the meat.

    Mrs.NAN

  • I get's my wheat down at the ol' feed store too. "Aint" so spensive there. LOL

  • Thanks! Just tryin to list more places to buy from. On a different note, have you ever fed your goats parsley? It's a natural dewormer but our goats will not eat it.

    Thanks, Mrs.NAN

  • Hmmm parsley eh. I'll have to try that one

  • Let me know if ur goats eat fresh parsley!

Natural alternatives maybe our only choice should commercial dewormer be unavailable. Mrs.NAN

  • Let me know when.

  • don't forget to check out all the links on the right!
