She was very pretty and had that evil sex appeal about her..which to a man like me is very sensual and attractive. Barnabas was crazy to push her off like her did and go for that boring Joesette.
@BestLion75: Yes she was very attractive and had evil sex appeal. However if you were in a relationship with her and she got mad at you she could cast evil spells on you and/or your family and friends. Something to consider before getting involved with Angelique Bouchard!
The song is the 'Witch Queen of New Orleans' by the American Indian rock group Redbone, who also did 'Come and Get Your Love'. Redbone was inducted into the Native American Music Association Hall of Fame in 2008.
She is perfect in this role, but lets face it all the actors in the revival series were better than the old ones. But it's like 2 completely different series because this is made with all that our time has to offer of special effects and these actors were not doing an episode as often as the old ones and going on for years. The truth is Angelique IS Laura Parker and she did a great job.
Had the series continued I do not think that Lysette Anthony would have played Laura Collins. I think that she would have played Cassandra Collins, Roger's second wife who was a reincarnation of Angelique. Then another actress would play Laura Collins. It would be witch vs witch!

I think that Barnabas in the DS Revival could have happily loved and married Angelique despite his denials. However due to the class distinctions of his time he would not allow himself to join in matrimony with a servant girl. So when he met the beautiful, wealthy Josette and fell in love with her, he dropped Angelique like a hot potato!
Interesting scenario. Sounds more like the original show though. I think that Barnabas may have met Josette before Angelique. Of course we really don't know but I recall him saying that "..it never would have happened if Josette had not gone to France." That line always made me think that. Either way, he truly loved Josette. Angelique has always been a favorite character of mine from both series but I prefer him sticking with Josette. Not so much in the original though. heh
Man Angelique is top notch! I would love to romp in her melon patch!!! I don't understand why Barnabas or anybody else would not want to be with her. She has beauty, powers and she seems always horny..What more could a man ask for??
I Love Lysette Anthony as a far better Angelique. She gives a much more appealing, sensual, dark and a very striking proformance as a witch! I wish the series continued, or she is cast again as the potent and unforgetable witch she portrays so extremely well.
I loved Lysette Anthony as Angelique...the way she moved and writhed about when she was casting a spell...it's almost like it's a sexual experience...like Marie Laveau in New Orleans...very voodoo-type ritualistic experience.

Oh yes. She was great. Now that is what I call a great casting call for this series. I think that, if the show continued, Lysette would have indeed portrayed Laura Collins. At least that's something I would have liked to have seen and it just makes sense to me. I hated Laura in the original series but to see Lysette play her would have really changed my opinion on fhe character.

Great vid , Ive often wondered who would have been a good choice to play the character of Laura Collins, I think Jenny Seagrove, but Lysette as Ang was perfect.
Thanks for viewing! Lysette certainly was a perfect choice. I couldn't think of anyone else to play that part in this revival series. It would have been interesting to see Laura come into it if the show had lasted longer. It's a shame it didn't.
Where Lara Parker's Angelique was Frightening, Lysette Anthony's Angelique was Sexy.
