Oh May Word! From this clip I can see he was courages from a young age & I believed he left us doing what he loved. & at least his loved ones have joined him in the next place even though we wished any of them had left.
This man packed a lot of living into his short selfless life. I am grateful for his service. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into the life of your friend and comrade.
Jesus Christ, such good men, you must need. We don't understand, but we believe. God rest John Wayne Marcum and his family, my heart breaks for all of our boys and girls that get cut down in their prime.
A simple thank you i believe is do from my fellow Americans. But it seems that even a simple thank you is almost never enough for one of our Men in uniform. But a simple thank you is all that we can offer. Thank You and god bless.
@nocturanas definitely.. politicians live in mansions, eat at hotels, travels by benzs..yet the people who suffer are the good hearted young guys like these & their families
watch this video atleast once a week, love an miss you bro,,,,star wars still brings a smile an lots of memories of us :D.....you were a giant amoung men !!!!!!!!!!
Every seal in my mind is a hero even the young men who don't make it through BUD's are still hero's. They all have a pair of BIG BRASS BALLS. That's the truth.
Inspiring. When I watched special forces training in videos, they really inspire me. How much more to see his life in short clip. And to be honest, I have a silent wish that they won't die in all missions 'till they became old grandpa. Maybe I'm just sad to hear some news that there are some elite soldiers that died in Afghan because of poor or wrong intel or srtategy from top and not because they're incapable. I hope it's not the case for this brave man.
HOOYAH John, we cannot thank you and your family enough for all of your sacrifices for freedom's sake. All Americans and those who she helps to live free, are indebted to you and your shipmates.
I was lucky enough to be one of the many who knew John, and he lived his life with one purpose, to be a SEAL and to serve our wonderful country and he did it all with honor and valor. I miss him and think of him often. Eternal thanks to John, his daughter, sister (kapierle) and mom who survive him, for his honorable service. HOOYAH, HOOAH and RIP my friend!
@hallparty hey i hope u will answer this.I wanna join the Marines.. i got a few "exposed" tattoos though,on my wrist and a small one on my neck..could i still join?
Words cannot describe how much I appreciate him. I would literally give up everything I own to have him back, though I don't know him, I wish I did. Some day... I'll be there at BUD/s.
its the experience man!!! they are brave warriors,... sometimes their superiors ask them to do bad things but they are very brave and i appreciatte u guys...go good guys real ones
Thats tragic that his wife and father died soon after. One thing that I hear is that you guys take care of yer own so I hope his daughter wants for nothing.
I also hope he took a couple thousand ragheadscum with him.
@theassbastard10 I think I heard Senior Chief Don Shipley Ret. say that Marcum was in a house full of "bad guys" and they got in a shoot out while in close quarters Marcum was shoot several times but eventually killed everyone in the house after clearing the house Marcum walked outside calling his teammates over the radio before passing away.
We must all be very grateful for Hero's like John Wayne Marcum on this Memorial day. They deserve our gratitude, and honor for their sacrifice. Freedom is never Free - A Heartfelt and tearful thankyou to our fallen Hero's.
What wordly word can describe John? There aren't any...... Only a thank you for your sacrifice will do. I have had the pleasure of spending some time with Seals during the GW1 in 90. They truly are heroes and men among men. God Bless you and you will never be forgotten.
@mexicoarde I don't know the comment you're responding to, but SEALs in general are not merely "ready to do violence". They are warriors---ready to rescue hostages, capture suitcase nuclear devices *before* they are deployed against civilians, ready to challenge them selves and come out on top. So a few Human hating terrorists have to die in the process. I, for one, am pleased that Bin Laden and any number of his Lieutenants have been voted off the planet. Hooyah!!
"Remember us." As simple an order as a king can give. "Remember why we died." For he didn't wish tribute or song. No monuments, no poems of war and valour. His wish was simple: "Remember us," he said to me. That was his hope. Should any free soul come across that place, in all the countless centuries yet to be, may all our voices whisper to you from the ageless stones: Go tell the Spartans, passer-by, that here, by Spartan law, we lie."
Wow, Mr. Marcum & his wife passed just shortly after? I feel so bad for their daughter, absolutely awful. She can however take peace in the fact that her father was a true American hero. RIP
May Mr. Marcum, His Wife, & Father Rip. Excellent video Mr. Shipley. I would also like to say Thank You to the family for providing these pictures. God Bless you all.
