I love this CD. I think it could be classified as a Christmas CD, but I listen to it all year long. I particularly love Engelen....makes me cry every time I hear it, knowing the story "behind" the words....
The night of tonight is holy Something is about to happen What will come from the sky Is not only snow The night of tonight is holy Someone will die tonight Newly sown and anxiety and faint Heaven is sprouting through the ice Where the street is shiny and slippery The night of tonight is holy Someone will be born this night Our dark, chilly planet Is not completely abandoned From her illuminated ciblings Someone is coming tonight
Well, I did my best. Sorry, all Norwegians who visit this page. You are of course welcome to correct my translation. Would be very kind of you, for sure.
The night tonight is holy. Something should happen. What comes from heaven is not only snow. The night tonight is holy. Somebody should die tonight. (...?)agony and dim sprouts a heaven in the ice, the door is shiny and bright. The night tonight is holy. Somebody should be born tonight. Our dark and cool sphere is not completely abandoned. From her shining sister something is coming tonight.

So wonderful! Thank you for the translation! I love Morten's spiritual side as well - he is truly a unique artist and a wonderful soul!

What I've forgotten to tell is that all are religious, Christian poems. But if you read the lyrics, you'll probably see. Glad that I could help.

I speak little Norwegian but I'll try to help. The album Poetenes Evangelium is based on Norwegian poems. Natten means Night.

i suppose it was in end of 80's. But i don't remember exactly the date. It's from solo album of Morten, Poetenes evangelum

this is from the middle of the 90s. From his religious solo album "Poetens Evangelium".
