I am a huge fan of Caballe when she was in her prime, but it's very sad to listen to her now. She really should guard her legacy more carefully: retire, pass her knowledge on to younger singers and withdraw from performance.
i would give anything to hear this great lady live, no her voice is not what it once was (incomparable) but i simply don't care she is a legend. singing for her is like breathing and if it keeps this beautiful, warm lady on this earth then may she sing on and on!!!!!!
Since the 90's Caballe has inhabited her own world where declining vocal resources are completely ignored and she happily keeps on compromising everything, abetted by an adoring public who loves every thing she does, good, bad or indifferent. I guess if she's happy and her audiences are happy, why not? Perhaps artistic integrity and respect for the composers are not so important after all.
How courageous she is ! Second rendition is much better... She knows everything about the voice... and especially how to sing with a damaged voice.

This is not so bad at all, moving infact ! Theres more to opera than pure even notes.

As she once said, "No singing, no life." I understand why she goes on.

How beautiful it could be....
Of course, too late : 70 years old ! damages are important.
BUT a moving testimony of her art of singing.
Really thanks for this document.

Poor Montsy, grande diva didn't know when to say goodbye to stage. This is atrocious, and a stain on the legacy of this incomparable artist.
