Question, if you have no materia, that means no Steal or Gil Plus, and if you have low levels, you also have low Gil.

How do have so many items?

it's important that you sell materia that you find and older equipment. the challenge probably progresses in phases so that mandatory battles and bosses leave you with enough money to buy things. at least that is how it usually works.
