I have openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.2 and its ultimately bad ass. I cant wait for KDE to release the complete KDE4. I never liked Gnome, to me its more for the people who don't know how to customize anything, its to simple and boring. People always bitch about some kind of Hardware not working in Suse but it works out of the box in Ubuntu. I dont care what u say, everything that works in Ubuntu also works in suse, you just don't know how to configure and build your modules. Ubuntu is for noobs
Wow, look at all the ignorant comments. SUSE is a reliable platform if you don't dick around with it like an idiot. It won't hold your hand like Windows does, and that's part of why I like it.
Maybe something with the graphics, I had a similar problem when trying to run ubuntu off my macbook pro. I had to go into the graphics config files and set the correct drivers.
Couldn't exactly see what the problem is.. If YaST isn't loading, you might not have enough ram.. But if you've got over 256mb, you should be good. If you can't get suse working (crappy distro anyways), give gentoo or slackware a try, they're both superior, highly customizable distros.
