  • I played this as a encore for a festival a few years back. I LOVE THIS MARCH.

  • but i can't play too well XD

  • i love this song!!!

  • Playing the Euphonium TC part for this on Tenor Sax. It's ridiculous and amusing.

  • im playing tenor sax on this song and im in 7th grade......... wtf?

  • the baritone part is insanely high and I am barely able to play it

  • I'm playing this on alto sax as a high school freshman. EPIC!!!

  • I love playing this

If only it was my march

    Maybe next year~

    (LOL, won't happen -.-)

  • i love playing this on my clarinet!!! and its not hard at all by the way

  • I had to play this for the band I am in and it was such a pain in the ass

  • I am not looking forward to playing this in band... I like the song and all, but SO FAST!!!!!

  • I love this march. :D First trumpet for me!

  • we had to memorize this for marching band, super easy XD

  • @greentrees5x5 YESSS IT ISSS!

  • this song is killing me >_<

  • top

  • Everytime we reherse this number, I feel like I should jump out of my chair and want to scream"szeek hille"

  • @hurricanekeefe It's a bit fast, but I guess I can hear how it might sound a bit German. Sousa was a bit more robust than, say, Blankenburg, Zehle, or J.F.Wagner, although I've commonly heard Wagner's "Unter Dem Doppeladler" mistakenly credited to Sousa... Or were you just making an offensive joke? (I think you meant "sieg heil").

  • i played this at my county band concert and it was a BITCH to learn in 5 days (because i didn't practice it much, good thing i was on 3rd)

  • one dislike... i bet he feels special

  • I'm a high school freshman playing this on baritone and THIS MARCH IS AMAZING!!!

  • @WrathOfTheHomunculi

euphonium is better :P there is a slight diffrence between them

  • "I played the hell out of this song on my baritone all through out high school and college! Excellent march!"

  • Years ago on WOR radio John Gambling II had a segment called the "March Around the Breakfast Table" and would put on these wonderful old Sousa marches. Even in the 1950s and 1960s we grew up with John Philip's marches.

  • @LePrince1890 : I remember those segments, too, but I think Don McNeill originated the march around the breakfast table with the "Call to Breakfast" on his "Breakfast Club" radio show. Always used to enjoy the give-&-takes between Gambling & Peter Roberts.

  • @schlesmail I remember Peter Roberts enjoyed talking about the "grackle" and reciting a two line couplet about it being "a noble bird".

  • you have all the best marches! hands across the sea, the gallant seventh, and in high quality too!

  • pizza
