Piaf said that the street was her conservator...o yes sounds very good for a roman,but art means so much WORK!...Mireille all her life made vocalises and studied with canto teachers.The result it is so evident than i am totally perplex to find so much frenchies(paradoxal) that contest her NR 1 merit in french music at least.
To have pardon but Piaf is only a chansonnete voice,not a vocalist.Her voice is based on a impressive vibrato very romantic and nothing more about truly great musical problems of canto.Don't forget that chanssonette is the most easy genre.What Mireille managed to do with her voice reflect her great talent and work for something superior like pure voice.
