  • Hmm? why it doesn't say anywhere he was awarded two SS and fifth BS medals

  • I cried

  • Honour to his memory ...

  • Oh May Word! From this clip I can see he was courages from a young age & I believed he left us doing what he loved. & at least his loved ones have joined him in the next place even though we wished any of them had left.

  • does anyone know how his wife died?

  • The song is "Solsbury Hill" by Peter Gabriel. Every time I hear it, it tears me up. Like tonight at dinner in the restaurant.

  • The song is "Solsbury Hil

  • @Vroomerz Thank You very much my friend

  • What's that song?

  • Rest In Peace Warrior from U.S. Navy Seals.

    Regards from Poland...

  • its men like him that make me want to serve

  • This man packed a lot of living into his short selfless life. I am grateful for his service. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into the life of your friend and comrade.

  • how did thwe wife die?

  • god i miss john wish life didnt take us seperate ways :(

  • A simple thank you i believe is do from my fellow Americans. But it seems that even a simple thank you is almost never enough for one of our Men in uniform. But a simple thank you is all that we can offer. Thank You and god bless.

  • Rest in peace brother. You lived a life and experienced a brotherhood that most of us will never know.

  • Stupid ass Afghanistan stealing our best... fuck that shit hole... bring out troops home!

  • @nocturanas definitely.. politicians live in mansions, eat at hotels, travels by benzs..yet the people who suffer are the good hearted young guys like these & their families

  • @tcckbanaszak So sorry for your loss. Wish I got to meet such a man.

  • May you have fare winds and following seas. Thanks.

  • I shall remember that on my birthday, 11th September that he died. Gone but you will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace.

  • Every seal in my mind is a hero even the young men who don't make it through BUD's are still hero's. They all have a pair of BIG BRASS BALLS. That's the truth.

  • Inspiring. When I watched special forces training in videos, they really inspire me. How much more to see his life in short clip. And to be honest, I have a silent wish that they won't die in all missions 'till they became old grandpa. Maybe I'm just sad to hear some news that there are some elite soldiers that died in Afghan because of poor or wrong intel or srtategy from top and not because they're incapable. I hope it's not the case for this brave man.

  • We owe everything to men of this caliber...Is

  • Aww man.. :( RIP bro.

  • John was apart of seal team 6. He is smiling down on his brothers-in-arms this week more than ever.

  • Hero

  • I have so much respect for Navy SEALS!

  • Great video. We need more John Wayne Marcum stories on Ustream. Thanks.

  • Always Faithful..

  • Thank you brother.

  • whoever voted down should have razor wire up the assss

  • It's insane how the SEALs can change a person who was

Born a man instead of a boy and make a bigger man out of him you can really see that change

    1:49 and 2:20 proves it

  • 2 evil, hateful, and heartless people dislike this video. I pray for this man's children and others like them.

  • Rest in peace Sailor.

  • Squid of the highest order.

Love and respect young warrior . Your sacrifice is felt HERE !

  • And his wife and father died shortly after he did. His family has experienced far too much suffering for one generation.

  • Rest In Peace Warrior.

  • R.I.P. Sad story

  • @MrMEjustME "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." -

     -- George Orwell

I miss him and think of him often. Eternal thanks to John, his daughter, sister (kapierle) and mom who survive him, for his honorable service. HOOYAH, HOOAH and RIP my friend!

  • go easy, bro. thank you for your service to our nation. RIP

  • that is one thick-ass beard.

  • RIP - GOD BLES

  • Thats tragic that his wife and father died soon after. One thing that I hear is that you guys take care of yer own so I hope his daughter wants for nothing.

I also hope he took a couple thousand ragheadscum with him.

  • @theassbastard10 I think I heard Senior Chief Don Shipley Ret. say that Marcum was in a house full of "bad guys" and they got in a shoot out while in close quarters Marcum was shoot several times but eventually killed everyone in the house after clearing the house Marcum walked outside calling his teammates over the radio before passing away.

  • @King0Fr0g I would not be surprised. The man was a SEAL and DEVGRU operator. He probably took a shit ton of those fuckers with him

  • RIP

  • We must all be very grateful for Hero's like John Wayne Marcum on this Memorial day. They deserve our gratitude, and honor for their sacrifice. Freedom is never Free - A Heartfelt and tearful thankyou to our fallen Hero's.

  • What wordly word can describe John? There aren't any...... Only a thank you for your sacrifice will do. I have had the pleasure of spending some time with Seals during the GW1 in 90. They truly are heroes and men among men. God Bless you and you will never be forgotten.

  • R.I.P. God Bless ALL who serve this country. It's up to everyone to make sure this country never forgets all service people.

  • God Bless the Marcum Family...

  • People sleep peaceably at night in their beds because hard men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. Thank you.

  • @jtophoj hooyah for George Orwell!

  • @jtophoj, ready to do violence is not a way of life. i am sad.

  • @mexicoarde I don't know the comment you're responding to, but SEALs in general are not merely "ready to do violence". They are warriors---ready to rescue hostages, capture suitcase nuclear devices *before* they are deployed against civilians, ready to challenge them selves and come out on top. So a few Human hating terrorists have to die in the process. I, for one, am pleased that Bin Laden and any number of his Lieutenants have been voted off the planet. Hooyah!!

  • Requiescat in pace

  • RIP, If i'm correct, he was a SEAl located in Virginia, right near where i live. It was on all the local news stations when he was killed.

  • How did the wife pass?R.I.P to both.

  • I don't what to say besides : powerful and sad

    Great vid

All my respect goes to the US navy SEALs

  • Blessed are the men who face is mired with sweat and blood that rise up, than those cold souls that have never lived a life worth living.

    Nice tribute!

    Rest in peace brother!!

  • Great Tribute

  • Damn. He was a warrior. .......looked like a was a very family oriented person. R.I.P.

  • He looked like one badass sailor. RIP!

  • Words are not enough to show my respect to this fallen brother, may he rest now in the in the arms of god.

  • R.I.P.

  • What happened to his wife? how did she die? Amazing video.

  • A five star rating is not enough.

  • Powerful...

  • Awesome video Senior Chief!

  • "Remember us." As simple an order as a king can give. "Remember why we died." For he didn't wish tribute or song. No monuments, no poems of war and valour. His wish was simple: "Remember us," he said to me. That was his hope. Should any free soul come across that place, in all the countless centuries yet to be, may all our voices whisper to you from the ageless stones: Go tell the Spartans, passer-by, that here, by Spartan law, we lie."

  • Wow, Mr. Marcum & his wife passed just shortly after? I feel so bad for their daughter, absolutely awful. She can however take peace in the fact that her father was a true American hero. RIP

  • RIP. may his deeds and name be remembered always

  • Well done, Mr. Shipley

    R.I.P.

  • Rest in Peace, you'll always be remembered John

  • Thank you very much for sharing this.

I was not a SEAL, but watching movies like this makes me feel very good in having served my country in the combat arms.

  • RIP John.. I bet Mr. Shipley can't even describe how proud he was to watch him grow into the fine soldier that he is.

  • Great video that honors this fallen warrior! Well done and nicely put together Mr Shipley.

  • RIP

  • RIP My webfooted shipmate.. Fair winds, following seas to your destination. God Bless...

  • amen
