The PS3 web surfing is blocky and sluggish. Most 360 owners already have a PC in their home. Surfing the internet on a gaming console when the computer is right next to it streaming videos(and the computer is much better at web surfing) is just dumb.
You won't be able to update for free. You'd have to buy the disk. Or even like lefty said, download it. Google bit torrent and read about it. He's giving you a hand here. Also, type 'define:os' in to google. 3rd one down.

its an os. like windows xp. thats it. i have a media center pc and have a copie of media center xp i got wiht it and simply installed it on my crappy laptop. not hard. you just can't buy the os seperatley like you can xp. and media center been around for years. since xp first came out
