  • who made the copy of your wal bass? and how much did you pay for it? id like one!

  • Nice bass ...good cover...

  • best bassist on youtube

  • @streetkicks14 oh no, not at all :D

  • fuckin SICK. badass cover! really helped me to get this song down, thanks bro and keep rockin!

  • Fuck yeah, remiiiiiii is back

  • It's funny because I went outside and there was a box of kittens crushed by a bunch of Harley's. Does that mean I need to unsubscribe?

  • Just perfect.You're really talented.

  • this is epic your tonality sounds just like the song!!

  • dude, bad ass cover. Does your hand get as tired as mine playing this one? I can't make it all the way through.

  • @oceanminded050 Thanks, well my hand is trained so I'm not really tired after the song ;)

  • @remiiiiiii Thats kinky xD Excellent cover, helped me a lot :)

  • @Valkery09 I'm glad it did ;)

  • @oceanminded050 yeah tbh playing regularly gets rid of that.

  • that's sound amazing!!!

  • very nice playing I have to say. What equipment do you use to record yourself on your computer? do you use any effects or just straight the the PC? let me know thanks

  • @andbaggio I use my live setup (bass > effects > amp > cab), then I use the amp DI + a mic in front of the cab > into my audio card. Bye

  • Awesome cover bro love the sound and your bass

  • play your own music!

  • @jeepaleep meh.

  • @remiiiiiii Hey have you gotten any notes saying that you can replace Justin

  • Nice custom man, sounds fantastic and great playing! If you don't mind my asking, what pickups and electronics are in it?

  • @TheGallery213 thanks, well ... the preamp is irrelevant (in passive mod the sound stays the same), and the pickups are custom pickups ;)

  • What assurance do I have that I'm actually saving a kitten by subscribing?

  • @remiiiiii you're awesome man!!! and i really like your taste of music :)

  • @Dacho1995 thanks ;)

  • does anybody here know where i can get a wal bass online or in canada.

  • @bennlolzzz Maybe on the official website ? :) walbass co uk. I'm not sure about the shipping though

  • @bennlolzzz Do you have $6000 to spend on one?

  • @MajorImpact no but i'm 3 quarters there with 4500

  • @bennlolzzz I don't know what kind of bass you have now, but you can see (hear) from this video that you don't need a Wal to sound like you actually have a Wal. This guy's tone is killer and I'm sure he didn't spend anywhere near $6000.

  • @MajorImpact would a rickenbacker do the trick for this sound

  • @bennlolzzz It's not so much what brand or type of bass as it is what kind of pickups are in it. Copy & paste the links below and you'll hear 2 completely different tones from P-bass pickups, one old school R&B and the other much more edgy.

  • lol this sounds so pretty... but its sooooo repetative... that sequence is repeated 60 times x.x... thats before it changes for a few bars... and back to it...

  • fan fucking tastico..

  • I am actually a guitar player but because of TOOL I just had to buy a bass - those bass lines are to die for!!!

  • @hotlion81 now that youre probably broke from buying bass...have fun buying the effects

  • @yomammaonastick broke? I would be broke if I would finally get me a VH4 and super bass ;((((

  • I like your Sterling more :)

  • What video editor did you use to make this?

  • @Lordgout adobe premiere

  • judging by your orange musicman, and your orange jazz bass....

i bet you really like yellow :)

  • Perfect timing along the whole song. Brilliant cover.

My fave tool song along with Third eye.

  • awesomeeeeee

  • very nice.....is there a electric version of this?

  • @doodman73 ??? what do you mean ?

  • @remiiiiiii - sorry....i found the electric guitar version of this.

you sound great and i wasnt bad mouthing another one of your songs, your timing is great just saying justin does not always use a pick. some slap bass is in there, give it a shot for 46&2

  • @doodman73 It's an electric bass, dude.

  • Thats a fucking awesome bass!!!!! What kind??

  • @Bellarc007 Wal.

  • i can has kitten?

  • I love this song too. The name really fits the song.

  • Best Cover of This Song i've ever seen. Which Bass Guitar is this? =)

  • This song tell us so many important things...

    Nice cover, Remi!

  • wait, so your going to kill a kitten if we dont subscribe? i dont know if i agree with that.

  • Are you doing a down stroke and upstroke in the beginning riff?

  • ROB?????

  • @Wolvve ???

  • @remiiiiiii is that the same bass chancellor has???

  • @streetkicks14 no, this one is a "copy", custom made by a luthier

  • Do you recommend the Musicman Sterling? Also where did you buy yours? Thanks :D nice cover as always

  • What pickups are in this amazing custom bass of yours?

