  • Thank you so much for posting this. It is a legacy that cannot and will not be replaced. Please contact me on where to purchase the service. I was present at the homegoing but not aware of the purchase of it. Again, thank you. Pastor Nicks was a long time friend of my family (The Barrett Sisters) and I enjoyed several wonderful fellowships at he and Lucille's home in Detroit. Be blessed in all your endeavors, Ron Barrett

  • What a wonderful Man of God, though I did not know him, but to watch this clip and listen at the testimonies, I thank God for patrons of gospel music who paved the way for singers like me.

  • Can someone tell me what cemetery Rev. Nicks is buried in?

  • @cjzzzzz Woodlawn Cementary...on Woodward between 7 and 8mile rd

  • I heard about Rev Nicks Was a great musican I think he up there with Billy Preston and Twinkie Clark.

  • @TheFirecogicuk

    Twinkie Clark is not dead

  • I'm very awere that twinks aint dead.

I was saying they are on the same level when it comes to organ playing.

  • I will say this. This is my posting, and I can restrict all comments if I choose. This was not posted for negative comments. But, to share a bit of history, and the legacy of Rev. Charles H. Nicks, Jr. I will began to block any user who abuses this!!!

  • If you look at this video, you can see clips. I am not posting anything further regarding the funeral of Rev. Nicks. He was servant, and I will maintan the respect he has earned from me. Others often want something to pick at. If you notice I have removed many comments, because of the evil remarks. You got what you are getting.. If you want the funeral then make arrangements to purchase it.

  • @THGMusic08 Where would u be able to purchase it at???

  • Does anyone know what happened to his wife, did she die also.

  • Pastor Nicks' wife if alive and well! Thank you for asking.

  • @THGMusic08 He married a woman, why, how?

  • @Monk3597 She is still living. She resides in Detroit.

  • I never would have thought, well i'm sure he wasn't the only one that passed from it(gospel singer)

  • I would not believe all of the conjectures. I can say without hesitation, I knew his entire family. ALL of the video's you see with Rev. Nicks in them on this site came from ME!! Now, we rather historian or curiosity seeker, enjoy his living ministry! All the other stuff is idle gossip! And, I will remove such vulgar comments.

  • @THGMusic08 Thank you for the videos of the great Rev Charles Nicks Jr. In tearms of his organ playing I think he's up there with Billy Preston and fellow detroit citizen Twinkie Clark-Terrell. I personly don't believe all that gossip you'll find when God's people do something the devil always come speak foolishness. Be incourge keep those videos comming.

  • i would love to see clips of his homegoing service if anyone have any clips of his homegoing service please post it please.(rev nicks)

  • @ivanberry19 I have both services, the musical the night before was about 6 hours and you had to be their by 4pm to get a seat and the crowd keep coming throughtout the evening. The homegoing was about 5 hours. This clips shows the members all in white.

  • The only thing I know is his heart stopped

  • AMEN!!

  • When I Made this comment, it was a polite way of saying, everybody's heart stops when they pass away. So, leave it at that.

  • @THGMusic08 @ 1:41 the Man with the white tie is the Late Bishop David L Ellis.

They had Rev Nick's homegoing @ Bishop Ellis's church (Greater Grace Temple) ggt is one of the largest church in the area. Bishop Ellis's son Bishop Charles H Ellis3rd is the current pastor. Both Bishop charles and David videos are on youtube. god bless.

  • Forty-Seven?!

  • omg he was only 47???

  • you bought to get smacked for nearly bringing me to tears

  • James Cleveland has been dubed as the "king of gospel music but after hearing the music of Rev.Nicks I think that title belongs to Rev.Nicks. What was the cause of his death because he was so young. He left us way to soon. Really loved the way he could make an organ talk and talk and talk.

  • I believe Rev. Nicks, had more training as a musican than Rev. Cleveland. Rev. Nicks was gaining in popularity, with the convergence of "Free Spirit Assembly". However, he served aside Rev. Cleveland for many years.

  • Reverend Cleveland's "King Of Gospel" status stems from him launching and being instrumental in so many Artists careers. Reverend Nicks was a phenomenal writer and SUPERB organist but he was more centered in Detroit with the Adult Choir whereas Rev. Cleveland was EVERYWHERE because of the GMWA

  • Very well put!!

  • How Did Rev Nicks Pass?

  • @Monk3597 Cause of death AIDS, just like with James Cleveland, they loved boys. I know a few they took with them

  • @Zowyla This is true. I suppose this is what THGMusic08 is so paranoid about. Don't forget Bishop J.D. Husband.

  • @dallaskenn You're going to open a can of worms.

  • Whats the current status of Rev Franklin's church? Is it still has "popular" as it once was?

  • Rev. Nicks, was the Radio musician at Rev. C. L. Franklins church for many years. Rev. Franklin's is going strong. Robert Smith is the Pastor.

  • Sorry, I do not have any video's of Rev. Robert Smith. I have an audio.

  • what year did he die? WOW rev james cleveland was there umm.

  • Rev. Nicks went on to be with the LORD in 1988Many where there. Rev. Nicks was a devoted Pastor, so it was more of a Pastoral homegoing rather than one of an Artists.
