There are plenty of ways to support ppl who is suffered from mental health illness, having to live in such a rigid society and environment is depressing. Committed suicide is not a fashion and it's not cool. This is a sad example of lost and wasted.

I liked PYH since the first time I saw him in Winter Sonata, and the last time was in On Air, but I didn't know his name then. So, it was really a shock for me and greatly saddened to come to know of his name because of the suicide news. I kept watching this MTV and can't help but feel so sorry for losing PYH so soon. Most S. Korean dramas & movies have sad endings. It's so depressing. Could these dramas & movies contributed to the suicide scenarios in S. Korea?:  Rapid industrial growth & yet very traditional ways might be the reasons for suicides. Stress & pressures caused depression which is a medical/emotional problem, not a mental problem. People in S. Korea should be educated about this matter. In other countries, psychiatry/psychology is very effective solution to this problem.

If only Korean people pay more attention to mental health ....not just the superficial looks....If they can be so understanding of plastic surgery...why is there stigma about seeing a therapist. Korea should make a campaign or commercial about taking your own life. They should have a some kind of a set up where only celebritys can go to get help they need so the public wont even notice it. Don't even metion it to the media, you know how the korean media is they will swarm like hungry sharks in the sea. I think I would volunteer for the job. And use some of the doctors and some celebritys as well. Than we wouldn't have so many good actors,actress, singers killing themselves all the time.

@silentangel68 I don't think it's the countries at fault. It's the korean people in general. Korean myself, I guess it has to do with their pride. Many or most korean celebrities feel if they go to some doctors for help they feel like they are losers or something like that. And also lot of korean fans look down on them if they do go to doctors, they will say like what the hell is wrong with that person (s). So baiscally it's the korean people. If you ask me it's stupid just for the pride etc...

Also I am sure his medical care bills were very high. The sad thing is they don't talk to each other some hold onto the issues until they snap. @G2340mm S korea has to do something about this.Suicide is preventable, but it’s something the society has to put emphasis on. Helsinki, Finland was known as the Suicide Capital of the World not not too long ago, but they implemented various measures, and the suicide rate started to drop noticeably. Korea MUST start doing the same. There have to be more suicide prevention hot lines. More stars have to speak up against it. The stigma of going to see psychiatrists has to be erased.
