I have to admit...that now I have gone and looked at a bunch of West Coast Swing...and maybe I'm just old now...but none of it looks like swing to me. On the other hand...it's ALL great dancing...and there's nothing wrong with that!

I,m from Fortaleza, Brazil and frequently I use to see WCS videos, essencially from Swing Diego, I like Arjay, Jordan, Tatiana, Melissa, and this is the 1st video of you, Tessa, and... I loved soooo much! Here in Fortaleza there's a course of a frind of me. He started to learn and study WCS one year ago, now there are some people dancing and we are trying to make it grow up step-by-step! I love West Coast Swing! hehehe

Nice dance! I wish I could do WCS but all they teach here at Swing Kids is ECS and Lindy. I think there are a few classes that teach WCS but it is nearly impossible to find a partner that will dance WCS at all. :\

Even though we learn salsa, cha cha, mambo, bolero, mexican cumbia and a bunch of others for latin, I've heard that WCS dancers tend to make excellent latin dancers.

They do, because they're used to leading and following in many of the same ways that social latin dancers (i.e., salsa, cumbia, bachata, merengue, not ballroom latin) do. Not to disparage ballroom, because I love that as well. It's just a different style of dance and partnership.

the dance is very good, but in germany we doesn`t have schools for learn WCS. and i think 3 weeks holyday in the USA or Canada are not enongh to learn it.
