We don't need new or higher taxes at all. Cut the excessive spending in the state. The pensions need to be cleaned up, the absurd amount of money toll takers get needs to be fixed. Get more flagmen on road work.
Who are we kidding though, we are not going to get any action of real worth from Patrick. We need to vote him out.

Our Governor tackles issues which have taken many years to turn out the way they now do. Your quick-fix naïveté does not comprehend the implications which follow the degrading of public-directed livelihoods. Our Bay State toll-takers deserve their due. Otherwise they could drive their job skills North of I-95 into New Hampshire.
It is worth that much, considering that they have to watch all these customers flash by their with their Corvettes, BMW's, Volvo's and nice SUV's. They might as well make enough to meet payments (along with auto insurance payments) for nice SUV's themselves.
this might sound random but that belmont spring cup you have on your desk is crappy every time go some place that has those cups next to the bubblers i can't help but try to clean off the flaky wax that's always on those cups before i drink out of it cause sometimes it just irritates my throat o well other than that good luck with the reforms govenor.
It is about time that someone took on the generous legislature. They love feeding off the taxpayers and have a vested interest in doing so. Winslow is correct, the state, local, municipal, and State agencies have better benefits than the average tax payer. These people not only get better pensions, they also have more Holidays, Sick days, vacation days. Defeat the sales tax hike. It is give back time so the state employees should do the sa,me as the Auto workers
About time to reform the pension system but why not eliminate it - who gets 80% of their pay with no state taxes deducted and free medical? My 401 has me working into my 70's but I am paying for state workers to live well at my expense??? Even Fidelity took away their pension 2 years ago and no one quit because of it.
Dont be so polite. These jackasses will raise the sales tax so they can keep doing what they have always done! VETO their tax. I agree with your targeted taxes, but NO sales tax or targeted taxes until, these crooks clean up their act on ethics and pensions, and all the other BS that they've got away with for all these years.

collecting change from cars is worth 40, 50, or 60k a year? You have got to be either a complete and total idiot or a toll-taker yourself.

BTW - the $55 an hour toll collectors with free tuition for their spouse - great benefit.
If the sales tax is increased, get rid of the tolls and treat all citizens of the state the same!

Nicely put Governor. Revitalization and reform should go hand in hand - and with intelligent, strategic leadership, we'll get there.
