  • wow I love her! I'm glad we (USA) at least lost to an amazing group of gymnasts

  • I just love how cheery she looks :) Her smile is infectious!

  • i wish the americans could be this good on bars

  • i prefer her bars over kexins. sure kexin has astounding difficulty, but jiang yuyuan just is amazing, shes so good at every event!

  • woah lots of people leaving pissed comments.... lol why are americans getting called racists? everyone talks shit at sporting events, the losing teams more-so, especially at ones THIS important... it doesn't mean americans are prejudice against the chinese... why does everything have to have a racial undertone?!!

  • U.S. media and some American gymnastics fans bash Chinese gymnasts all the time. What have these lovely Chinese girls done to them? Is it just because they won over american team? Or is it because these media people and gymnastics fans are just bad losers or ugly racists? Instead of being absessed with gymnasts' ages, they should talk much more about u.s. athelets' drug problems and there have been a lot of cases!

  • love the leo <3

  • watch?v=RtB5VLxOBsQ a video of jiang yuyuan when she was 12 y.o in 2003

  • First Asian team ever to beat U.S, let's go China!!! Jia You!

    Greet from Myanmar

  • some americans are paper tigers ^ ^

  • Cute.

  • @russiangymfan so what nastias dismount looks weird its alot harder than yang yilins and he kexins and jiang yuyuans dismounts

  • @msms68 It's actually worth the same ...

  • @msms68 Alot harder ? then, WHY is it still a D? Nastia used double front half out because she cannot perform double layout well.

  • Jiang didn't complete a lot of her handstands.

  • she has such a covergirl smile

  • while jiang is very good on the bars, she seems to me to be a bit off-line on a few of her turns and pirouettes. it just looks odd to me, like she doesn't really know when to stop turning. also, she has labored kips, like he kexin and yang yilin. don't fool yourselves: while chinese gymnasts have great elegance and skills on the bars, all three of those girls have dead hang.

  • With gymnasts like He Kexin and Yang Yilin in chinese team, none consider Jiang Yuyuan.. but she is very good on bars! China is the best in this apparatus..

  • She is going to 2012 London Olympics and being the oldest

  • gorgeus honestly

  • Omg! She;s like, so happy all the time! Did you see her smiles?

  • Ahahahah the first thing the commentator says is "huge disapointment for the russian team!" hahaha. i don't remember anything bad happening to the russians though! who messed up?

  • @xolemonlime2 If I remember correctly, the Russians had already fallen off the beam twice by this point (Pavlova and Grebenkova).

  • great!

  • Jiang will be 19 years old on November 1, 2010.

  • how old is she

  • @h3yITSbelle ur an idiot...u cant even spell "cheat" right...they were screened and the FIG deemed them age eligible so eat it....chinese was the better team nuff said..

  • Its ust so incredible their body position is like perfect! their so tidy and neet and their legs are like literally glued together unlike some other gymnasts that get deducted for untidy feet i dont think theres even such deduction among the chinese team!

  • she is soooo adorable!

  • Did you see the sour looks in the Americans faces?

  • @h3yITSbelle Asian girls do look younger in general compared to their Caucasian counterparts. It's sometimes hard to tell just by looking.

  • @theurbansoul Americans have a bad face, jealousy!!!

  • @mortella23 I didn't mean to put them down at all. I'm sure they were focusing. I just found the expressions on their faces amusing. I really like both the American and Chinese teams.

  • wow, she's a pretty good bar worker...i didn't even know! go china babe!!!

  • Davy: do you think Liukin's frog-like dismount should be written into history book? More one year has passed, we still see many sour losers here!

China had the best bar team at 2008 Olympics! Kexin He, Yilin Yang and Yuanyuan, wow, what could be better with such team on bars?!

  • aww... the princess of smile

  • I love Jiang Yuyuan, and this routine is great, I really hope to see her at worlds in 2010 <3

  • "She's also the only Chinese gymnasts without labored kips on the high bar, "

You're lying! Yang Yilin does not have dead hang, and Ke Kexin does not have dead hang most times. But Liukin has frog like dismount every time!

  • I didn't say dead hang, I said labored kips. Yang Yilin has labored kips even though she does everything else SO well.

