  • Worthless... Buy a jeep

  • I think your UNI is hungry, it's eating everything in it's path...LOL

  • In my opinion, the unimog is underpowered, but otherwise and amazing vehicle.

  • they dont have much of a suspension lift though. why? i mean they have... none.

  • Way too small.. You might do better with a skidder.

  • So what's the general consensus, is the unimog better than a pinzgauer off roading?

  • i thought mining for diamonds was about the shittiest job in the world. i would love to drive that shit all day!

  • wht about your seatbelts

  • I would have thought that with portal axles that a neat Central Tire Inflation System would be easy to instal, and therefore let the tires down much quicker from the cabin. Look into, this video woulda been better with more traction.

  • not the right tires for offroad, but you can see what an unimog is made for :)

  • try less air in the tires for the mud and big rocks

  • He drives like a douchebag. Good way to trash the trails. Just because you can, doesn't mean that you should.

  • Since it is his land it does not really matter what you think. trails are not trashed in the least bit

  • @Tiponga69 Yes it does....

  • Engine: 2.2-litre straight 6 SOHC (Mercedes Benz M180) 80 HP (60 kW)

Shielded Distributor Ignition, 24 Volt Electrical System

    2 Barrel Zenith NDIX-32 Carburetor

  • Awesome video! Nice looking truck. What kind of engine does this thing have driving it? Gas or Diesel?

  • It's all about the scout man.

  • I would swap out the gas engine for a diesel in a second.

  • amazonia brasil ??

  • @luizgatoable no, esta en Wisconsin en Los Estados Unidos. Donde vive?

  • My bro has a unimog a it is bad ass

  • I thought it was gunna roll before he drove over that tree.

  • your scout is pretty cool, I am not a fan of mercedes but unimogs are great off road trucks, unimog is the only german vehicle I would own.

  • Wanted a MOG but after watcching this?? I had a G wagon but it was horribly expensive to repair when it broke. (Which by the way it frequently did)

    What about a Pinz?

  • Nothing really come close to a Unimog offroad. Slap on some tractor tires and go. Btw, those lockers have a lever for a reason.. TURNING...

  • i think a toyota with a slight lift and a straight axxle fuel injected does WAY WAY BETTER than this or any unimog. they're just too squary and roll over easy, on the other hand those straight axle toyotas can be modified to become real mudders, rock crawlers, you name it. besides they're so frigggin reliable, i've been 4 wheeling mine for years, it's not modified or anything, it's just got a 3 inch lift, ,, it just never seems to ever break down.

  • Toyota's are cool but the axles don't compare to the Unimogs. The birfields are known to have bad seals and explode. Can't count how many times I've seen it. There fine for 35" and under and moderate off-roading. You'll never see them in the Four Wheeler tough truck competition. They wouldn't make through the first log in the frame twister. Like I said there good but not great, unimog blow them out of the water.

  • @MrNicks24 yes you're right, i've seen those toyota birfields break when abused, they usually break if you don't lube them and abuse them,, or when the seals break. i've had luck with mine, but then again i dont' do extreme stuff, just mudding around.,, i'm sure those unimogs are heavy duty, they're mining equipment,, made for the grind. i rarely see them. how much did you pay for yours?? where'd you get it??

  • I personally do not own one. I have a Ford Ranger which is a pretty tough truck but not really extreme by any means. My plan is to retire it throw it on a full boxed frame and stuff some unimogs under it. I would like to throw a small turbo diesel in it also.

  • @sickbastard80 Oh I don't own one. I'm just a enthusiast I do have a couple lifted Rangers though. They're tough but not that tough. I could only dream of a unimog with a nice little diesel engine.

  • i think you have no clue with UNIMOGS means.

it's basicly a 'john deer' traktor, but with 4 equal size wheels and suspension.

it's has many gears, the put tools, like lawnmowers on this, to ride along highways and stuff.

