  • Cool video, one question, how in hell did you teach him/her to do that? 0.0

Btw, I now know what that song is called that I heard AGES ago and didn't know about, so thanks for that too

  • This is a lovely video, you can clearly see that your budgie is very tame and more than happy in your company and very well loved :)

But what is with all the apologies, you have done nothing wrong. You will never please everyone in life, sadly that is just a sad fact of life but please don't let it worry you.

  • FINGER ELEVEN - PARALYZER

  • how did you teach him to do that?! I can't my budgie to budge!

    please tell!

  • @aebrailsford You need to gain his/her trust first and treat them after each turn. There are some really good tutorial videos on youtube.

  • nice a man budgie ...

  • I LOVE this song lolz

  • I Love How His Head Moves Every Few Seconds. xD Clearly you retards who think it's dead don't pay attention.

  • that cool

  • I have a sun conure who did the same as your bird when he was young. So trusting and loving they actually sleep hard when they are babies. Ignore the negative ones.

  • Thats so cool :D

  • This Is Not Fake Itis Real And Those Know Well Who Understand Birds ! Sorry For My Bad English

  • @jessylovespets51 nope, its completely real it would be impossible for me to make this fake because I really suck at editing :)

  • it's clearly dead

  • @GameDization he is alive :)

  • @GameDization Clearly not dead, douche.

  • ...

  • The bird is actually dead

  • @RomanVyourmom what? is not!

  • Awee so cute, I just got a budgie and I want to start teaching her tricks asap but I just got her and she's really stressed and scared. Budgies love to have company with another bird so I'm going to buy another bird in a month. Just letting everyone here know thatt if you have one budgie you need to spend extra time with them or they would become really lonley and sad and the thought of that makes me really sad ):

  • Great video!

  • Whew, that's one patient little bird... And he didn't even move at the sight of food! Amazing!

  • umm song : love paralyzer.

  • i love this music!

  • i love the music!

  • that is one mellow, trustin keet!

  • Wow nice, you look like you love him :D take care of him good, it'is nice to care about little creatures, does he have some friends ?

  • @llOoXxACExXoOllAS Yes, only one friend though (too messy!!)

  • AWWW HIS LITTLE YELLOW BALL HEAD :D

  • He was awesome. But you shouldn't have messed with him. He was turning his head as if to say, "Hey Mom, I'm acting here. Let me be."

  • i currently own two budgies, and i'm having a hard time trying to tame them and show them i'm no threat. i've had the male since sept, 2011 and the female at the end of oct. 2011. the female is the one who will eat from my hand first, encouraging the male over, but if i move, the male runs, and the female thinks she has to follow him. any tips for me?

  • Im sorry if you dont like the video, or the music. I would just like to say that I love my birds and would never want to hurt them. They are very happy budgies and we dont get Beans to play dead any more. :) There are lots of training videos by other people if you want to teach your budgie. Please leave comments and rate this video!

I am trying to post more videos so if you have any suggestions for a video please leave a comment.

This is just a fun trick for your birds to learn :)

  • @Irano1995 We rarely hold our birds, he was only held like that because of the awkwardness of the position, so don't worry, he is fine :)

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese

  • is that an english budgie? what mutation is it? it looks like its mottled, which is rare...beautiful budgies!

  • wwwwooooooooww!!!!!!!

  • @LoveAvrilLavigne11 Well your stupid. 1.) You have horrid grammar and 2.) You forget your own PET outside. How would you feel if you were in a cage outside in the cold forgotten?

  • Oh my gosh!, Oh my GOSH! This bird is.... Is.... A awesome actor! Congratulations!! I want one budgie for my birhtday. Great video!

  • Mine plays dead too. I can go dig him up and show you.

  • AWWW,I MISS MY LITTLE POOPERTAIL BIRD POPEYE

  • woah wat type of budgie is he? his feathers are different then my budgies

  • @Crazi4Budgies We think he is an English budgie, but his feather were wet then because we had given him a bath - it was a very hot day :)

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese aw hes so cute :D Hes amazing!

