You can convert them and put them in cars. A guy I went to school with put an olds 455 marine motor in an old cutlass. I don't really know what all would have to be done to it to put it in a car but it's possible I suppose.
@CrazyWoody1989 The valve train would have to be tweaked again going from marine which give higher torque to car and truck cams lobe sep about 106 where marine is 112 to eliminate overlaping and back pressure.
@inoldswetrust Engine water exits out the exhaust through special manifolds. Marine engines just suck up water around the vessil and spit it out for cooling.
