Problem is, Scrap Brain 1 forces you to collect rings, and has an invisible ceiling.

So I'm a bit stuck on how to do it ATM.

Watch the TAS. As far as I know, you have to find a pipe that goes up, and then duck/spindash to get the rings offscreen long enough to pass through them. This is somewhat weird, because no official games handle them like that.

yes they do, all sonic games consider anything not on screen to be not there.

I've looked at the TAS and it's too hard to get the dash out in time for the screen not to catch up, so i'm currently researching a different route.

Try Metropolis screenwrap. Rings can still be collected even offscreeen in the official games, but not in Knuckles in Sonic 1.

I mean as a proof that rings offscreen can still be collected in other games. S1K is the only game that doesn't notice offscreen rings.

ah, that's odd, because I'm sure you can bypass certain rings in S3K, it's got a different ring management system than S2.

What happened? You got some rings and had to lose a life? Oh, man. Anyway, still very good! When you do Scrap Brain Zone for the "No Rings Run," make sure you do Act 3 with Final Zone together. Can you do that, please?

When I end a zone, I savestate, then when I fuck up I load the state and retry the current zone.

And yes, I'll combine act 3 with final zone, as it takes my video count to 99, then the 100th video will be the blooper reel.