  • I'm not sure he like this position

  • wats the song?

  • @Crazi4Budgies Paralyzer by finger eleven

  • makes me sad, mine looked like that when he died :(

  • its not good to do that to them just saying

  • @KelseyLostIt Im sorry that you don't like the video, however he no longer plays dead. I think he was already trained to play dead when we got him.

  • he is a gorgeous english budgie! i have 1 that looks just like him. they are very rare

  • @muddpuppie226 Realllly? I do love the colours on him though!

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese Are you kidding? Sweet music :D lol, cool trick.

  • it's sooo cuteee!! I used to have a bird but he died because we forgotted him outside at night, it was cold.

  • My budgie is deceased on 20 December 2011 * Cry * :´(

  • @Lea7833

aww! im sorry... same happened to me...

  • @Lea7833 Sorry for your loss, it is very sad to lose a friend.

  • i thought he was actually dead...shamee!!

  • I would say your bird is likely startled from being handled, I had a bird that would do this when I trimmed her claws. If this was normal and the bird liked this he wouldn't be struggling when you handle him. And wet from a hot day... birds don't sweat. Budgies come from the hottest areas of Australia and can handle the heat. It's probably from excessive handling. Please be careful with your budgie and remember they aren't really meant to be handled.

  • @xj1ggy Don't worry, he doesn't do the trick any more ;)

  • awww he's cute!

  • WOW,COOL!

  • I can't even think to understand how you would or could teach a budgie to do this???!?

  • BUDGIE IS DEAD!

  • wow how do u do that

  • tão engraçado ! oh! hehehe mesmo fixe :D

  • That is so cute!

  • Thats so cute! I've had 2 budgies for 4 yrs now and I'm getting another one tomorrow! I hope I can train it to be as tame as this one. :D

  • Its paralyzer the name of the music

  • I wanna poke his belly :3

  • when u put the food on his belly he is like yumm no beans stay in your role

  • Does that usally happen to you?

  • @BlurryVideos2011 Im sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. If you're talking about the budgie, no, he only did this a couple of times before we filmed it, but we don't get him to do it anymore.

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese Birds don´t like it very much lying on their backs, I think this is the reason why he won´t do it anymore. =)

But it looks cute, anyway. x3

  • @DarkHeartEzio Thanks :) Also, we just don't get him to do it any more.

  • @DarkHeartEzio You're wrong, parrots in particular either love or at least don't mind being on their backs. It all depends on its personality and the level of comfort it has with its human. There's even an entire breed of parrots that sleep half of the time on their backs (and when they want to get your attention); it's quite startling when you see it for the first time.

  • hahahahahaha great!!!

  • how do u teach him that?

  • This is called a Catatonic state, just as sharks do if you flip em over as mentioned in the other comment. Don't worry at all, this is totaly harmless to your Budgie as you are doing it and in controll. Where you to leave the bird in that state is would be different, or if it happend randomly but that is clearly not the case here.

  • how do u keep 2 budgies from flying around when let out of the cage going crazy? is it difficult 2 get them bck in their cage?

  • @nicollettePerfect When we first got him, yes it was quite difficult to get him back in the cage, but the more you get to know him, the more he trusts you and lets you hold him. I got my other budgie when he was just a baby, therefore giving him plenty of attention increased his trust towards me. When they are out of their cage, they tend to fly around a bit, but they allow me to hold them. Also, clipping their wings can prevent them from flying away.

  • how long does it take 2 teach a budgie 2 talk, older budgies. how llong does it take 4 2 budgies 2 talk. also, can i ask, how do u keep it from flying around like crazy and get it back to its cage? need some tips before i do it please.

  • can i ask? how do u teach him not to fly around without clipping their wings out of their cage? in a closed room with they be hard to get bck on ur finger once they are let out?

  • @nicollettePerfect Both of our birds have clipped wings, meaning they can still fly, but not as much. Our older budgie (which we have had since he was 6 weeks old) is still very tame when he can fly normally, so again, they have to trust you.

