I've just discovered Cibo Matto recently, through Buffy was the first time I heard them but after getting in to them only over a few weeks ago, What Fucking genius! Their fast becoming one of my fav bands of all time....!!!!!!!!
Ah man! I just had a random thought to look for a video of there's here. I love this album. Love Cibo Mato and LOVE Jon Spencer Blues Explosion! Damn it. Why didn't they make a 2nd album. I'm glad there's other Butter 08 fans out there.
I think this is what Jesus sounds like. I found out about this band like a month ago... what the hell happened, I think they're all still alive for the most part.
Oh my god! I tried to find this song for soo long.. I loved M2 when I was in highschool (graduated in 97) would record it at my dads house then play the tapes all week long at my moms..Ya-basically loved M2 thank you fro posting this.
Mtv (M2) was so cool in the 90`s. You would come, sit down, turn on M2 and watch the hell out of music videos. Usually by people who were actually playing instruments! Seems like a bizarre concept today. Kids today just don`t realize how badly they`ve been screwed by the big corporations . Cable TV used to have BALLS! ( anyone remember USA`s NIGHT FLIGHT ?)
See that little M2 logo in the corner? It's from 1996-97. Savor it, because that's the last time MTV had any sense. Now it's MTV2, and it's quite possibly the worst channel on television.
I still have some M2 tapes back at my parent's house that I recorded my senior of high school. It was commercial free TV, and 100% videos that ranged from Devo to MC Lyte. That channel helped me survive through the worst bouts of teen angst! It is an absolute trip to watch those tapes now not only because of sentimental reasons, but because it's mind-blowing to see how badly MTV mangled a really great thing.
I still can't believe it... It's like I wake up from a coma... And things are turning into bullshit at a pretty fast pace. I tried auditioning for and M2 veejay position during its last year as an actual decent channel. The former president of MTV/VIACOM said this a couple of years ago. "the days of JEWEL to TOOL" are over. Reminded me about your DEVO to MC LYTE comment. The fuckin' kids are being duped today... Yeah, pretty much everything I uploaded help me survive teen/human angst even today!
Still remember this album !!! Glad to hear Butter 08 now in 2011, thank you to Cibo Matto !

World Trade Center in the background, St.Vincent's on the left (their right) and MTV actually playing music videos.... ah, the nostalgia.
