And with the addition of digital television, you'd think this sort of thing would die down. Of course, unless they want you to pause and find it, then consciously remember the product as, 'that subliminal product we saw on CNN"...
@pyroga right. most psychological research is funded by the government. and if the research shows something that they dont like or do not want the public to know, they alter the information. it is logical to me. because if i wanted to manipulate the people, thats what i would do.
@porkbellyroast Actually most scientific research is funded by the government, as they require sophisticated instruments, and a lot of time to conduct the research. Most Psychological research are funded by Universities in which the research is conducted, and as far as I know, University have there own sources of income. It is logical to me that if the manipulation of people was a concern, then they would invest there time in using proven methods to do so.
the sub-conscience interprets everything... that's why they consistently use subliminal messages as a marketing tool if it didn't get the job done, they wouldn't waste their time.
I don't think the mind will interpret this much words in such a sentence at these speeds. Pictures and larger words may work, but this was just a pointless subliminal. Bad technique advertisers
i don't see anything it's difficult se this and the ''subliminal message'' is an stupid thing if they want to prevent the deads from cancer the better form isn't a subliminal message
If grandma saw a Plavix commercial several times before, this flash could trigger her to think about ordering some of the pills, and she'd figure it was her own opinion. So this is sickening.
However watching CNN is no less sick. Unplug your tv, the truth will not be televised!
theres alot of people using subliminals on youtube i even dedicated a playlist to them theres one guy in particular named farhank501 who made a series called ''the music industry exposed''...and in part 4 thers a subliminal msg that says ''worship..for protection..this name...allah...the true god'' and it took over 2 hours to catch the entire msg...its kind of creeepy
@erty123er in this particular vid theres one between 12 and 13 seconds. if your talking about the one i mentioned in my comment is between 51 and 53 seconds of the video "music industry exposed pt. 4"...and sublimials have a direct effect in our decision making..hope this helped God Bless
Subliminal messages dont actually work. The idea of an effective subliminal message is if the person can convince the viewer of their goal beforehand but without them noticing.
People in England who watch Channel 4 and Derren Brown fans will understand why.
cool found kept clickin on the mouse rapidly on the pause button then it says "Feeling better doesn't mean you're not at risk .........Call 1-866-3-PLAVIX" pretty weird
Oh, this is also illegal btw, for any ignorant person believing this to be not a big deal. If course it isn't, in comparison with all that isn't exposed and all that isn't as obvious, amongst other things, but it is more important than soccer results and your wage. And to Josh, no, the technique is not named "Jump Cut".
No. I'm sitll open for other suggestions, but I do not believe it was a programming error, "almost having played a commercial on accident", come on.. It's possible, not probable. Bill Clinton might be Satan - possible, not probable, so let's not work with possibilities.
The thing is, I've seen commercials, I know they exist, I've also seen when a commercial almost gets played before the appropriate break. It is completely possible for it to have been a programming error, unless electronics have come to some perfection I've not heard a word about, the most conservative view is that it is a technical problem. I'm not saying they don't use t.v. to brainwash, I just think it's not helping the cause to point out any strange thing you can find.
Ever heard of "The boy who cried wolf", I think it's crap like this that makes peoples eyes glaze over with stupid when you present them with evidence that may help them.
oh, I've never stated this actually is genuine, it is actually highly likely that the owner is just playing a homemade edit, having their computer hooked up or burned out a dvd or whatever they've wanted to, but I highly doubt they have commercials lasting for 0.1 sec.. yes, I've seen these errors myself, but I've never seen one even suggest that it's probable that they will have ONE SINGLE FRAME of an commercial in between.
you're phrasing the average american, right? or did you utter your own sort of emotional state? 'cus first you're trying to pinpoint any error in this movie to conclude with that it's fabricated, and then you say you're just "looking for some hope in a youtube vid", refering to this one.
you were prolly phrasing the average american :p this vid isn't even interesting 2 me btw, I just went through it from "related videos".. "sublimal messages", lol, government's having gay-sex as we speak
The average American, but myself too. I hope I didn't come across as trying to "pin point any error", I just wanted to share a single idea on the subject (it being an accidental commercial start), I'm not sure what else I said attacking the videos viewpoint..
It was a related video to me too, I just had a thought to share to stimulate conversation so I could get a more involved point of view on the subject.

