I've had to come and listen to this original Irene Cara version after hearing the awful newer version, which is just incredibly lame and without any 'soul', and just plain embarrassing. Irene makes this song come alive.

Gosh... i just watched the remake of fame, and i couldn't really believe it... i really thought it was incredibly bad... I mean, this IS fame, u can't really just go and make an exact copy of the original movie waiting that people who did watch the original one just like it, it's just wrong...

I thought the dancers were really good in the new movie, but the singing was NOTHING commpared to this!!
