Yeah, I just found out. Too bad... I was in Orleans, IN in July 2011 and I noticed a semaphore, but the tracks were in terrible shape. I guess that explains it.
Now all we have left is the ones out in the New Mexico desert, and I live FAR from there.
Anyone know if the semaphore in Central City Nebraska is still standing? It was south on the BN branch ( formerly CB&Q I think) of the crossing of the UP's main line. I was stationed at the Silver Creek Air Force Site back in 1988/89 and recalled seeing the semaphore when I came to Central City. That would be cool if they were donated to railroad museum rail lines & displays.
No, most were gone even by 1990 and there were only about 3 left by 1995. All were probably gone by the Conrail split in '99.
And for any who don't know this was actually a Conrail line when this was taped, Susquehanna had trackage rights between Campbell Hall and Binghamton, NY.
@Sniper12890 Incorrect. There are 38 operating blades in Indiana, plus some on the BNSF route used by the Southwest Chief. See my 20 or 30 most recent videos for reference.
Nice vid, wish it was better quality thou =D

The former Monon Hoosier Subdivision in Indiana has semaphores along it, but only in southern Indiana. The rest were recently removed and replaced.