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese

    thanks for the reply! :)

  • taky co sni dela a ma hnusny prsty

  • How did u do thAT PLEASE tell me

  • This is soooo cute! How did you teach him to play dead?

  • did he really died?

  • don't do that to budgie. Play with him normal

  • @kltftgkgjgkj Yes, we play with him normally, don't worry, because he only did this if he was comfortable with it. If he is uncomfortable, he makes a loud noise :)

  • Love it how he plays dead can u do a tutorial on how you tought him to do it plz?

  • @XSmallyX500 Beans doesn't play dead any more, however there are plenty more tutorials on youtube.

  • Brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

    It's so unique.

    You've got a little treasure there. :)

  • @stegokitty Thanks :)

  • si cute!

  • wait when he did it the first time, did you actually train him or rush to the vet? :)

  • @elsielsie703 We trained him :) There's some other tutorials on Youtube on training your budgie to do that too.

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese it's not gay! it's perfect to that video

  • Yes this is cute but its not because the budgie likes it. The budgie gets numb and can't move unless if they use a lot of energy or you move them. Think of it as the fact with the sharks, if you flip a shark over on its back, then it will be paralyzed and will sink to the ocean floor.

  • @xxWoLfKiD285xx Oh, I actually didn't know that. You'll be glad then, that he only did this a few times. He doesn't do this anymore (he isn't that tame anymore and will make a huge noise if he is uncomfortable.) Thank you for telling me ;]

  • This is Beans, our more recent budgie.

I'm sorry if you don't like the music - feel free to mute! Or if you don't like it that he plays dead..

    He didn't mind playing dead but for now, he is retired (it was a one-off!). When Beans did play dead, he got a lovely treat of Millet Seed after each go. If he didn't want to play dead, he wouldn't have. ;-}

Flappy (Bean's best mate) and Beans are currently chirping away while I type so don't worry, they are happy, chappy budgies!

  • You really have a way w/birds. He shows an amazing amount of both trust and spirit of play with you, to go along with such a trick. The more of these vids I watch, the more I see budgies as real clowns. Like some parrots, there are those who just love to push their little envelopes! --and perform at the utmost edge of what they can learn. Also I am seeing vids of keets who have a larger repetoire of human vocabulary- whole phrases and sentences- than any parrot I've seen!Wonderful...

  • omg he is soooo cute

and it would of been better if it was another song.

  • @CuteSmileszz Thanks! Yes, unfortunately Youtube does not give great songs to add to your video, but I will try and get a better one up soon.

  • what does budgie mean?

  • @iheartreborns1 Budgie is short for 'budgerigar' which is a type of bird (they can be Australian, English or American).

  • I am Katie. I have a budgie he is a few months old and how do you make them do that? please make a video. thx

  • @Katiebug62102 Make sure he is OK with it first. It also depends how tame he is. The are other tutorial videos on Youtube on how to make your budgie play dead ;)

  • Call Peta!!!

  • Lmao! Cute!

  • OMG Amazing

check out my videos <3 i need more views

its all about budgies :D & thank you

  • Song

  • So cute

  • Training budgies is easy, it isn't cruel to train them, especially when they enjoy it.

  • @IAteTheMoldyCheese Your so right J.P It's your bestie! I have 2 keep my identity a secret though! SO CUTE!!!!

  • he moves at 0:24

  • He wasn't asleep, his eyes were open but you can't see because his head is on an angle.

  • AW I can't get over him like that so long lol is he a feather duster his feathers look long? Love the color good bird

  • @warboop No, he isn't a feather duster.

  • That bird must been so tired when not responding at all.. Thats how you make a budgie to lie on back :/

  • @Demogorgon1234 He wasn't tired, he is just good at it. Look at some other videos of budgies playing dead.

  • @Demogorgon1234 No, I don't think he was tired. He likes doing it.

  • wow. good bird!

  • Wow he really looks dead!

  • how do you do it?

    its just amazing

  • remember about me being Flappys owner

  • How do you do that?!?!?!?!