'All Unimogs have very numerically high gear ratios which allow for crawl ratios that exceed the 100:1 ratio. w w w unimogcentre c o m / unimogprinc html

  • great video, love the capability the unimog has, only thing is the frame breaks were a little abrupt, lengthen those and its a perfect video. thumbs up from me

  • when you guys gonnamake more videos, i live in antigo wisconsin, and love watching any videos from wisconsin,,, iwould love to find a unimog up here cheap...

  • fucking trees.... ;-)

  • im sorry, but that was terrible driving

  • Wow, smart dudes.

Drive a truck into a hole and then can't get it out.

  • He drives like my old woman

  • You have to respect the driver, hes humpin a clutch & tying to look cool all at the same time. Not an easy feat in anybodys book. hats off, nice driving.

  • Yes his tires failed him...Getting some way agressive tires would do him a world of difference. He must keep the RPMs' up higher & try to hold it there...his gearing will do all of it for him.

  • i mean that thats cool and i respect the fact that unimogs are extremely capable but i got a little 84 4runner on 36's that coulda made it threw most of that too

  • Should have used the cornbinder to pull him out. Its got track loc axles on it, plus its a Scout

  • Wrong tires

  • He could have saved some grief by dropping the tire pressure to 5-10 psi.

  • hope he gave you permission to drive in the mud and other places

  • well he owns the land, so he would have to give himself permission but it is pretty much go where you want

  • good for going straight hopless at cornering

  • Nothing can stop a Unimog !! eeehhhm damn 1 thing stops the unimog ! A empty gas Tank

  • @JBOGermany My Kraz 255B1 would stop it.Its able to pull tanks out of the mud.

  • Kraz 255B1 DAMNN THAT IS AN BEAST

  • Im very glad to see, that you are familiar with soviet heavy offroad machinery. You should have little bit of soviet machines in germany too,i believe?I actually swapped the original JAMZ-238ND diesel engine, for the JAMZ-238B V12 turbocompound diesel engine from the Kirovets tractor.

  • Yes in Former east Germany Some Kirovets K700 and K701 are still in use.Soviet Truck ?? i dont know

  • Made in Ukraine,if exact.

  • @JBOGermany *that is a beast.........A beast

  • these street legal?

  • yeah

  • lol tread lightly. where is this?

  • lol private property. Pay attention to the beginning...he says where it is.

  • whats the first vehicle i only really know about landrovers

  • That is my 1966 International Harvester Scout 800 it can be found here on Youtube under scout 800 and scout 800 transformation. Probably one of the first SUV's has a 4cyl engine dana 44 axles 4.88 gears detroit locker in rear and tru trac in front

  • Nice vid, everyone around me builds up pickups to run on the pipeline and bog, I'd much rather save up my money for a stock Unimog and creep past them. Still can't get over the gross weight of 9 tons, f*ing tractor LoL!

    Lookin forward to more vids!

  • Wow - what do the revs drop to at 0:40 ? About 200 or something lol !

  • que buen vehiculo , tenia que ser aleman, son los mejores

  • yes it is a 406, i have one :D

  • That would be a 406 ;o) My friend has one, I have a 404 they are awesome machines!

  • Unimogs are cool, would like one myself.

  • you rock buddy

  • driver sucks. sweet mog

  • I agree. Killing young trees isn't cool, and wasn't necessary.

  • belliximo grande unimog

  • Nice Vid. Nice to see that americans can handle the Unimog too. I would never drive my MB Trac 1600 Turbo through that terrain.

  • what model is this unimog? i'd really like to know. I love the short wheelbase and the gearing is great.

  • the tires are stayin dirty but then again 1979 what do you expect :)

    the unimog owns :)

  • i think someone needs a new set of tires... there looking a bit bald

  • great video

but those tires don't clean their self's at all

  • unimog are geared to low to spin the tires fast enough to clean

  • didnt think about that

but new tires/tread pattern would help

  • Great video, It is an amazing vehicle. What would one be worth? Are they reliable and easy to maintain?

  • wow, thats harse lol, nubs unite

  • whats the point of dissing this guy or/and his video.. so why dont you all just shut the fuck up cuz this guy is making a point...FFS

  • He's an idiot who needs some 4x4 lessons!

  • Yea WHEN its crawl then u like dont move..And dueces are bigger hold mroe people and are more comfortable.

