i wouldnt be surprised if he intended on blowing himself up along with anyone else because according to their fucked up beliefs when they die after taking an enemies life they are awarded with paradise, so it was likely to be him

The ied was probably contained in some pipe-like thing that was directed towards the armored vehicles, thus the lucky guy didn't get the brunt of the impact. Either way, he's damn lucky.
@degooser2000 no it wasnt, it was just directed, instead of shot up like most are, but make no mistake. that guy didnt last long. that was probly 500 pounds of explosives directed trough some type of pipe, witha blasting cap on the end, most liekly wired from the back. it mostlikely rendered that army transport useless. and for the guy, he probly died of inturnal bleed somewhere on the streets, because hat was loud enough to perforate the cameramans drums, and he was around 150m back.
@Marineraider24 Sorry i don't agree. "500 pounds of explosive" no way, maybe about 30-40 pounds. Also the truck wasn't rendered usless, the driver was pretty stunned, that's why it didn't move on.
Also, the camera was in the truck behind which was probably about 50 yards away, and you can hear the guys talking after the blast and neither of them are in distress with perferated eardrums.
As for the guy, I think he spent the rest of the day looking for his turban!

If you look carefully that guy is about 30 yards past where that IED explodes.
Also that IED was pretty lame, it was just blows up some dirt and a bit of a thud .
That guy maybe suffered only a perforated eardrum.
