  • working with a better power to weight my car with 230hp is 11.3lbs per hp at 275 ill be at 9.45lbs per hp The wrx with 275 is 11.6lbs per hp

    @abcgimp For one, really troll-ish to come on this guys video and be a dick. For 2 a N/A 2.5 subie engine will NOT make more than 200hp at the crank. It has been tried and there just isn't enough displacement or RPM ability and the blocks aren't strong enough. I know, I've been building mine and others for quite a while now.

  • Absolutely. I believe an 18g can get to 350whp safely...on e85 of course. I talked to my tuner, and he actually says 400 on an 18g is possible with e85, but i think you need to run meth to keep it safe.

  • oh yeah, and a stock clutch and easy shifting. Let the clutch go before the tranny does, unless you have money for a 6 speed or ppg.

  • fine for daily driving even with stg4 as long as you keep it at an 18g turbo or smaller IMO. Mostly depends on how safe the tune is.

  • Dude, stage 2 is ONLY 285bhp (240WHP) at oct 93. How the hell would you smoke a 300WHP?!

    And you don't need a FMIC even with a VF34 unless you want extra lag. I have a VF34 with a stock top mount (not STi) and a cobb flash, pushing about 320bhp (270WHP)... looking to do more.

  • My datalogs from a few days ago show no more than about 72% IDC. I'm tuned a little rich also at about 10.5:1. You should be fine unless you want a little room for improvement later down the road.

  • a wastegate "bleeds off" exhaust gas before the turbo to control boost. A BOV releases the pressurized air when the throttle is closed so it doesn't reverse direction and try to spin the turbine in the opposite direction. Neither is better, they do two seperate things.

  • Yep. I think drew was going to ask about CBV and BOV, which are Compressor Bypass Valves and Blow off Valves. For a stock WRX please dont put a BOV on it. Your engine will run crazy rich after coming off of the throttle, your car thinks it has more air than it does. So if you get a BOV, run a MAP system rather than a MAF.

  • Hey man, I was wondering if you had a list of your set up. Sounds so bad ass. I been wanting to do that with my WRX once I get my deadbolt 16g. I'll probably add a QTP cutoff to my mid pipe for even less restriction. Gonna be so loud, but totally worth it though.

  • For a 16g that rex sounds sick, probably because of external dump but that shit hot. No fogs an STI Canards set it off, I was going do the same thing to mines.

  • I chose the 16g because of all the horror stories about the stock tranny not holding much over 300whp. I knew that with this setup I could hit 300 pretty easily. The lag isn't bad at all. I'm keeping this until I either build it or get a 2.5 block, then I'm going rotated.
