Rofl. You debated for a month about Sonic swimming or not. I agree with doomvshalo, although people think he can't swim because of 4kid's stupid tv show, it takes a true fan to know that Sonic CAN and always will be able to swim.
Such a long argument over whether Sonic can swim or not, when Yuji Naka himself has stated in an interview why Sonic can't swim. Reason being that at the time he didn't think Hedgehogs could swim, even though his understanding of Hedgehogs at the time was wrong, the trait has stuck for the rest of the games.
@Kufell the problem with that arguement is its slightly false since he was swimming in all the original genesis games fine then in 3d he suddenly forgot how to swim.
@DOOMVSHALO Well, after you stated that Sonic could swim in the Genesis games(which he couldn't), I can only conclude that you're either a bad Troll, or stupid.

@shaddiGhumri not going to debate this further but there not the most hated levels, the pictures a joke on modern sonic. Just like how Robotnik is more known as Eggman in modern sonic.
@streakization thats technically wrong since in hydrocity it would have been impossible for him to swim since the entire level was basically swimming, the same thing for Aquatic Ruin Zone and the only reason why he dies under water is because like any other person theres a limit on how long they can hold their breath
@DOOMVSHALO What are you talking about, Tails could swim alsmot the entire level, and I don't even understand what your replying with I mean the physics underwater are diffrent from On-Land so Knuckles won.

@DOOMVSHALO I've played the oringals, thank you and once again Sonic jumps on platforms Tails swims and Knuckles glides if you've noticed newer games haven't used the underwater scheme in a while thank you very much.

@DOOMVSHALO That's kinda off-topic, but in the games such as Sonic and The Olypmic Games, if you played as Sonic in the swimming events, you'd notice he has a life jacket thus proving my point Sonic can't technically swim.