  • @jambi880 customs :)

  • @remiiiiiii Haha okay, made by who?

  • @jambi880 stagg :3

  • Salut.

    Electronique active, micros custom.

  • I enjoy your covers Remiii.!!!

  • As I always says: Brilliant.

  • man your bass is a beaut! and it sound fantastic!

nice playing and timing -not to forget :)

  • whats the difference between buying a wal and buying the same pickups and strings as justins's wal and slapping them in to $150 ibanez?

  • @yomammaonastick you won't be able to find the pickups separatly

  • Oi! @remiiiiiii Can you make one of your videos more trippy? It would be awesome. BTW me and my friends watch ur videos all the time. ur a excellent bass player dude. ^^ Greetings from Denmark.

  • @IvarAkaAqqalu more trippy? What do u mean ? Sorry my english is not perfect

  • @remiiiiiii Like... uhm... like... Have you ever been high? I mean more cameras for example . Of the camera suddenly turns around. U know . More trippy ^^ I cant really explain it . Maybe the others can explain it for me ^^ BTW where u from?

  • @IvarAkaAqqalu yes of course :o well spining a camera will be difficult and I wan't people to be able to learn from it ;) you can come to see us live and spin your head :D

    I'm from france btw

  • @remiiiiiii I meant not literally spin ur camera xD I mean like more camera effects. That sounds awesome! xD That's a deal. Hahah! xD

  • i just saved a kitten.

  • What kind of pickups are in your Wal-look alike? I'm looking into pricing for one like this

  • I wish I had the money for a Wal.

  • @cestoiber117 me too.

  • @remiiiiiii Haha did you rent this one?

  • @cestoiber117 there's no wal on this video :o Read the description.

  • @remiiiiiii Oh haha. Well damn, where can I get this? Sounds just like it!

  • @cestoiber117 Walmart.

meh. You can't, unless you make it, or ask someone to make it for you ;)

  • i love u man! *-*

  • 3 people are ghey for brad.

  • I though I left my Cd player on, then walked back and realised it was you playing. Cant think of a better compliment ;P

  • What pickups are in this bass?

  • Hey Remiiiiiii. I'm little new to the bass, and I feel I have everything covered... except for effects. Any advice?

  • fuck yesss! favorite song on lateralus. you nailed it. good job bro.

  • Comment removed

  • Any1 else bake to this song??

  • @Maxpow33r yep

  • @Maxpow33r who doesnt

  • @Maxpow33r and every other tool song

  • Great job man, this song is my favorite and is a materpiece of music.

  • thanks remiiiiii, your videos are awesome

  • where did you buy this thing of beauty?

  • The main riff you play is sounds so smooth. Is there a trick to it? because I cannot get it to sound as smooth as you (you play it really well)

anyways great video thanks for sharing

  • @Cyc1on3 just practice it ;) again & again. You'll do it fine I'm sure.

    Thanks for your comment

  • very inspiring remiii, brilliant cover mate. your timing is spot on, it's taken me a while to get the rhythm of this song and seeing your vid has helped immensely. I love the repetition of the riff in this song, good for practicing absorption-concentration! I haven't seen you or toolbassplayer do a close up of ticks and leeches - there are a couple of parts in that song I'm stuck on...

  • @remiiiiiii hey remiiiiii, the youtube time limit is now 15 mins so can you upload the unedited version if you still have it please?

  • @username125418 I know, I have it, but anyway it's not very important, there's just a few seconds more at the begining & end than this video. If you really want it, I can put it on megaupload or something.

  • @jennadrumss LOL. Remi I have gotten a few of these comments before. "Chveux mettre t'enfents au monde"

    LOL.

  • I subscribe too, your cat is nice^^

  • this shit just makes me want to learn it

  • Awesome man! You just inspired me to wanting to learn this song on bass.

Reflection is one of my favourites cause it's very groovy, the bass has a whole different energy in this song than their other songs. It's mesmerizing!

  • How much you paid for that bass? i really likes it. : p

  • @ToolIron 12 000 € !

    nah :p less than a Wal ;)

  • @remiiiiiii now i dont know how much that is because i livesin Canada. : p how many of those equal 1 dollar?

  • Kitten SHALL LIVE!!!!!

  • T-shirt, pants, bass, me subscribing to save a kitten? can my day get any better??

    : D

  • @ToolIron thanks :D

  • Just saved a little kitten

  • @Armazillo you did the right thing ;)

  • Whats a good site to make a nice Custom Bass

  • @TheSlashed1 warmoth ?

  • OMG TSHIRT!!!!!!!!

