Inspiring. When I watched special forces training in videos, they really inspire me. How much more to see his life in short clip. And to be honest, I have a silent wish that they won't die in all missions 'till they became old grandpa. Maybe I'm just sad to hear some news that there are some elite soldiers that died in Afghan because of poor or wrong intel or srtategy from top and not because they're incapable. I hope it's not the case for this brave man.

I was lucky enough to be one of the many who knew John, and he lived his life with one purpose, to be a SEAL and to serve our wonderful country and he did it all with honor and valor. @theassbastard10 I think I heard Senior Chief Don Shipley Ret. say that Marcum was in a house full of "bad guys" and they got in a shoot out while in close quarters Marcum was shoot several times but eventually killed everyone in the house after clearing the house Marcum walked outside calling his teammates over the radio before passing away.

They are warriors---ready to rescue hostages, capture suitcase nuclear devices *before* they are deployed against civilians, ready to challenge them selves and come out on top.