It is a subliminal message and your subconcious mind can perceive things that your concious mind cannot. Plus the solicitation of Plavix during a Pavaratti special is not warranted.
1. It's not subliminal by definition if you can perceive it.
2. Unless you can read an ad like this it's absolutely worthless. Your subconscious mind can't tell you what the ad says if all you see is an unintelligible flash.
3. You're the ones with the DVR, why don't YOU PAUSE IT, you cunts.
disgusting, simply disgusting! Any ad that preaches fear in order to sell I will not buy anything from them! Fortunately Jesus Christ comes back soon! We are in the end times, guys and this is one of the many signs. If you want to see more signs, just start loving and seeking the truth and God will remove your blinders! 2 Thess 2:9-12!
I think companies pay for this kind of thing. It's not technically a sub because you know it's there, even if you can't read it in the fraction of a second it's up. It's an incredibly effective marketing strategy, because the company pays for a quarter second of airtime, and then we knock ourselves out trying to find out what they're advertising rather than them trying desperately to keep us in front of the television during a commercial break.
*clears* hmmm so obvously this is to fast to catch anything right? well you see a white flash, ppl that are recording the channel look back and put it on here. we watch and pause. bada bing bada boom, advertisement acheived. lol
ha,,, ya know i believe that. I was once watching a commerical about weight loss. The before and after pictures where flashed on the screen very very fast that all you saw was a blurr. and the lady on the TV said slow down your TV and pause to see each one. lol
CNN is run by assholes just like the rest of the so-called "mainstream media." What do you expect when 5 multi-national corporations run 98% of the programming? I wish someone would sue.
Wow...another drug Big Pharma is trying to push on us. These companies are the real drug dealers...not the guy on the corner selling pot. At least pot doesn't kill you. All these drugs are worthless and maim people. A change in diet and exercise program could easily do a better job than Plavix.
wtf a phone number... as if anyone's gonna be able to remember the number to call unless they have a photographic memory... do they think people can run and grab a pencil and paper in .001 seconds to jot down this number??
subliminal messages aren't supposed to have the same effect as regular advertising. They're covert and influence the subconscious in a way that does not include the conscious mind or rational thought. That's why as soon as you know that it's subliminal the effect is neutralized.
Well, apparently we can savely conclude that this marketing technique is quite useless. None of you ran to the shop to buy Plavix, did you? You even have to put in a lot of effort to read the phone number...
But i have to say that this subliminal message is not about marketing tecnique....is about FEAR.
Look at the context of the video, CNN shows the death of this tenor.......so, that can be Interpreted on unconscious level that you're in risk of death.

At risk for what?

I think companies pay for this kind of thing. It's not technically a sub because you know it's there, even if you can't read it in the fraction of a second it's up. It's an incredibly effective marketing strategy, because the company pays for a quarter second of airtime, and then we knock ourselves out trying to find out what they're advertising rather than them trying desperately to keep us in front of the television during a commercial break.

CNN is run by assholes just like the rest of the so-called "mainstream media." What do you expect when 5 multi-national corporations run 98% of the programming? I wish someone would sue.

For those that can't stop it dead on, it says:
Feeling better doesn't mean
you're not at risk

Wow...another drug Big Pharma is trying to push on us. These companies are the real drug dealers...not the guy on the corner selling pot. At least pot doesn't kill you. All these drugs are worthless and maim people. A change in diet and exercise program could easily do a better job than Plavix.

wtf a phone number... as if anyone's gonna be able to remember the number to call unless they have a photographic memory... do they think people can run and grab a pencil and paper in .001 seconds to jot down this number??
ps - is this video for real?

subliminal messages aren't supposed to have the same effect as regular advertising. They're covert and influence the subconscious in a way that does not include the conscious mind or rational thought. That's why as soon as you know that it's subliminal the effect is neutralized.
briggs47 3 years ago
it says 'feeling better doesn't mean you're not at risk'.....the fuck does that have to do with anything?????
sharkplaya1408 3 years ago
its means we are at war
HashSmokerDude18 3 years ago
maybe theywanted you allto see it on purpose because they knew you'd save them money by advertising it more for free on you tube..
gus361 3 years ago
Well, apparently we can savely conclude that this marketing technique is quite useless. None of you ran to the shop to buy Plavix, did you? You even have to put in a lot of effort to read the phone number...
Not really effectivem I'd say.
japrowitz 3 years ago
i agree. this subliminal advertisement wasnt very effective at all..
kingtubenino 3 years ago
My english is not really good,
But i have to say that this subliminal message is not about marketing tecnique....is about FEAR.
Look at the context of the video, CNN shows the death of this tenor.......so, that can be Interpreted on unconscious level that you're in risk of death.
