I love how I'm taking pirouette advice from someone who can barely do a double. In slippers. Lol! No, I' kidding. These tips are good to remember! Thanks.
You know when you said 'do this' then you said ok that was a bit exaggerated? well...thats exactly what i do... lol . thank you soooo much though its really worked :D
thankyou so so so so so so much! the thing that you told me about lifting up and not around fixed all my problems with turns! you're amazing! thankyou again!
very very helpful, really good of you to show the basics right away! (: (: what my teacher always says is that your arms must be strong (when someone pushes them they should still be in place) maybe it might help (: in five days I'm going to a a ballet class with a teacher from the royal ballet academy in antwerp belgium, maybe she can give some more tips :D but really really helpful! you go girl, keep dancing!!
@crazymeiden You are very right.A alot of the counter force needed to produce more revolutions is from the arms.In the ballet passe it is like the hands are connected to the toe which is placed on the soft part just inside the knee cap.The shoulders should never become disconnected from the hips.Shoulders over hips rotating evenly. There should be an even "tension" or use of the muscles of the arm as you rise and turn. Also squeeze your bum and ENGAGE the turn out muscles in your prep &as you turn
Thanks girl! This is exactly what I needed, I was practicing the turns, forgetting to first take a really good look at the balance and correct stance.
Thanks, I like the way you include all the details on posture (butt in head up etc.) as opposed to the other videos I have seen on pirouettes, which only show how to do it. I would like to have you as my teacher! I know you have a additional video in which you show some techniques for home training. Would it be possible to make a video that I (we) can use during the training (I mean a 30 minutes video for a 30 minutes training). No intro, just technique, tips and tricks, like this video.
Thanks for the tips :) I just started Jazz a month ago and was looking for a video to learn pirouttes!! Your tips are very easy to understand for the beginners.
This video was great, you're so cute! One tip I like is to remember to bring the working leg up through cou de pied to passe while keeping it in contact with the standing leg; this helps to reinforce the straight line you're picturing going up from the floor through your body.
one thing I always remember my teacher saying is that you want to keep your upper body straight and in line but not stiff. if your upper body is stiff then you won't be able to balance. you want to relax your arms and upper body so that as you're turning you're able to make the small adjustments needed to keep your balance.
i focus on keeping the leg in passe turned out. veryyyy helpful. and making sure that foot is attached to your leg right beneath your knee. that can help you balance
you know what is funny... i have watched soooooo many videos on youtube in doing pirouettes and honestly i never would have thought to just balance in pase..... obvisouly im not in ballet.... but im in colorugard and some dance and i have only been able to do one or two (sloppy-ish) pirouettes... so im trying to perfect them so i can put them in either a show or choreography. thanks you were great help <3 cody
Some of those tips are pretty obvious but sometimes we try so hard we forget the basics so it's actually quite helpful to remind us to get the basics down first :)
I might go try those now :P haha
I'm probably about the same level as you, i can just do a double :)
btw way you're pretty funny in a not try hard kinda way which is common on youtube :P
How long have you been dancing? You're really good.

When you do your passe, bring your arms in and put more energy into them. Other than that, you're good (:
