but honestly mustang100002 is right. The top 200 pros are on a different level compared to these college guys...and the top 10 are on a completely different world from that...and the top 4 are amazingly levels above even that.
Im just a beginner but Denis Lin's serve but hurt his back because of that bend and idk but i think thats also a kick serve so that must put a lot of pressure on his back but idk that just me.
This is how it goes: point! out! point! net! point! out! point! net! ... and so on. They look like good players but a little more consistency would be good.
Guy in red is better. Blue shirt is a pusher with no power or consistency, and slow as molasses. I would crush these 2 moonballers. I was invited to try out by the UW coach himself, but no scholarship so I didn't play. The more I watch, the less I am impressed. Can't these guys hit winners from the baseline?
Its just his consistency that lets him down, good groundstrokes, great footwork but every return and shot he tries to smack it as hard as possible, never going to work, needs to learn to construct a point and know when to take advantage on particular shots!
half the time dennis looks like hes playing for fun, having a hit with friends, or warming up. then when he turns it on you see how good he really is. sometimes he gets a little lazy
Are they jumping when they are hitting? My high school coach tells me that I need to stay on the ground when I hit, but these guys hit good and they look like they are jumping.
@DillonSinghBasi They load up on their legs and uncoil into their shots to get power from their whole body and not just their arm/shoulder. they aren't just jumping up and down while they swing their arms.
@squishee I agree, it's just not a good serve period, he keeps trying to bang it hard when clearly he's not capable of getting it in. And his body language is almost always negative.

Man these videos are great. I wish I could get someone to video tape me playing like this. I've never really seen myself play.

@MrMag224 No way that your cousin plays for Villanova and can beat some of the top players from UCLA and Stanford. Villanova is a joke in tennis.

what's up with Denis? Terrible footwork, strokes don't penetrate, and don't even get me started on the serve. How is he playing 4-5 for Stanford?

@r6vgowchamp I agree his footwork is lazy

Love the uploads, even if the matches are not the best I still think everyone can learn from these matches.
Thanks, keep it up.

@whyaminoob . That's Denis Lin from Stanford. I'm hoping my son (Matt Lin) will be as good as Denis one of these days.
