  • someone needs to teach these plebes how to do push ups

  • is ths during the plebe summer training?

  • NASS Session 2 2011 Delta-3-1 baby kickin ass and takin names

  • NASS Session 1 2011 was awesome! USCGA is my first choice (going to AIM session 2), but NASS was still a great experience and I recommend that anyone thinking to apply to USNA also apply to NASS

  • All military academies including the USAFA put a stronger emphasis on math and science so it would appear stronger if you had stronger math skills. But dont worry it will not weigh you down that much. They look at other apsects of the individual to determine whether they are a strong potential candidate for the academies, including your physical aptitude and leadership skills

  • this is my sisters class!!!!

  • Hey. to any cadets or midshipmen on here. im a sophomore in HS now but im thinking and really want to apply to the USAFA but i wouldnt mind going to one of the other 2 academies either. would it be worth my while to apply to 2 or all 3 of them or just focus on the USAFA?

  • I'm a sophomore, too, and I want to go to USNA. You should buy a book about the academy, with tips on how to get in.

  • i did. but its all about USAFA and doesnt answer my ?. but good luck on USNA hope u an appointment here in a couple years.

  • I'm going to be a member of USNA's class of 2013 in a few weeks. Basically, if you are truly interested in all the services and thus, the academies, then by all means, apply for all three. You may live in a district that is quite competitive for one academy, and not the other, so it is to your benefit. Do a little bit of reading, and if possible, look to go to the various summer seminars each academy offers for rising seniors. Going to USNA's summer seminar really sold me on it.

  • yea. ok thanks. and good luck at the academy!

  • Thanks. Good luck to you in whichever route you decide to take!

  • i go to USAFA

dont bother preparing, as there is no amount of time that can get you ready for the serious ass-kicking that every plebe/doolie/smack recieves for 9 straight months.

oh that book "how to get in, how to prepare, how to survive" or something (its about USAFA). Total bullshit. it was written based on 80's information and leaves out like 90% of what BCT is like. Like i said, get in , but dont try to anticipate what it will be like. you cant

  • Just wondering, I got a letter from USNA about track. I am pretty bad at math, but good in every other subject. How is it at usafa for those kinds of people?

  • Go for as many as possible. I'm almost done with my application process, and it's long and tedious, but completely worth it.

  • how long did it take you from start to finish to get everything completed and turned in??? did u apply to usna and usafa?

  • I started in February and I'm nearly finished. USNA, USAFA, and the Coast Guard Academy. Lots of options.

  • wow. so like 5-6 months. I'm guessing you're going to be a senior in HS this year? So if you apply to several like you have, did you have to do everything twice (nomination process, cadet fitness test, etc.) ? sorry about all the questions I'm just trying to figure some stuff out.

  • No problem. You can take the Candidate Fitness Assessment more than once, but you can submit the scores of one test to as many academies as you like. In my state (Colorado), the Nominations packages apply to all academies, so you only have to do it once for each state representative. At the Coast Guard Academy, you actually don't need a congressional nomination. Also look into the Merchant Marine Academy; that's a great school and you have alot of options after graduation.

  • alright. thanks for all the help. and good luck if/when you get an appointment.

  • OMG yes you finished way to go !! did you go to summer seminar if so when ??? i'm applying to USNA ans USAFA and USMMA !!!

  • Summer Seminar at USNA session 2, Charlie Company. Also consider the Coast Guard Academy... A unique institution with an amazing mission. Best of luck to you.

  • I want to go to the academy...but is it harder for girls to get in than guys?

  • I'm pretty sure it's easier to get into an academy if your a female

  • They actually accept a slightly higher percentage of guys into the academy, but it's pretty equal.

  • minorities have a huge advantage, the academy hasn't had a white male brigade commander for quite some time now(around 4 years or so) and they love to tout affirmative action and how diverse the new incoming class is.

  • All I can say about Sea Trials 2007 is, I had a blast. I was tired as hell afterwards, but by God it was fun.

  • what is this song? ive been trying to figure out the name for years

  • its from the "Requiem for a Dream" soundtrack... i think its called "Lux aterna"

  • @ltcolhansen Its called Requiem For a Dream

  • @ltcolhansen hope you figured it out by now, you did post it 3 years ago but it's called Requiem for a Dream something along those lines

  • i want to go to the academy

  • hey anyone whos in USNA i want to join the academy and im smart enough but im not fit enof im only a freshman but i wanna get started cuz i heard you had to start applying junior year so can anyone help me with some work outs cause i really wanna join the navy

  • hah, then you better hit the gym and lose some weight..you might also want to know that the nomination process in volves being recommended by two US Representatives, one US Senator, and possibly the VP of the United States, if you can manage to pull that off (only 5 kids do)

  • even if you get through the admissions process, it does help if you have the ability to run at least 3 miles a day

  • to make sure you arent confused teammalaya MZ475 means that you must have at least 1 nomination... and he forgot the Presidential Nomination... which i received and by the way i also received my appointment package to the USAFA.

    GO FALCONS! c/o 2013

  • We had a water boarding portion during the class of xxxx Trials - in the c camp. Of course that was pre-911, and nobody knew what water boarding was.

  • r.i.p. chad

  • what is sea trials?

  • its about 16 hours of constant physical training...no stopping, its the culmination of plebe year at the Naval Academy

  • this was an excellent video. LOVE the music and the dramatic effects you created by cresendo

  • What song is this?..i've actually heard it a lot

  • song: lux eterna by clint mansell. its from requiwm for a dream
