    because I tend to consume to many calories

    but you didn´t count calories at all?

    how much did you exercise?

    50lbs in 3 month seems quite a lot did you only eat the amount of calories you burnt doing excercise?

  • Yeah, use my measurements alongside with the scale. I'm paying attention to the measuring tape more though. I have lost 1.5lbs in about a week, which is good, but I need my inches to go down and up. :)

  • I know exactly what you mean! Recently I've lost over 40 pounds and the scale stopped moving. I was killing myself with working out and it still wasnt moving and then I went clothes shopping and found out of I actually went down another size. I tossed the scale ever since. The whole time I was losing inches and getting toned, people were telling me and I kept beating myself up about that scale!

  • you talking about sleeping and sleep deprivation and im watching this at 1:09 am lol.but Natalie this is Rose from facebook. We've talkeda bout this before about weight stuff. I don't know it just gets me how some people are able to excercise and eat healthy and look amazzing and beautiful like you do and when i tyr though i never have the energy to do much when i tried before i wouldnt lose really anything. and people who dont eat that much and excercise a ton still look better than me.

  • I weigh myself in the morning, just to get an estimate of how well I am doing. I have lost 4lbs so far, and I havent really gained anything back. I really do not want to go back to 130lbs. When I was a gymnast, I was about 115 with a LOT of muscle. So I know I can get a lean body that contains some muscle but not too much. I am 4'11" LOL so I think this goal is not too extreme. Thanks for talking about the whole losing pounds thing. It makes sense. :)

  • you're so smart! my mom has stressed everything mentioned in this video for years, like "weight is nothing but a number" and all of that and "muscle weighs more than fat" and i know all of that stuff! and it's so refreshing to see that you're able to give the right advice because so many times i see people stressing about how many calories they're eating, or how they think they're so big because of their weight! so thank you for giving educated advice and tips to us! :)

  • Really liked your view on body images. What people have to get in their head are two things:1) muscles weigh a lot more than fat does and 2) they take less space than fat. So if you work out you might gain weight but your pants fit better after all. Everyone is just so obsessed with scales.

  • im twelve years old and i have been wanting to be able to fit into clothes al little better but i have dieted and excersiced and i was 120 but now im about 113- 111 but it dosent look like im loosing weight at all it actually looks worse but i weigh less ...why does this happen how am i supposed to get rid of the fat to make my belly smaller ?how do you weigh less but look bigger?

  • @TheSaraphine13 your growing still, so dont fret! i have degenerative disk disease so I know whats its like to have physical limitations, stretch and drink lots of water...and dont be lazy lol Its not easy to loose weight and be heathy, not really "fun" either, but great for you!

  • @ariannadubovikbeauty No, muscle does NOT weigh more than fat. One pound of muscle weighs the same as one pound of fat. However, because muscle is more DENSE than fat, one pound of muscle is more condensed than one pound of fat. Therefore, a person who weighs 120 pounds of mostly fat will look larger than a person who is 120 pounds of mostly lean muscle.

  • Your video is pretty accurate but I need to stress ONE thing, muscle does NOT weigh more than fat, a pound is a pound (a pound of feathers and a pound of granite weigh the same!) These are numbers and measurements and NEVER change. Muscle is DENSER than fat, which means that you can still weigh more but be smaller in size.

  • Hey hun, you are absolutely right about the amount of sleep you get being crucial for weight loss, as everyone scoffs at sleep, yet we live in a society where the amount of sleep we get dwindles down every year, pulling all nighters (like I'm guilty of) and barely getting any sleep totally stuffs up your weight loss goals because your body needs to make that energy just to get you through the day so you start consuming all these high processed foods loaded with sugar and fat :(

  • @ball3rinabab3 so because most of us live sedentary lifestyles, all the fat, sugar and processed foods doesn't get used so therefore it converts into fat. Of course most people are wise and know that already but there are many who don't and I blame that for the obesity epidemic. Plus the fact food is always avaible, most people haven't got a clue how to gauge their hunger levels.   • I'm 5 foot 5 and 161lbs. I wouldn't say I was skinny fat as my BMI is higher than 25 so more bulk. I have really thick toned legs but my upper body is a bit on the soft side. If I was a girl I could use up the fat on a nice pair of tits though lols!!

  • I had a very invasive surgery earlier this year (benign tumor and 1/2 of my pancreas removed) and so I didn't eat for about 4 weeks (I had a food tube in my stomach). I lost 40 pounds and was shocked at how skinny I got, but I had no muscle mass and could barely walk a lap around my house. Now, I'm doing a couple different fitness videos and I love them; I feel a lot stronger and I love it. I refuse to beat myself up over weight or what I eat as long as I feel healthy and energetic. =)

  • i used to be so focused on being thinner. then one day i realized..i am thin, i am just not fit! (skinny fat as you refer it to) and that irritates me more now.   • I have no idea whether I am skinny or fat. I weight 110 pounds, and remember number means nothing. But I have these huge hips that somewhat hang over my pants. I get so embarrased even trying to wear a tank top because of it and I have tried to lose them by working out but only being 14 my mom doesn't think i should stress about it.

