The clean energy project phase 2 has been out for Linux for about 2 months and it is about to hit Windows and Mac. Do it bitches.

Phase 2 looks for plant structures to be used in solar cells. Time to mimic mother nature to make man made photosynthesis. Cheap solar cells that work better than the ones we have today. Fuck coal.

@meeputube I wonder what the results for phase 1 have done. I'm sure supercomputers have done things before, like map the human genome... It's hard to see what WCG has accomplished...

I've joined this project 2 weeks ago and my only regret is not having done this before.

I've made my own project (sorry it's in french):

"Urgent: Sauvons la planete !" which means

"Urgent: Let's save the planet !"

Please join ! Of course making such project has no effect on the computation, but may help keep motivation each other.

This is such a great way to be part of actual scientific research and actual humanitarian research! World Community Grid should be running on every computer in every home, school, and office, turning all of those spare, wasted computer moments into useful, important steps toward a better future.
