  • eth·nic·i·ty /ɛθˈnɪsɪti/ Show Spelled[eth-nis-i-tee] Show IPA

    –noun, plural -ties.

    1. ethnic traits, background, allegiance, or association.

    2. an ethnic group: Representatives of several ethnicities were present.

    ---------------------

Half informed moron....go read dictionary . ethnicity is cultural more than racial.

a good example is "hispanic" is ethnicity , not race. similarly marathi is a ethnicity not race.

  • rahul has proved tht even if he is from outside of maharashtra...he has adopted the culture and language and he is a true marathi.....this is wht expected from outsiders.....jai maharashtra

  • @mumbaigoaexpress

Sorry, i´m not Indian and thus don´t have a glue; where is he from?s

  • @Ketrin01

he is from india, the show is from india, as you might be aware, india is home to various ethnic people, one of the cool groups is marathi, this guy is not one, yet he perfectly speaks/sings it....

its not any border issue as such...., its just somewhat subtle difference.

  • @MichToJoshya

Not various ethnic but various linguistic!the word 'ethnic' has different meaning dude!!!

  • @saurabhCherished I am quite sure I know what ethnicity means, and India is made up of different ethnic groups. hint look at far east, south, north and west.

  • @MichToJoshya

    [#1]

In Oxford and Cambridge dictionary definition of different ETHNIC groups -: between people from different races

1.According to DNA tests carried out in collaboration with MIT & Howard proved there is main ethnic group in India is biracial= ancient north Indian + ancient south Indian.

2.Marathi & Hindi are from same language family ==> Indo-Aryan which is derived from sanskrit

    3.Hes Hindu.

4.Only difference is north Indian have little Mughal influence

  • @saurabhCherished india has atleast 3 different paternal(Y) haplogroups (and this too without considering the mongoloid influence in north, north east)... its not just a question of north and south or whatever. btw, maharashtra is under "west" india not south.(and genetically tend to cluster with gujrathis, bengalis)

also ethnicity doesnt mean race, its more of a cultural thing, ..., get your info right bro...

  • @MichToJoshya

What an idiotic genetic facts you better search for Genetics and archaeologists of South Asia.Yes there are three types of Haplogroups but Indians are admixture of these genes ex. The macrohaplogroup M which is considered as a cluster of the proto-Asian maternal lineages, harbours more than 60% of Indian MtDNA.A kashmiri or Tamil both can have these Macrohaplogroup.

  • @MichToJoshya

    [part 3]

    conclusion:-Hes not ethnically different!

    आवरा!!

  • @saurabhCherished

he maybe ethnically different , but not necessarily racially. I think this is what your trying to say...

An ethnic group (or ethnicity) is a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, consisting of a common language, a common culture (often including a shared religion) and a tradition of common ancestry (corresponding to a history of endogamy)

  • @MichToJoshya

    [part 2]

Gujrathi and bengali cluster with Marathi ,dont make me laugh!!

[Y] chromosome :-In India, R2 percentage is around 15% among Indo-European speaking groups while Dravidian speakers show it at 8%.39% of the Sinhalese of Sri Lanka are found to have R2. so you can understand what is called an admixture, south Indian and Sinhalese've became phenotype.Genetically there is no any west India!!!

    आवरा!!

  • @MichToJoshya

    [part 3]

    Ethnicity=Race

    conclusion- as it is

    आवरा!!

  • @MichToJoshya

    [part 4]

    aso!!ankhin kahi nahi!!

  • @saurabhCherished and weep on your stupid comments, once you understand what ethnicity is.

  • @MichToJoshya

    eth·nic / Ñ 'eTnIk; NAmE Ñ / adjective, noun

connected with or belonging to a nation, race or people that shares a cultural tradition:

ethnic groups / communities Ç ethnic strife / tensions / violence (= between people from different races or peoples) Ç ethnic Albanians living in Germany

  • @MichToJoshya

akkalshunya murkha mhanje kay yach murtimant udaharan tumhi ahat saheb!!!

  • @saurabhCherished

marathi are neither ethnically nor racially different !!Its just different linguistic group.

They are ethnically south Asian or Indian.thats it!!

  • @saurabhCherished they are ethnically different

    -they wear different clothes

    -celebrate different festivals

    -speak different language

-are targeted and portrayed negatively by media.

    -eat different food stuffs

  • @MichToJoshya

    Brainwashed bandu!!

Kashimiri muslim killed pandits is not ethnic but religious cleansing.Calling and proving it ethnic is just hindu nationalist propaganda!!

-Marathi and N Indian wear same clothes

-Languages are derived from Sanskrit and

-Media always portrays such thins negatively to gain popularity among related masses

-As i mentioned earlier because of Mughal influence and other historic changes food [some unique festivals]can differ from state to state!!! daru pi ja!!!

