He B and thanks for the comment. Well I used to compete a lot, mostly in Karate and some boxing. Most of my competition I did in karate; winning the national title 17 times here and taking some medals and wins at some of the biggest tournament in that sport; English Open, US Open, Danish Open, etc.
I have also trained more martial arts like Judo and Thai Boxing.
Now I focus on working with athletes in various sports for creating technical excellence, maximizing physical and mental abilities.
I think that you did an outstanding job of relaying very good information in a fairly simplistic manner. Thank you. I am a warrior myself and would have liked to see a bit more than only punching, but do not let that detract from what I m really trying to convey. Very good video. I do not comment on these boards at all. Today is the first time.
One thing that i noticed about your unches was it makes a loud smack. You got some power bro. Cn you tell me how to gain that or the ability to throw hard jabs.
Its not a "Right Cross" it's a "Straight Right". A "Right Cross" only happens when you throw a right over the opponent's arm - it crosses the left arm when he throws a job - for example. You do look good - nice hand speed. You need to ALWAYS step with the left jab and use more head movement to avoid punches, blocks and parries and use more feints - they are the most dangerous punch of all.
A suggestion: You tend to keep your left hand much too low, at about chest level. Would be better to keep your glove up, by your head/chin, and return the jab immediately to this level, w/o dropping your left. Otherwise, you leave yourself open for counters. No disrespect intended, just a constructive comment, as I believe that your training should be as "real world" as possible. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you very much. I have heard that one before. Coming from a Karate backround, this tends to be something I forget sometimes. It has happened that I have been open for a straight right and keeping the left up would remedy that. "Keeping it real" as you say is what martial arts are all about ;-)
a lot of pro boxers use to keep the left hand down and it s normal.the right hand is coming from too far.you can see it better with the left hand down.
one of the best heavy bag training vids i've seen on youtube, even your left hook to the downstairs was perfect, you stepped into every punch, good work!! now in half an hr i need to do some technique work.

True TIH people could use more text with their videos, it gives you more info on how to look at things.

Thanks. It´s about 50 to 60 pounds. I would like to use an 80 pound bag, this bag is a little bit too small. Nex time ;-)
ingolfursnorra 2 years ago
that bag cant be anymore than 50 pounds. Awesome form though, just might wanna move up to 80 or 100 pound bag.