  • @AliciaLovelys dont worry! your body is changing and so is your metabolism! be good to your body and give it the things it needs! When i was in highschool I would run with a friend a few miles a week, helped keep me active and healthy

  • im 147 only cause my pregnancy-im six months-im asking for after wards-my 1st pregnancy i went from 143 b4 my pregnancy to 156 at my final wieght in my pregnancy-and after i had her i had to stay 3 days in the hospital cause of the kinda birth i had-i was 127-i kept it for about 5-6 months then it flexed around 130-133-im only 5'1-im 18 doctores tell me a spicific wieght im supose to be cause at 120 i was a freshamn they told me i was over wieght got any tips for aftr my pregnancy.??:)

  • Thank You! Someone finally said it. I always watched people analyze their weight and associate that idiotic number with how they felt. The thing is it's just a number and associating more realitive things like pants size and that smaller, cute dress is a better way for people to stay motivated, at least it is in my opinion.

  • @tecnolover2642 it isn't right, it's about 6kcal a day for a pound of INACTIVE muscle (more if it's being used though!!). If she was talking about kcal and not cal then then I'd have to eat 10000 kcal a day to power my resting legs!!

  • I had a friend in highschool that was superskinny and all she ate was chips, chocolate and all this fast food, every single day. I've eaten lunch with her almost through out highschool and not once did she eat a single vegetable! Now i know that just becase the fat in her body is not showing, the fat is surrounding her organs which is as dangerous as "fat people" that actually show their amout of fat visually. I used to get deppressed, but now i know the reason.. thanks xoxo

  • @SparklicityNo6 holy crap. and you weight 115..... o.o wow. i'm 5"3 and i weigh 115. ha ha and yep i'm skinny fat. i finally realized thats my issue i lost ALOT of weight once. and i was STILL fat. because i was skinny fat but now i'm gonna exercise to get fit for dancing and to feel better. and no more restricting and cutting calories. nope nutrition exercise and fun. yeh :D loved the video. you're beautiful

  • She's exactly right! I'm 105 lbs and not toned. I'd rather be 120 lbs and look strong and fit. Numbers mean little! Strive to be fit..be able to do pushups and run for 30 minutes without having to stop..those are the true tests of health not numbers on a scale.

  • It's true about skinny fat. Take an average plump girl who dislikes her body, feed her nothing but a little salad, put her on a running machine for ages and ages. What happens?

    The fat goes down sure, the muscle starts to go down too (to feed the brain, provide nutrients not in fat or piddly food intake).

    Finally she looks at herself. I'm 120lbs but I look saggy and doughy! A bit more running will fix that!

    I'm 110lbs. I have house elf arms but still have just a little saggy pouch!

  • I have this new scientific invention for getting rid of skinny fat. It involves getting a heavy weight and lifting it up and down with different body parts! Diet is also important.

    Please don't perpetuate the 200kcal/lb of muscle a day myth though lol, otherwise the muscles in my right leg are burning 7000kcal a day!!

  • 1 pound of muscle weighs the same as 1 pound of fat.. the difference is in volume, as 1 lb of fat takes up much more space than a pound of muscle, and the texture of the two are much different :)

  • Wow, this really changes the way I feel about weight loss..

    A couple of weeks ago, I started dieting.

    I felt so great when I noticed the number on the scale going down...

    But after I lost 4 pounds, it stopped.

    I tried everything- I even quit eating!

    It stayed the same.

    I gave up the idea of dieting, & now the weight's back.

    What exercises do you suggest for somebody with knee problems?

    I'm basically the opposite of bow legged, so growing up, I couldnt really exercise that much, because everyth

  • @JessicaaBrooke Oh no! well Never quit eating..im sure you felt awful. I dont have knee problems but i have back pain I use an eliptical, not sure if you tried, you should go to your local gym, gyms always offer a free week or two and ask a trainer and try diff things, your dr could also suggest safe exercises and diet changes, do you eat a lot of sugar or processed foods?

  • That is very inspiring! My weight has gone back and forth all my life and now I just want to get to a healthy weight after my pregnancy. As long as I am at a healthy BMI that is all that matters. I am now just concentrating on gaining a healthy amount of weight for me and my baby.

  • I do more non scale victories now. My scale is not accurate. Fat and muscle weight are not difference. But muscle is more dense and take less room then fat. So I want to be lean and muscular. I know then I am healthier.

  • I love you. you're such a rad girl... anywho i weigh 150 right now and i always struggle with that number... my usual weight is 135-145 and that just sounds so high to me. i have SO much muscle and i know thats y i weigh so much but sometimes those numbers just mess with my head and make me feel big. didn't know about the 200 cal a day. on my last weight loss vid i show my body and people always r shocked at how much i weigh. this vid makes me feel better about my body<3

  • Was the weight you lost (the 169 lbs.), Pregnancy and post pregnancy weight? Because the weight we carry while pregnant is different then someone that eats the wrong foods or don't exercise. Our bodies burn off most of the weight just having the baby and in breastfeeding. But GREAT advice about not keeping a number in our head of what we SHOULD weight... I believe that's were most of us "Fall of the wagon"... GREAT VIDEO!!!!