  • and if you didnt know you fuckin douche canue.. the bigger your rig is the heaveir it is and you got the way more of a chance of getting stuck.. and its sumthing calledc flotation you fuckin cock nogen..

  • It needs more power.I like the duece and a half better.

  • wtf u get way more torque than a duece when u put it in crawl

  • The only thing missing in that unimog to pass wherever it had wanted to, was the big/MT bad-ass tires... it's what I think...

  • Need mattracks

  • Guy needs some driving lessons. The unimog will drive itself.

  • 4:17 BLESS YOU

  • lOL

  • PS

I guess you can call that unimog a tree hugger! LOL

  • How tall are you I was debating on getting one myself but I'm 6'4" tall would I even fit?

  • I am 6' 1" it is tight but not uncomfortable. It really is like a go kart inside. you sit right abode the front end

  • This is the 404 or the 411 ?

  • My buddy has a unimog...It can do about anything but go fast..I want one too.

    cool vid.

  • that things legit

  • dunno if anny 4x4 stock vehicle could beat a unimog overall on dificult tracks.Aldoung designed 50 years ago

  • Did you take your scout on that trail? If so, how'd it do? It's so much lighter than the Unimog did it still have all of the sliding issues?

  • some video of the scout under scout 800 on same trails

  • It looks as though if you own a Unimog, you pretty much have to kiss tread lightly goodbye. But hooray for the power of technology over nature all the same.

  • lol well a chainsaw def would help. i dnt know what a conservation officer would say about it but i loved it

  • The old Scout rules !!! I had a 1967 when I was 14

  • i can go more places in my minivan on 20's

  • like where safeway ?

  • where do you get one

  • Sick!

  • Nice vid ,nice unimog, nice driving but next time take more care for nature!!!

  • the hell with nature knock some trees over with that thing

  • bring a chainsaw next time.

  • Seems to be a type 406 1970-75 and I really know they don't like slippery mud, but a couple of 1 meter long net-ladders make the wonder happen...

Chains on the wheels make it climb most rocks...

And the longer type 416 and 1978on 425 is much easier to maneuver in terrain (don't spin that much in the turns) ...been driving 406 -69 416 -76 and 424 -78 at work under most circumstances mostly fully loaded and often with heavy trailer in the present century ..old but still going strong...

  • so much for tread lightly, eh?

  • An amazing vehicle!

  • Hey my stock 97 landCruiser can out do what your showing in your videos. where did you leaurn to Wheel, Try lowering your tire air presure in the rocks it will make a world of difference...

  • wat een oude barrel

  • Wisconsin??? You lucky bastard! Where the hell did you find it???

  • on the map.

  • you barely mentioned the scout, it seemed to go wherever the unimog went

  • what a pathetic little life you have. Offroading unimogs is the business!!

  • I think you lost a bit... ;)

  • it seemed a bit under powered

  • that guy talks too much. doesn't even know what model it is.

  • i definatly agree with the first comment...go easy guys but it was a great vid keep them coming guys without the tree crashing!! lets see what that Mog can do!

  • I love Mogs, but I must comment that this does NOT qualify as "treading lightly" Please help save our wheeling spots by taking care to not destroy nature!

  • I realize that this does not show the best examples of treading lightly. The land we are on in this video is privately owned by the driver off the Unimog and who am I to say stop to good old fun. Treading lighlty on lands is the way to go thanks for the comment.

  • its only fuckin dirt man! its not as if he's driving over baby foxes and badgers...

  • The problem isn't the dirt, so much. It's the trees they are tearing up. Since it is private land, it isn't an issue. The problem is that tree huggers see this sort of destruction, and suddenly we don't have any place to play any more. I LOVE TO OFFROAD, and am just trying to preserve our areas to play.

  • lol baby foxes and badgers! xD

but seriouly my cat can drive better than that brian guy!!! >:[

  • Actually a unimog produces less ground preassure than many other vehicles

  • great vid!check my ride

  • thanks for sharing

  • I thought i was going to be bored but i enjoyed good video

  • Good Vid :)