Agree with Nastia's dismount. It's so ugly, so unlike the rest of her gymnastics. When rewatching her bars routines, I turn away right before the dismount. The rest of her routine is beautiful, but her dismount is so ugly.

Why does she even do that dismount? Any additional A points are canceled out by form deductions.

I love Jiang Yuyuan! She makes the bars look so easy!

  • Luikin should just do a double layout, its much better than the fugly double front 1/2 and she wouldn't lose any difficulty because they're both D elements

  • I don't think she could still perform this dismount - She's a bit too tall I guess

  • Thats true, i still think she should do a backwards dismount because her front ones are not very well executed.

  • I think she should go for a 2½-twisting dismount. It's a D, it's original, she lands forward so wouldn't put any pressure on her ankle and it doesn't incur built-in deductions other than the crossed legs. She might even get it named after her!

  • Liukin is so UNEVENTFUL on bars.

  • @russiangymfan

I disagree, He's hangs were horendous, at these games atleast.

  • @russiangymfan Are you kidding me? Saying Yang Yilin doesn't have labored kips is like saying fish don't swim.

  • @russiangymfan

And why does the dismount matter so much if the rest of routine might have been quite well executed? I BET MY DANG MONEY on it that if the people on the American team weren't American and on the other teams they wouldn't be bashed.

  • @ThePingShowJL

    #1

I know you guys are green but I can't help jabbing a little fun here :D

You say why does a dismount (the ending of a routine) matter so much? Okay then. Let's say, you have a good ride home from school but you hit and kill your beloved doggie on your driveway when you get home; does that constitute a wonderful journey back from school? I think your parents (the judges) will say that you suck.

And tell the American commentators to stop bashing others, then, maybe, you might...

  • @ThePingShowJL #2

...find it justifiable that you should think nobody should bash American athletes.

I know I shouldn't be bothered to respond to your comment right here, but your clueless-ness just shot me through the roof; well, maybe I'm not as matured as I thought...sh*t happens...

  • @longdoydoy

I don't think that. I'm just tired of that. I'm not clueless.

  • @ThePingShowJL It is true that people bash each other, like all the time. Maybe I should have said all of us need to wake up.

  • @russiangymfan yang yilin and he kexin do frequently have labored kips, especially when they catch the high bar after stalder or toe-on transitions, however I agree that both of them have better form than liukin on casts to handstand and particularly on dismounts

  • @russiangymfan What's labored kips?

  • @russiangymfan He Kexin doesn't have dead hangs most times????? What are you on?

  • <3 jiang yuyuan!!

i really do hope she continues for 2012...id love to see her and deng linlin make another olympic team.

  • What makes her bar routine special is that when she's on the high bar, she's so *light*.

She's also the only Chinese gymnasts without labored kips on the high bar, though she suffers from that in the low/high transition because of her small size.

  • excuse me, what are kips?

  • Kips are what you see when she hangs on the bar before her casts to handstand.

  • wow, she's so small, it makes the bars seem miles apart, especially in her Pak Salto.

  • wat a comeback from her vault b4 that she rlly didnt let it get to her

  • Yuyuan is NO.1 . I love Yuyuan .

  • Excellent! What was her A score?

  • It was a 7.1 according to NBC. Her quals A score was 7.0 so I wonder if one of them is mistaken, or if she added something in or had something downgraded during quals.

  • Interesting... thanks for finding!

  • That's the difference between the US and China on bars. Jiang Yuyuan, who is the weakest of the final three, had a start value 0.3 higher than the second US gymnast (Chellsie Memmel).

The difficulty average was 6.97 for the US but 7.5 for China!

As the NBC reporters said, this isn't probably the best bars team in the world, it IS the best.

Jiang Yuyuan is awesome! (so are her teammates, but she's my favorite!)

  • Omg, I know! She's great. She definantly should have won a medal in FLOOR! or at least UB...she's fabulous and I really don't understand, when Comparing her to Nasia Liukin, how Nastia placed higher than her....

  • China could have a better bar team if they put Pang panpan in the team. PPP's A score is 7.3

  • I think PPP was injured. Also, PPP doesn't have an Amanar. Jiang Yuyuan was injured, which is why she fell on it every single time.

  • PPP was retired

  • She is good.
