i have a cadillac cts i drive at 205 kms/hrs

With 1100 hp the car should go much faster, like posted earlier it needs more gear. Duttweiller engines are proven at bville so it must be gearing.

Then why are top fuel dragsters breaking NHRA speed records at MileHighNats?Its about air density.Example:Say you have 4 o2(OXYGEN) molecules per square inch(density) at 14000 ft compress it at 6psi you would have 24 o2 molecules in the intake charge,if you were at sea level and had 12 o2 molecules compress it at 6 psi you would have 72 o2 molecules in the intake charge inturn means you need more fuel.The more air/fuel mixture you add to engine also means you make more power,quicker and easier.

Another problem is not differece of power but altitude.They ran the bugatti at sea level and salt flats are in the mountains so the air is thinner.Get that over priced car to Bonneville and I bet it will run slower

Bugatti is a forced induction motor. Altitude does not affect a forced induction motor for power. call dynojet if you think im wrong.

a Positive pressure in the manifold intake will always be 6psi for example no matter what altitude. Only difference is spool times with altitude change. a different SLOPE to a dyno curve BUT THE SAME PEAK HP.

Engines also act different when they are on a dyno then when they are at the track.The TEXAS MILE would be way easier to set faster records but it is not 7 miles long like Bonneville. Talk to any guy racing at Bonneville and they will tell you the same thing.I've been to Bonneville,Texas Mile,Maxton Mile and El Mirage events and talked to drivers and asked.

ok, Cadillac built a custom made car at 1100HP and it reached only 217.381 mph, bugatti veyron has only 1001HP and beats the cadillac with 220mph, even with less power.. bugatti may be expensive, but rules!

thats true, the top speed on that cts is 148(thats when the fuel cut off activates)and the top speed on a V is 163(no fuel cut off switch)
