a few things: your notes are going sharp when you play and fret, ease up on the fretting hand and focus on even power and tone. second, practice chord switching. third, ease up on the picking hand attack.

Awesome, man I NEED and electric guitar. I've been playin round about 8 months and I'm not as fast. But I was playin an acoustic and I find them MUCH harder, Im looking at how much pressure you put on those strings and it looks effortless (acoustic nylon strings are a bitch to fret) and besides there so much you can do with an acoustic... Well done!!!

some advice (even though this is coming from a 14 yr old :S) would be, when your playing open chords, and your not using say the e or a strings, then try to cover them lightly with your thumb to mute them, and also, I noticed when you wer playing the sweet child o' mine intro, it would really sound a lot better, if you kept your fingers on the strings for jus a little bit pt1*
@RyanB747 longer to give it a bit more of a "full" sound, and try to just move your wrist when your not playing chords, this will really help you, when you play solos, and similar things, as you'll be used to strumming in a more efficient way, and not have to suddenly change your old habits (which can be a huge pain).
Anyways, all the best, and keep it up, say 2-3 more years at the pace your going, and you'll be able to play highly advanced melodies and solos :D Keep it up fellow rocker.
@87btran No, I only started playing the bass shortly before this video and primarily because of the song. The bass line is extremely simplistic, it's only the root note of the power chords I'm playing.

With the chords and some parts of the single note riffs, the playing seems a little rigid. Get licks to the point where you can technically play them without thinking and then try to add little tweaks to make it your own. Vibrato is an obvious way to do this, good vibrato technique requires practice but isn't as hard as you'd think..
With the sweet child riff (as with any) you should look for shortcuts to limit thinking
@Jim47ww I did play all three guitar parts (rhythm, lead, and bass). The song is pretty simple. It's mostly power chords with very simple lead patterns. If you ask me, the drums really make the song. They come from the "Heavy Metal" pre-made song that the base AD package comes with. I had to do a little tweaking to get it to work with this song though.
i think you've made great progress in 6 months. I'm at about the 2-3 months stage; and no way can I post any videos. All I seem to be able to do at the moment is strum ok(ish). I like the idea of what you're doing to, you will indeed enjoy watching it back in years to come; very interesting. Stick with it dude.
@bafty0 Thanks! To be honest with you, I wish I would've started recording videos sooner than I did. The progress in the first three months was much greater than the progress in the second. Don't be afraid to post a video, regardless of your skill level. Just put up a disclaimer that you're a newbie! :)

And `feeling` is just as much a skill as any other part of playing, it's not some secret thing that a select few posess.
And maybe he likes guitars?! There's nothing wrong with possessing em, no matter how good/ bad you are!

Did you play the guitar yourself on We Will Overcome? Impressive when compared to your playing on Take it Easy! Did it require many takes?
Were the drums a backing track provided by Addictive Drums or did you create it yourself?
Interesting viewing and a decent tune at the end too.