  • @MeDiaTrUck yeah, I have pants also !!

  • @remiiiiiii

haha and i have a tool sweat ;D.

oh and je ne sais parle français pas? o.O haha.

nice covers !! Congratz from spain :D

  • @MeDiaTrUck thanks

  • Oh, and also, you can tell that it's not an exact copy of a wal. The pickups aren't the same. The Wal has pickups that are a little bigger. I think these are just soapbar pickups from the person who made his bass.

  • @MegaDysfunction and not the same bridge, preamp, woods

  • @remiiiiiii Yeah, but it still sounds like a Wal. By the way, I have a question. Do you have to hook up a pedal board to your amp to use the pedals? And if so, how do you hook up the pedal board to your amp? because I was going to maybe get some pedals soon, and a new bass.

  • @MegaDysfunction It's not the bass itself that sounds like a wal. Believe me, it's mostly the Sansamp behind who gives that "tool-ish" sound.

And I'm sorry I'm not sure to understand your question, I don't "have to" use a pedal board, but I have some effect so that's why I'm using it.

By hook up you're asking me how it's attached on it ?

  • @remiiiiiii Yeah I mean attatching to it. But my question was, do you need a pedal board to use effect pedals?

  • @MegaDysfunction I use velcro.

You don't need a pedal board, you can have your pedals on the floor, it works just the same. Having a pedalboard is convenient is you do regular live performance. If you're just playing home for yourself, it's not mandatory at all.

  • @remiiiiiii Thanks! You've been a great help, once again. Going to maybe pick up an EBMM Stingray..

  • @DaJames911 He's a very skilled bassist. Very few people can hear music, and copy the sound they hear. I, myself, play almost the exact same way, but I look up tabs if I'm having trouble. TOOLBassPlayer has some tabs. tooltabs(dot)net he should have a good tab for this song.

  • pretty close but in the opening riff with the major 6th cord, a slide from the second fret to open A is played. listen more closely to the track

  • lol whered you find justin chancellors bass

  • @TheBassSkater it's not

  • @remiiiiiii i didnt mean like his his, i meant like the same kind, i saw them in concert and your bass looks exactly like his

  • @TheBassSkater no offense ;)

    It's a copy in fact :)

  • @remiiiiiii cool :)

  • Where do u get the tabs for this and all ur other videos? Because all of them are like perfect. Please respond.

  • @DaJames911 ok, I respond.

Like I say in the description of the videos, I'm not using any tab. Use your ears

  • I've been following your videos, I like how you play, the sound that you take. And I'm hoping to get something made for you!

  • Great job, as usual !

  • Awsome cover Remiiiiiii, very well performed!

  • good stuff man! keep it up

  • Sounds good... Very nice tone and audio. I wouldn't be shy about deviating a little and throwing in more of your own stuff here and there. You've obviously got the chops for it.

  • There are 2 kinds of people who play modern electric bass.....people who are sincerely good at it and can play almost anything by ear with practice, and those are barely good enough to play scales but insist on making covers of songs to put on youtube which are terrible. You are of the former category and are kind enough to put GOOD covers on youtube. Thank you.

  • ye do rosetta stoned <<<<<<<. mighty good job on reflection :D

  • Im glad you covered this. Such a great song. And cool riff.

  • very good man

  • 7:10 =) ']]'{[]}{[]}[[_

  • what kind of afx should i get for my ibanez btb470 to get this sound or would it be better with my epiphone thunderbird?

  • Nice cover Remi :) thought of you covering this today and when I got home and saw you really had was a really nice surprise :D thank you for yet another awesome cover :)

  • @TheMrMentlegen I read in your mind ;)

    Thanks for your comment

  • another great bass cover! you never cease to amaze me.

  • Thats a pretty sweet bass!nice job dude!

  • another great cover =) do u play in a band?

  • @4000bobster thanks, and yes I am

  • @remiiiiiii I love the tone on this. Awesome job. This is about as perfect as perfect can be. One more thing, you should try doing Rosetta Stoned one day. There is an extremely short list of people that can ACTUALLY master it on bass. (Myself included. Only problem is I do not have a video to show for it but I may in the near future.) Thanks and awesome playing as always.

  • thanks.

Rosetta Stoned is planned, I keep it in a corner of my head ;) I will do it probably this summer. I still have to learn it though :D

    Cheers

  • @remiiiiiii i'm looking forward to that man. Keep up the sickness

  • @4000bobster Remi has some cool video's of his band if i'm not mistaken it's called "The perfect tool". check em out.

  • @crimsonakd aww thanks man ^_^ i will:P

  • this bass is gorgeous man!
