Today was the first time I went with him to his ST. He is working on his B's right now and is doing good in that. He even suprised me by hearing him say words I never heard him say like Bow. It is so cool to listen to him say new words. again thanks for the video.
I'm so happy for you. Every time Gabriel says something new, it really surprises me. Lately, he is using the word "both" to describe two people together. It surprised me so much because I don't even know how he learned the idea of it! Speech therapy is really important for our kids, and I am happy that you're so supportive. My son is an only child and many times I wish he had siblings to be there for him. Take good care!
I was only able to use the blank flashcards for the Out of the Box Reading program as I couldn't afford the whole program. But even those were very helpful. My son will be four in April and he reads no less than 100 words by flashcard and in books. And he also can read all his little friends names at preschool. The whole idea of flashcard visuals really work for our family!
That was awesome Gabe is so cute and smart my youngest brother has DS to. One thing I wish he would start doing though is talking more. He has started Speach Thereapy again so hopefully he will start talking. He is already 8 he understands alot and is very very smart. He even will watch your mouth sometime's as you say a word to him and he will try to say it back but just can't quit get it out. He is an absolute joy in our life as I can see your son is to. thank you this video and the others
Thank you for such a wonderful and positive comment. I think that is what is so important about people with Down syndrome: although some skills may be delayed, they certainly know what is going on, and they want to participate in life just like anyone else.
Does your brother like to read books? We found that reading to Gabriel has helped his speech a lot. I think the repetition of the stories evoked Gabe to start saying words. It takes time, but it can happen.

Did you begin this process using Out of the Box Reading or eReadingPro? I'm just curious...
