  • Just bought one of these at a Goodwill today. Googled library of congress tape player... funny to see someone else found one too!

  • Very nice machine and demonstration! I have the E-1, which I found at thrift store for free. It's very basic and only has the 15/16 speed. I have 3 2-track cassette recorders that offer both speeds, so I can record tapes to play on the E-1. And because the recorders are standard 2-track, I can play them in reverse on the E-1!

  • The "C1" refers to cassette 1981 model, they've been issuing these klunkers for over 27 years! TB cassette players started around 1970. Some models (like the GE) also had a RECORD feature in TB format. The Libraby for the Blind is going digital computer chip books, and the cassette format will become govy surplus. I liked the portable Handicassette TB recorders. This is FREE MATTER FOR THE BLIND OR HANDICAPPED with free postage. Disabled people can get the machines FREE from the govy.