  • @saurabhCherished

WHOLE WORLD CALLS IT "ETHNIC CLEANSING".

:D Dont make a fool of yourself by making stupid comments just to prove your right(it also makes you look like a sore loser)

    heres another example >

    rwanda ethnic cleansing.

    different race= NO

    different culture= YES

    hence DIFFERENT ETHNICITY.(SAME RACE)

I will suggest you accept your wrong ,and end this.

  • @MichToJoshya

Dont make a fool of yourself by making stupid comments just to prove your right(it also makes you look like a sore loser)

lol its appropriate for what your saying all this time!!!

World also says Aryan invasion happened ,Vedas created by Europeans & caste system based on race!!!

    N Indians & Marathis

    different race=no

    different culture=no

    different religion=no

    Both speak sanskrit derived languages=yes

Marathis started Ganesh utsav in 19th century so they're ethncly diff?

  • @saurabhCherished its not appropriate for me I gave you atleast 3 different examples to understand what ethnicity means... and what are you doing ?

making some stupid comments like "kashmir ethnic cleansing is not ethnic cleansing but religious cleansing"..... lame!

North indians have different ethnic groups eg. the biharis, the punjabis, the hariyanvis the rajasthanis etc...

which one are you comparing with marathi ppl exactly ,be precise ..

  • @MichToJoshya

Brainwashed Indians like you always brag about having different ethnic groups but linguistic study provides there just two communities living in India.

    1.Indo-Aryan

    2.Dravidian

They are just different linguistic groups and ethnically Indian or south Asian.

  • @saurabhCherished

wrong, linguistically there are 4 groups

    - indo-aryan

    -austro-asian

    -tibeto-mongolian

    - elamo-dravadian (the elam connection is still dubious)

Are you serious ? All south asians belong to same ethnic group ? ROFL!

this is more bogus than mike-tyson saying he doesnt have anger issues women.

  • @MichToJoshya

Tibeto-mangolian is very small group idiot!! India is predominately admixture M and other macrohplgrps .Mongloid sino-Tebetan arr people with O haplgrp which is rarer !

I am talking about 2 major groups whos ancestors emerged during paleolithic era.

I've already said Indians or south Asians are admixture of different genetics groups Pakistani baluch and S.Indians are amazingly close related communities.your calling me a red-nk ? your mental facility ? grow up dude!!!

  • @saurabhCherished

By that logic very few hindus in kashmir support kashmir as part of india , so does it mean kashmir belongs to pakistan ? The answer is NO.

Why are you confusing language with haplogroups ? Language has nothing to do with that.

Baluch are closer to Irani people, that would make south indians close to iran. And that is the elam link . Elam means sumeria.

Also , your a noob, with 1/2 knowledge. or maybe 1/4th.

    Guj,Mah,Beng cluster together.

  • @MichToJoshya

Idiot when i said Kashmir not belongs to India? Actually am saying opposite, Pakistan,Sri-Lanka & Bangladesh belongs to India.I am not confusing haplogroups with anything am just saying languages which are derived from same mother language cant form different ethnicity/race.At greater extent you can say its sub-ethnic group.Ethnicity=Indian, sub-ethnicity=Marathi,Punjabi ,Hindi etc just like Han-Chinese most of them speak Mandarin but also Manchu,Cantonese and Shanghainese too

  • @saurabhCherished

The Marathi people or Maharashtrians (Marathi: मराठी माणसं or महाराष्ट्रीय) are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group, that inhabit the Maharashtra region and state of western India. Their language Marathi is part of the southern group of Indo-Aryan languages.

    -Wikipedia.

The Punjabi people (Punjabi: پنجابی (Shahmukhi), ਪੰਜਾਬੀ (Gurmukhi), Hindi: पंजाबी (Devanagari)), also Panjabi people, are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group from South Asia

    -Wikipedia.

    INDO ARYAN ETHNIC MARATHI.

    back off!

  • @MichToJoshya

Thats what am saying Indo-aryan!!! they did not say Marathi ethnic group or Punjabi ethnic group!!Rahul Saxena- Indo Aryan and MichToJoshya=Indo-Aryan!! got it? lol i backed off to death!!!

  • @saurabhCherished as you see my mental faculties are far beyond your comprehension .... I think I will quit now....

theres no point in talking with a red-neck (consider indian application of it) ....

  • @saurabhCherished

are mati manda.... ja adhi ingraji che dhade ghe adhi....

I think you didnt quite get the hispanic example. heres another:

Kashmiri pundits were killed during ethnic cleansing of the valley.

does it mean the muslims and hindus their belong to different race= NO

    different culture =YES

    Hence , DIFFERENT ETHNICITY

  • @MichToJoshya

    [part#2]

    There is no difference beside history [and little linguistic].कळला असेल तर सांगा !!!मौर्य राजवंश मातृ राजवंश [mother empire]आहे .
