I remember back in 89 having to BEG my mother to watch this show because cable was more of a luxury back then and we only had it in the living room! This was back when supermodels out ranked actresses in the media and they were seen as stupid.
I miss this show, MTV sucks now, Julie Brown is so hot and sexy and she's so much funnier and more witty and intelligent than that obnoxious cunt Chelsea Handler. Julie was always underrated and had a great pair of nice big tits.
This is a time long gone - when MTV took risks and put on whatever they wanted to show. When they found talent in the underground comedy clubs and gave them a chance. Those days are long gone now its all about whats gonn make them money a sure thing if it doesn't produce massive amounts of money and sponsors it's not going to be on. God I miss the 80's
@suspekt29 are you being sarcastic with your reply? You must be under the age of 25. This is fresh it was new and original/ edgy for its time and MTV took risks and aired this. Now if it doesn't pull in massive amounts of money they won't even consider airing it. What do we have now Snooki makes me f*cking sick!
@urbanjournalist No, not at all. I watched this show when I was in 6th grade many moons ago, Loved watching this, Remote Control, Half Hour Comedy Hour, and the top 20 countdown when Paradise City was #1 for months, and Liquid Television a few years afterwards. I don't watch MTV anymore. I was just agreeing because I miss the way things used to be.
I was working as a fashion photographer in South Beach when this came out. If I had a dollar for every time I or a crew member would say "Quick! Painting or a sculpture?"or spit our gum in our hand and go "Look! A model's brain."
@kelleyskitchen I had it on video tape(dont know what happened to the tape....) Stacey was eating something and had a cockroach in it, Julie cracked a joke saying it was beloved Disney character Jiminey Cricket. And then introduced the Bangles"Walk Like An Egyptian" and called it "Walked Like An Eggplant" "Look, Susanna Hoffs is about as confused as you are"
I think I was the only 5th grader who listed this as their favorite show EVER. I'm a little older now (okay, a lot), but all these years later, and now I realize where my slightly warped sense of humor came from.
From Just Say Julie to Jersey Shore........
MTV has definitely gone downhill.

Contrary to medical science, models can live a normal model existence with little or no brains at all. She will be fine. I enjoyed this!
