total biased BS. we all know that GMC trucks might have a bit more..."comfort"...more trim levels, an automatic transmission.....but how long do they last. Toyotas are indestructable.
its like a sumo wrestler trying to prove it can beat up a 90 pound chess club kid. what the hell? early toyotas had their bugs. i like how the T100 got the OUTSIDE of the curve in that drag race in part B or C, i forget which.
Unfortunately, Toyota targeted the T100 against the Full size Chevy/Ford/Dodge. They shot themselves in the foot, as the T100 was not full size. The Titan is, and it is a very worthy competitor to the American trucks
Toyota has a plant in San Antonio that builds only trucks, and its idled, but they are stilling paying the workers 100%. For a company that doesn't have the letters U, A or W in its name, it sure is acting like it. And according to Consumers Report the Ford F-150 has better reliability for 2009. J.D. Powers doesn't rank Toyota in the top 3 for the 2006 model year either, but they still build some of the best cars on the road.
yes really. If u knew anything u would know toyotas are used all over the worls and mnost of the landcruiser that were built are still running today with original everything. Toyota is the best.
the fact that GMC put this video out shows that they're just pissed that their market was deteriorating even then. its not their fault that toyota made a longer lasting vehicle.
chevy makings a longer lasting truck but toyota only advantage is that parts last a llot onger then a chevy but chevys are more durable then a toyota both are pretty good trucks if uask me
I really don't get these people who say one sucks and another is great. Each has its strengths and faults. The T100's greatest fault, in my mind at least is the weak V6. The Chevrolet, in my mind (I have had a few of these vehicles too) is more to with quality and fit and finish.
I don't think the size really hurt it that much. If Toyota had been a bit smarter they would have dropped in the Landcruiser's nice 212 horsepower 275 ft/lbs of torque 1-6. This engine would have matched many of the domestic's V8 engines back in 1993.
In any event, the T100 was and still is a great truck. The GMC/Chevrolet trucks are also great and proven trucks.
I actually have a T100 (1993 4X4) now (my second) and I love the truck (still gets compliments), but I can see where Chevrolet was coming from at a certain level. A 150 horsepower 180 ft/lbs of torque 3.0 liter V6 against Chevy/GMC's 4.3 liter V6 with 160 horses (and soon to be 190 and then 200) with 240 to 260 ft/lbs of torque and not to mention their V8s was no comparison (even if one compares the T100 to the smaller S10 the V6 falls short). This was definitely the T100s biggest downfall.
Although it was more of a midsize, the T100 did pose a threat and no one at the time knew if Toyota was going to get even more serious about the big truck business and offer some V8s, maybe a diesel and even heavy duty versions to fill the spectrum. Although this is most definitely a GMC sales video to promote their own product, they do make some valid points amongst some blurred facts.
It's all stuff I collected over the years. I'm kind of a Toyota truck buff.
You really cannot blame Chevrolet for this comparison however (even though it is clearly a propaganda video for themselves). A big Toyota truck was something new for North America (and the rest of the world too) and Chevy was not going to take this laying down.
I love my Toyota pickup 22r motor indestructible

Both Chevrolet and Toyota are complete piles of junk. In fact, all cars made after 1990 are junk. Classic German, now that's the way to go.

The T100 was a peashooter compact pickup. Of course it can't compete against the Sierra and other full size pickups

91 T100? Hmmm... They didn't start making them until 93. Something's not right here...

Toyotas are shit, they will always be shit. My father's 1991 Toyota T-100 died at 120K miles while his 1989 Ford F-250 finally died at 560K.

yeah BS. Sorta like how my dads 4runner ran practically like new at 312 k and his old chevy van barely lasted to 180k. Yeah your so BS.

My dad's 03 tundra is at 275K and still going like new. Nothing replaced except fluids, tires and timing belt.

This is kind of stupid because it only compare GMC against Toyota. What about Ford and Dodge?
